"Then she smiles and it's like the whole world lights up. Monochrome becomes technicolor."

So That Happened by Katie Bailey
is an hilarious sweet romcom. Annie and Liam's not so meet cute on a plane and sharing the only room left with just one bed when they are stranded has some hysterical banter for in this grumpy/sunshine romance. When it's morning Liam is gone and Annie gets ready for her new job. Yup! He's her new boss.

Narrator Melissa Moran is perfection as self deprecating wisecracking Annie. Narrator Jason Keller brings depth to Liam's gruff exterior while slowly revealing his vulnerability with Annie. My favorite lines:

"It's hard to control myself with you."
"Then don't."

I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one. Annie was a truly adorable character learning to live and enjoy life. Liam was a grumpy sunshine kind of guy with a heart of gold. This audiobook had my laughing out loud while in grocery story. The way They meet and two lovely older ladies were cute minor characters. I loved legs and their family members. Liam had some wonderful character growth or maybe just realizations. It was nice that even though there was tension and some drama it didn’t emotionally wreck me or stress me out. The problems were resolved nicely. All in all I loved the story itself was a great read, the characters are were fun and enjoyable and the narrator was great to listen too, will definitely be looking forward to the next book.

This was such a fun book to read! I love the quirky main character, Annie! This book made me laugh and anticipate what was going to happen next!

This book was a fun romcom with a lot of swoony chemistry between Liam and Annie as well as an entertaining read. I liked the grumpy/sunshine with Liam being a secret softy with a heart of gold. I laughed at some of the moments especially Annie's confusion over Legs. I also enjoyed all the close proximity between the two, from their "one bed" meet cute to sharing an office, etc. There is some mild swearing and innuendo, but overall, I'd say it falls in the closed-door category.
I listened to the audiobook version and really enjoyed both the dual narration as well as the narrators themselves. I think they each did a great job of bringing Annie and Liam to life and I was hooked listening to them. They spoke clearly and did a fantastic job with the different characters so it was easy to follow along with as I listened and multitasked. I definitely recommend the audiobook version.
I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook via Netgalley, thank you to the publisher. I did purchase an ebook version of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you @netgalley, @authorkatiebailey and @dreamscape_media for the chance to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This one starts with immediate action and "shenANNIEgans". These two are so different and immediately get thrown into awkward situations that don't seem to end, but in the best way. The first few chapters were a little tough to keep my attention but that quickly changed and I couldnt wait to see what situation they got into next. Kudos to the author on some of the mystery in the beginning with Legs. It was hilarious misdirection. While there is sexual tension between Liam and Annie, this one is only kisses! I loved the build up and the connection. I also loved all of the pop culture references! Overall this was super cute, sweet, and swoony!

So That Happened by Katie Bailey was a familiar story that I felt I had read before but still enjoyed. This book made me giggle to myself more often than I do with most books. This book is told in a double POV, which I love. You will be hooked from the moment you open the pages or turn on an audiobook. The narration was fantastic and made me love this book even more.

So That Happened is out now and newly published on audiobook.

Thanks, Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for sharing a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion.

A storyline that has been told many times before and yet this was adorable and heartwarming. Total opposites get thrown together after their flight get cancelled. Assumptions are made that they are a couple and are assigned the very last room in the hotel. The next morning they go their separate ways and that’s that. Or at least it is until Annie shows up for her first day of work only to find out finds out that Liam, the stranger is her new boss. Yikes! They are total opposites, have insane chemistry and yet cannot/will not act on it
as he is her direct boss and the owner of the company and they’re in the running for funding and cannot do anything deemed inappropriate. It’s a laugh out loud bumpy road to their eventual HEA. Really fun read.

Okay. Picture this: I'm sitting in my cubicle at my office job and I'm giggling. Are you wondering what is wrong with me? Or are you wondering if this book is really that enjoyable and laugh out loud educing? I'm sure there is much wrong with me but that does not negate the fact that this book will have you laughing and grinning like a fool.

So That Happened is a series of unfortunate events that just might lead to the best thing to ever happen to our two main characters. Told in dual POV (just as the romance gods intended), you will be hooked from the start and I HIGHLY recommend the audio version. Trust me. You need Annie's antics read out loud in order for you to fully appreciate the hilarity.

