Cute, clean romance for the holidays 🎄

Reilly visits Mistletoe Lake for Christmas, particularly for the harbor festival. Ray is a long time resident of the town, with a lot of family history there.
Ray’s daughter, Emma, immediately bonds with Reilly over design & loving Christmas. She invites Reilly to stay on their boat, since she has nowhere to go.

I wanted to like this, but it just wasn’t for me. It was sweet but I couldn’t get into it. Novels written in the 3rd person perspective tends to throw me off, especially with a single pov.

This book is for you if you enjoy:
⭐️ Closed door
⭐️ Small town
⭐️ Single dad
⭐️ Christmas

This was such a lovely setting and plot idea - my first book ever set partly on a boat! So cool and all the characters turned out to be nice, even the previously icky ones!! The found family elements were so lovely and fast becoming my favourite trope. The story moved quickly and feasibly with great character development.
I did have some reservations about a romance written by a man - didn’t know if there would be any awfulness like there often is when men write about women - but this was tasteful, romantic, not too cliche and no sexual content at all.

Christmas on Mistletoe Lake brought me right into the Christmas spirit. I was able feel the highs and lows of each character and enjoyed the multidimensional relationships woven in. I am also now trying to talk my family into Christmas on a lake complete with a boat parade - Robin you have inspired me! .

Christmas on Mistletoe Lake is a cozy Christmas story about Reilly choosing this small country lake town for her family Christmas vacation. After meeting a little girl and her father at their store, they offer her a place to stay on their houseboat since there's no room anywhere else in town. While staying there, she gets to know them, the town, and take part in their Christmas traditions. One of her really good clients, however, wants to turn the family's beloved houseboat, and the harbor, into a big tourist town.

The story itself is your classic Hallmark channel Christmas story, which was my reason for wanting to read it. City girl goes to small town for Christmas, meets small town boy, falls in love, tries to save the day. The story is good, but I feel like there could have been much more detail. There were a few sections that I had to reread because it seemed like there was something missing. One part she was standing on the boat and all of sudden she was working on the engine. Did she just jump in, climb in, or fall down wherever the engine was? To me, it felt like a rough first draft that was just trying to get the story out, but they forgot to go back and add more depth to it. I know this is also a movie, but books I feel are supposed to be better and have more details to them and I'm not sure this one does that.

A heart warming small town Christmas love story.

Reilly Shore has never felt like she had a place to call home. Growing up, her parents would renovate their home, sell it, and move on to the next house. One thing Reilly could look forward to was taking turns with her sister each year picking out where and how they would spend Christmas. This year, Reilly has chosen Mistletoe Lake, a small cottage country town.

Interior designer Reilly finds herself in the town of Mistletoe Lake with no place to stay. The town’s B&B is completely full . Emma, invites her to stay on her dad’s boat. Reilly learns that Emma’s dad, Ray Mitchell, is the only boat owner on Mistletoe Lake not participating in the town’s annual harbor festival. Ray is actually in the process of trying to sell the boat. Emma is saddened by the possibility of the sale and enlists Reilly’s help to help convince her dad to enter the festival so they can have one last perfect Christmas.

A quick, easy to read Christmas romance with plenty of festive cheer. I enjoyed the characters and the beautiful setting.

Thank you to Netgalley and Vinspire Publishing for the eARC I received in exchange for my honest opinion. My review will be posted on Goodreads, Amazon, Pinterest on 11/20/22.

I loved this one! What a sweet story. We meet Reilly who picks a random spot to visit every year and this holiday she lands in a cute cottage town and meets Ray through his twelve year old daughter. Both are romantically going through things, but find connection with one another. Mix in a Christmas Festival and you have a perfect holiday love story. I would love if this one could be made into a movie. 5 stars!

Every Christmas, Reilly Shore picks a random spot on the map and takes a trip. This year, that destination is the cottage country town of Mistletoe Lake When she arrives, she discovers the town's lone b&b is chock-full due to Mistletoe Lake's annual Christmas Harbor Festival- when all the boats docked along the water are decorated with festive lights.

When twelve year-old Emma invites Reilly to stay on her dad's boat, she learns that Emma's dad, Ray Mitchell, is the only boat owner on Mistletoe Lake who isn't participating in the harbor festival. In fact, he's in the process of trying to sell the boat. As the possibility of the sale saddens Emma, she enlists Reilly's help to convince Ray to enter into the festival so they can have one last perfect Christmas on the picturesque lake.

Reilly doesn't know she's about to meet someone who is as romantically adrift as she is. And she certainly doesn't expect to fall in love...or to unintentionally betray him. Christmas is a time for forgiveness, but Ray doesn't seem to be in a forgiving mood.

