Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This was a fun read! I like that Benjamin, the worm, wants to read and learn new things. He goes after his dream even though his family doesn’t believe a worm should want to read and learn new things. He sets off on a crazy adventure and finds friends along the way. I like how he sticks with it even when it gets hard. He gets to goto the biggest library in the world and read to his heart’s content.

This sweet story tells about Benjamin, a worm, who is not like the others. What he really loves is books! He reads his way through many books, but craves more. He eventually ends up at the Library of Congress where he learns that the collection is ever growing. This book mixes fantasy and fact and is perfect for growing book lovers. The illustrations are magical.

This was such an adorable little story! A little worm called Benjamin is desperate for more reading material than the newspapers in the trash, what then follows is an adventure of epic proportions for such a little worm, all the way to congress! The illustrations were so sweet, the story themes were darling, & it was the perfect length for a bedtime story. I'll definitely be adding a physical copy to our home library when it comes out.

Illustrations are spot-on beautiful. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching. The cover filled my heart.

The story is creepy fun. In the beginning I was stymied, and at one point thought are you kidding me. Then it happened, I laughed out loud. Factoring in hindsight, I fell in love. The story is funny and nonsensical until it's not. Towards the end, I chuckled and thought of myself. The copyright mark was a genius part of the story.

I absolutely would gift this to anyone who collects books. These people move their shelves around and have trinkets, they ooze sugar over a beautiful cover. This would be a nice, I do listen and know you love books gift.

For kids, certainly. This does require parental guidance explaining fact from fiction. (Everyone needs to be taught do not write in a library book.)

Can we just take a minute to appreciate how cute Benjamin is? Reminds me of Ferdinand the Bull and showing it’s ok to be different. Also, love the ending. This would be one I would add to our collection!

What a cute way to talk to kids about reading and libraries! Benjamin is a worm who has no interest in eating grocery scraps; he just wants to look at the newspapers and magazines that make it into the trash. One night Benjamin comes up with a plan to find more books to read, and his plot leads him all the way to the Library of Congress.

The pictures are cute, the premise is charming, and my 5 year old enjoyed the story! I also liked the information about libraries and reading at the end of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this adorable ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy!

This book is the story of Benjamin, a worm. Benjamin is unlike his family because he prefers reading books over eating rotten food behind the grocery store. Benjamin goes on an adventure to find more books and finally ends up at the Library of Congress, thanks to a wonderful librarian.

This book and the illustrations has my kids laughing out loud. What a beautiful book introducing kids to the beauty of libraries, including the library or Congress. The copyright ©️ mark was particularly cute. My 7 year old went searching for it in his books afterwards.

I adore books about falling in love with reading and this is no exception. Following along in Benjamin’s adventure was fun. He rose and rose and rose following his passion and love of reading. I love that the copyright symbol was his stamp pf approval in all books. Such a great touch!

Books for Benjamin by R.G.de Rougen 5/5

Benjamin, a worm, would rather read stories than enjoy rotting produce like his family. With the need to read Benjamin sets off on an adventure to find real books instead of food covered clippings from the trash.

This is such a fun read with a clever way that introduces kids to the thrill and excitement that comes with finding a library and books you love to read. I started reading to my children early on because I knew I wanted to share the love of reading to those I loved. The writing style is fun and charming, and the illustrations are adorable.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
