Another stunning thriller from KMod! What happens when the love of your life dies on your wedding day? You have friends help you grieve. You have family. But do you have his family as well? And, what happens when he speaks to you from the grave? This one keeps you guessing as most of her books do! Thanks to NetGalley for the early read.

Not the most twisty thriller but still a solid read. I liked the different aspects of Colby's relationships with each of the three friends. I wasn't sure who to trust and it worked well throughout to learn more about each character and their relationships with the others. I liked the Wedding Day chapters mixed in for some of the backstory.
I liked the narrator but found a few conversational scenes hard to follow due to lack of differentiation between the character's voices.
This was a quick and enjoyable read. Thank you to Dreamscape via Netgalley for the early audiobook to read and review.

3.5 stars

This is a short one. There are a lot of things more than predictable in the book, but i have a soft spot for sweet ending and this one certainly delivers one.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this nice book!

My favorite suspense author has done it again. I always go into her audiobooks with nervous anticipation and she never fails to keep me on the edge of my chair. What happened?? What in the world?? And what???? Really?? OMG!
Kiersten Modglin has talent and a special skill for these types of novels. She’s my good to for suspenseful entertainment. Especially for audiobooks. I really liked the narrator and of course the story. All I can say is Kiersten! You have a great mind for stories! I highly recommend listening to this!

Colbie’s wedding never took place as her fiancee, Phil, was killed before they could be married. They had planned to open a box of letters on their first wedding anniversary, but given that Phil is no longer with her, Colbie decides to read the letters in the company of her closest friends. She knew this experience would be difficult, but she didn’t know that she would discover Phil was not the man she thought he was. The plot line is solid here, but I never felt like I got to know any of the characters, they seemed shallow and one dimensional

I hate to write this review. I typically enjoy Kiersten Modglin so much. So much in fact it was SECONDS between seeing this audio book available on Netgalley, to requesting it, to whooping to download.....

This did not read like a typical Modglin book. Normally she has me guessing and compelled to know the twists and turns. If You're Reading This was slow, boring, uninteresting and a hard listen all the way to the end.

Granted, most thrilling fiction requires a suspension of belief. That is the agreement we make with an author - to accept that in our average lives, we are now on a more adventurous journey even if it seems unlikely. This book wanted us to accept such an odd plot, filled with dull characters, it felt like work.

One year after the unexpected death of the man, Phil, she was meant to spend her life with, Colbie is at an airbnb with her three besties - all men. Her childhood best friend, Phil's best friend who has been there for her for the past year and a guy from the wedding band.

But wait, even more unbelievable, they book a place with 3 bedrooms and 4 people so instead of giving this grieving woman a room of her own, she spends each night moving from bedroom to bedroom and is concerned that she not play favorites. And they are there so she can open a box of letters written to the happy couple to be opened on the one year anniversary. I can't even go on with the plot but it was hard to accept, the writing felt amateurish, and there was not a single character that I cared to know better.

I am so so sorry to dis a KMod book, and I hope people out there who read this as their first of her novels give her writing another chance.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen in exchange for an honest review.

Colbie Moore’s is spending her one year anniversary of her weeing with three of her male best friends. They were friends of her groom who died on their wedding day.

There is a box of letters that they were to open on their anniversary, but she ends up opening them with her friends. One letter in particular is from her groom and has a very dark message. In the letter he reveals that if she is reading this then he is dead.

Do the men, Eric, James and Miles know what is contained in the letter? Do they have something to do with his death? Does she really know the people closest to her?

Another wicked book by Modglin.

Thanks to NetGalley, Kiersten Modglin and Dreamscape Media for this opportunity to listen to an ARC of If You’re Reading This. A sad beginning and a suspenseful ride to the end are what makes this novel different from other psych thrillers. The characters were unbelievably great and true to form. The audio version was delightful because the narrator captured the voices very convincingly. I’ve read most of Kiersten Modglin’s writings and this is one of her best.

Thank for the first listen opportunity!

This is a compelling short listen about a widow (kind of) and her three best guy friends (her only friends). I loved the narrator.
I found the protagonist to be annoying, honestly. She's all "I am not like other girls. Guys don't do feelings or drama" and then the entire story is about these guys and their feelings and drama.
But I liked it because it was all a probable situation for a gal who only hangs out with guys,
