This was an adventure! The forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine trope was such a fun story! I laughed out loud many times, swooned and genuinely enjoyed listening to this gem from Katie Bailey. Definitely give this novel a shot! It will leave your heart and face smiling.

Love, love, LOVE. I was hooked from the very start of this one. I had the audio book and the narrators were fantastic - they really brought Annie and Liam to life. I LOVE a good RomCom - especially one that doesn't have a ton of sexual activities needed to carry the story. All of the supporting characters were great, so excited for the spin off.

This was cute! I’m not one for clean romances, but this one was really good. It kept me interested and I liked the opposites attract of it all. And to find out Liam was covered in tattoos?! OOOOH, GIRL.

A sweet workplace romance mixed with opposites attract. Love it. The tropes that this book enlisted made the story great! Someone who runs late and seems to have a mess of a life meets a regimented workaholic. Both characters are likable and funny which really made them root for them.

I loved the meet cute and the grand gesture and so many moments in-between. For anyone looking for a rom-com book with sweet likable characters I recommend this book. It's quick, lighthearted and very enjoyable.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!

So That Happened is a dual POV, grumpy/sunshine, only one bed, workplace, closed door romance. It was absolutely adorable and so easy to root for the main characters. I especially loved the relationship the MMC had with his niece - showing off that swoony cinnamon roll centre. The narration was great. If you need a quick, fun romcom read this is the one for you.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this ALC!

When Annie’s flight is cancelled the weekend before she starts her new job, she is forced to share a hotel room with a stranger before their rescheduled flight the next day. To her horror, the stranger she shared that hotel room with is her new boss, Liam Donovan. The two try to put it behind them and be professional, but they can’t deny their attraction to each other.

I like that we got this story from the POV of both Annie and Liam. This was a cute romcom that made an excellent escapist read! I’m not always a fan of children in books – they can often be portrayed as acting much older or younger than their age, but I liked Liam’s niece in this story. My biggest problem with the story was that Annie’s awkwardness was sometimes painful to read about. Still, if you’re looking for a sweet romance, this is worth checking out!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

My Thoughts:
I love that this one has two narrators to each handle the characters respective POV’s… this is something that tbh is a must for me in dual POV audiobooks.

I loved the grumpy sunshine and how it was introduced with these two on a plane and then getting stuck sharing a hotel room with only one bed due to a meddling romantic… and then finding out the grump is her new boss… this had a recipe for success for me!

I loved how this one had them come together with some meddling before they knew they were boss and employee and then for them to come together again was from the efforts of more meddling.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my ARC of this audiobook!

This was a super cute, slow-burn, closed-door workplace romance!

Annie is quirky, funny, and unashamedly herself! Liam, at first, comes off as a stern grump, but as Annie gets to know him, she's completely convinced that he is a cinnamon roll on the inside! I think one of my favorite things in this book was Liam's (and his brother Luke's) relationship with his niece! It was so adorable and just proved that Liam is the biggest softie!

Annie and Liam have a rough start to their friendship, but once they get past that, their relationship is the sweetest! Even though this book is closed-door, there is plenty of tension! If you're a Sarah Adams fan, I think you'd enjoy this one! I will definitely be reading more from Katie Bailey!

Annie and Liam met on a plane. He was good-looking but extremely grumpy. She was on her way to start her new job and did not need his negativity. Things got worse when they had to deplane and were stuck at an airport hotel. If course there's only 1 room left. They start to argue about who should get it. In walks Annie's ex. Annie panics and grabs Liam's hand and pretends he is her bf. The hotel clerk hears them say they're together and hands over the single room key. They decide it's either sleep on the gross airport floor or share the room, get some sleep and head their separate ways.
They awkwardly make it through the night, keeping a respectful distance from one another.
When Annie comes out of the bathroom the next morning, he is gone. Annie decides that was a terrible day and an odd night and moves on with her life.
As she walks into her new job, she is shocked- you'll never guess who her boss is?!
✈️you will definitely need to suspend reality for the beginning of this book. However, once you get over the way they met, the story is cute. Clean, closed door romance, but you still feel the chemistry. I like how Liam softens, not just to Annie but to those around him, as he learns to lower his walls. If you are looking for a feel-good romance, or if you're a fan of Hallmark movies, I think you'll enjoy this one!

This is a great example of the friends-to-lovers trope written as a clean romance.

Annie has had a few upsets in her life recently that have caused her to pack it all in and head back home, where she has a new job waiting for her to start on Monday morning. Unfortunately, some issues with the airline mean there are some headaches along the way, and she ends up sharing the last hotel room with the irritating man who sat next to her on the plane. Their other row company was a busy-body elderly woman who kept forcing them together, and it just kept spiraling from there.

