What I like: the cover, premise of the story, sense of place in rural Montana

This book didn't grip me as much as I hoped it would. It was right up my alley. I appreciated the author's sensitivity. It's always fascinating when an author's day job is completely opposite from the art of writing.

What drew me to this book was the setting of Montana. As someone who grew up in Montana, I liked the focus and setting of areas I know and love. While this was included in the description, I underestimated the focus of the book in guns, even though I grew up hunting, I wasn’t expecting it to be included as much as it was.
I loved the aspects about Montana and it made me feel a bit closer to home reading this!

This is really well written, you can really immerse yourself in the writing. Very well done and an enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book. It chronicles one man's growth and evolution while living in Western Montana. If more people felt like him, the challenge of climate change would be easier to meet. This man has a good heart and grows into acting in harmony with it.