Christmas on Mistletoe Lake was a cute Christmas romance with a lot of Hallmark vibes!

Reilly and her sister take a Christmas vacation together each year. This year Reilly randomly picked Mistletoe Lake as their destination and she goes up ahead of her sister. Little does she know, there is no room at the inn. Reilly meets Emma, a young girl from Mistletoe Lake. Emma offers to let Reilly stay on her father's boat.

Emma's dad, Ray, is attracted to Reilly but is having a hard time with the decision to sell his dad's boat. On top of that, Ray is troubled that the Mistletoe Lake Harbor Festival (started by his dad) has led to lots of tourists and vacation homes that are driving away local residents.

Little does Reilly know that she is inadvertently contributing. Will Reilly be able to help or will she end up hurting Ray and Mistletoe Lake?

This is my first book by Robin Dunne and it was unfortunate that I did not know it was a movie . The book follows Reilly who has never had a Christmas in one place so every year she chooses a place to spend Christmas. So this particular time she decides to go to Mistletoe Lake where she bumps into a young girl called Emma who offers for Reilly to stay on her family boat. Emma's dad is not quite festive and thus Reilly maybe the one to change his mind. It's a second chance romance perfect for the season,

I received a free copy of Christmas on Mistletoe Lake, by Robin Dunne from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Every Christmas Reilly picks a random place to visit, or a holiday. This year she is headed to Mistletoe Lake. This is a short but sweet Christmas story, about family, and home.

Reilly arrives at Mistletoe Lake because every year she picks a place to spend Christmas, and this year she was going to Mistletoe Lake. When she arrives, she discovers the only B&B has no vacancies. When she went to the store next door, she meets a 12-year-old girl, Emma, doing a window display. Reilly offers to help her. Emma convinces her father, Ray, to let Reilly stay on the boat.
Ray is going to be selling the boat, and Reilly helps him get it started. There is a lot going on at Mistletoe Lake, that they don't know about. Reilly finds out about it first and can't decide to tell Ray or not, so when he does find out, he is really upset with her. Emma wants her father to decorate his boat and enter it into the Mistletoe Lake's annual Christmas Harbor Festival. It will take a lot of convincing, and the story really gets intriguing. I kept thinking, expect the unexpected because the things that happened were unexpected.
The writing flowed and as I was reading, it was like my head was playing the story in a movie, it was so well told. It is a wonderful place to visit, and the people there, are friendly, caring, and enjoy their way of life. Reilly was full of surprises with the things she could do and the difference she made.

This is a cute small town town story based in a town that loves Christmas.

Ray lives in Mistletoe Lake and agrees to let Reilly stay on his boat since the B&B in town is full. He is preparing to sell the boat and is not planning on decoration it as is the towns's tradition. Of course, Reilly offers to help so that Ray's daughter can enjoy the tradition for the last time.

However, the town is in financial trouble as well. Will this be the last Christmas for Mistletoe Lake?

Growing up, Reilly Shore was never able to put down roots. Her parents would remodel their home, sell it, and move on to the next house. One thing Reilly could count on was that every other year she got to pick where and how they would spend Christmas. This year Reilly and her younger sister will be spending their holiday in Mistletoe Lake for the annual Christmas Harbor Festival. When Reilly arrives she finds that the local B&B is booked full.

A young girl named Emma, who Reilly runs in to at the General Store, offers for Reilly to stay on her family boat. Ray Mitchell, Emma's father, was not planning to enter his boat in the festival this year. Actually, he is looking to sell the boat he inherited from his father. To Ray, Mistletoe Lake no longer resembles the small town he grew up in. Can Reilly's energetic Christmas spirit help Ray to overcome his Scrooge attitude?

Christmas on Mistletoe Lake is a feel good holiday story with a happily ever after ending. Reilly and Ray are brought together completely by fate. Reilly is unhappy in her life, the year prior she ended her long term relationship and she is not completely happy with her work life. Ray is a single father who's childhood home is being overtaken by commercialization and tourism. Both are relatable characters and Mistletoe Lake is a beautiful romantic setting, even if it is changing.

This story is actually a movie that has been converted to a book.

This is the first time I have read this author and I can say I really enjoyed it. This story is about Ray, Emma and Emmaline's historical family boat. Ray has decided to sell it so his daughter Emma can go to a special school. Then Reily comes to Mistletoe Lake and when she gets there the first person she meets is Emma and she takes her to the boat and suggests that Riley stay on the boat since there are no rooms available. She does and she gets involved with the family and the boat. This is a VERY GOOD READ.