So when they finally made it to their destination, Annie was relieved not to have to ever see Liam again. But when she walks into her new place of employment on Monday morning, she discovers he works there too. Not only that, he doesn't just work there--he's her boss!

As they navigate how to get over the embarrassment of their forced weekend together, they begin to soften toward each other until neither could really imagine their life moving forward without the other.

I really liked how the opposites-attract theme played throughout as Liam's detailed and analytical nature clashed with Annie's free-spirited and spontaneous one. And yes, it was goofy at times, but that is all part of the fun of listening to their story.

This was definitely a fun audiobook to listen to. Thank you Katie Bailey, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the advance review copy.

This was so cute!!! Right from the start to the ending!!! Annie our FMC is on her way back to her home city after leaving a breakup with a co worker, the plane gets delayed and Annie runs into her ex at the hotel with out thinking Annie grabs on to the Handsome stranger and pretends that he is her boyfriend and to her surprise he goes along with it! Than to find out the hotel is out of rooms and Annie and Liam are forced to share a hotel room, and when they wake up tangled in each other arms Annie runs! Only to find out the next day that man was her boss!!!! Liam is grumpy, and really closed off. He hasn’t had it easy and he has stepped up to run this company and take care of his family after his mother died especially his niece raised by his single sister. When Annie comes to the company Liam is looking after his niece why his sister is out of town. Both Annie and Liam are so surprised to see each other in the company and don’t know it act but go on normal! Annie was definitely a bit ADHD she was quirky and fun and just all over different and I loved her so much! Her and Liam where the opposites but I loved seeing them fall for each other the course of the book, they really where so good for each other making each other stronger. I loved Liam’s family to, especially Legs! She was so funny and I loved her and Annie’s relationship and how they related ! I loved all the pop culture references in this too! Especially the cat called Harry styles! This was cute closed door Romance! I listened to the audiobook and at first I wasn’t a fan of the man for Liam’s voice especially when he did women’s voices but as the book went on I liked it better! Thank you to the author NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook for review!

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this book…it’s full of cliches and very predictable. I also didn’t find the first section of the book (when the characters meet) believable at all. Sorry, this one wasn’t for me.

The connection between Liam and Annie was a bit rocky to start. I could tell there was definitely an enemies start and loved to see that connection grow over time. I was a bit confused that everything started off with cuddling. Maybe I have been reading too many spicy books but the accidental cuddling did not seem to warrant all of the awkwardness that followed. Overall a great book! Involves workplace romance, enemies to lovers, single bed, and many more excellent tropes. Will definitely be picking up the next book in the series when it comes out as well!

Annie is moving home after a failed relationship and job to live with her parents. Liam is flying home after a business trip. When they get stuck at the airport for the night due to mechanical issues, the airline shuttles them to a nearby hotel for the night. Assuming they are a couple, the hotel clerk rents Annie the last room to share with Liam. Okay, embarrassing, but Annie figures she’ll never see this guy again until she walks into her her job the following Monday morning and finds out he’s her boss.

So That Happened is a sweet, funny rom-com with all the perfect details for a greeting card Christmas Movie, if it was only set during the holidays! Liam and Annie are likable and have great chemistry. The cast of quirky characters that make up their family and friends are entertaining and endearing, adding much to the story. Overall, a quick, easy, fun read!

This was not for me because:
-It was all sweet but no steam
-There were a lot of clichéd lines that felt very over the top.
-Brené Brown is great, but mentioning her six or more times is excessive
-The FMC was so quirky she came off silly rather than fun
-The MMC was pretty flat

You might like it if:
-You dislike any steam in your romances
-You want a tamer version of the second half of The Hating Game
-You love hearing people take about Brené Brown whenever possible

Thank you Katie Bailey, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for my audio advanced review copy. My opinions are my own.

Just a delight. The book is amazing, so I was all over the audiobook. I've mentioned before that an audiobook could ruin a book you actually love. But this one was SO good!

The story was cute. It reads young, but in a way that feels like this could in a library at a middle school or high school. It is romance, but don't expect any spice. Everything was really G rated. I could've done without the "boy oh boy," "Dunkies," and "wowzers" as some measures, but I think that's what made it feel young (to me.)

Tropes:
opposites attract
one bed
office romance: boss/employee

This is a first person /dual POV and each POV has a different narrator. Which I always enjoy.

This book gives the feeling of the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles but with a story of 2 strangers sharing a bed, ending up working together and falling for each other. It's so good it will make you swoon and smile.

Cute opposites attract story. I thought it started out great, had a nice flow, did slow down a bit in the middle, but everything wraps up nicely and was an enjoyable story. Enjoyable characters, had great chemistry and a fun romance.