So That Happened is OUT NOW and newly available as an audiobook. If it's not already on your tbr, it should be!

The way that Annie and Liam met was so unusual and funny that I really enjoyed it! Great romantic comedy that was fun to read and I enjoyed how close Liam's family is. Annie thinks she might be too much for the straight laced Liam with her eccentric ways but he is attracted to her fun and crazy attitude towards life. And Annie finds out that Liam is actually just a giant cinnamon roll and not the grumpy guy he seems to be.
Definitely a fun read!

I suspect this will be an easy going romance series that fans of Sarah Adams and Melissa Grace will enjoy. It was indeed enjoyable, but didn’t quite do it for me.

So That Happened by Katie Bailey is a sweet, light-hearted, romantic comedy that will have you laughing along with the characters.

This story follows Annie and Liam. Annie is a ray of sunshine who sometimes blurts out the wrong thing and Liam is quiet, thoughtful, and does not like to be social. This book falls in the grump v.s. Sunshine trope with characters that suit each other well. They bring out the best in each other with their banter and chemistry.

An unexpected flight delay and some meddling senior citizens put Annie Jacobs and Liam Donovan in the awkward situation of sharing a hotel room with a stranger. A few days after the incident, Annie arrives at her new job to find that the stranger she shared a room with is her new boss. Not only is he her new boss they will also be sharing an office space while working on a big project. As they spend more and more time together they find it difficult to fight the growing feeling between them.

I loved the pacing of this book. It was filled with tension between the main characters and had a great cast of side characters.

If you are looking for a sweet, swoony, closed-door romance, this book is a great fit!

A glorious comedy of errors that takes the grumpy/sunshine trope and flies with it.
Annie and Liam are delightful both together and apart, and you know from the first moment of their meet-cute that they will make a great couple. I did think that Baily might have taken the whole 'quirky heroine' a bit too far at times, but Liam gets to be quirky as well and that balanced it out.
Overall, it's fun and lighthearted with even the moments that had more weight keeping the rom-com vibe of the book going. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Props to narrators Melissa Moran and Jason Keller for really bringing the characters to life and adding even more sparkle to an already fantastic read.

Very happy thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the fun romantic listen!

What do you get when you throw together a free spirited woman and a grumpy driven loner? A funny and awkward love story full of secret glances and secret longing.

This audiobook was very enjoyable. I found the narration engaging and laughed out loud on a few occasions. Katie Bailey created unique characters and put a fun spin on the grumpy sunshine trope. Annie and Liam are both driven in their careers and when they end up sharing a hotel room together, thanks to an interfering older lady, their lives are destined to be intertwined. Followed by a number of coincidental encounters these two inevitably end up falling in love.
Also, as far as I’m concerned, one can never go wrong quoting the brilliant Brene Brown. I would highly recommend this book!

Many thanks to @netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this early release audiobook.

*3.5

A nice little palate cleansing RomCom.

There were several things that were so funny and relatable, and it was really just hilariously cute. Annie going down a Tik Tok Rabbit Hole when she should be getting things done, Liam letting loose in the car and singing along to One Direction, plus a whole bunch of other stuff that I'm forgetting to add here.

If you're looking for a relatable, funny, Grumpy x Sunshine, ONE BED TROPE kind of book then this is the one for you! Also, there's no big miscommunication fight, so that's also a plus!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for my ALC!

This was such a fun listen! The narrators were entertaining and added something extra special to the story. It’s a light, sweet book with lots of laughs. Highly recommend!

At first it read like fan fiction but the writing got better (or I just got used to it) as I kept going. So many cliches were done throughout the story but they were well done. I binged the story and really enjoyed it. A quick, easy and light read.

I really enjoyed this listen! It had all the Hallmark romance vibes, without being set during Christmas. If you like the opposites attract, cheesy, predictable, work chemistry tropes (which I truly do) then this one’s for you! It was a wonderful break from the thriller kick I’ve been on, and was a feel-good listen while I decorated for Christmas. I can’t wait for Lana’s book to come out now!

I already loved this book but the audio for it was fabulous! As someone who is a bit of a hot mess and kind of always ends up in situations where I'm questioning how I ended up there I could relate so much to Annie. Liam is a true grump but he is still kind as he goes about life.

My only issue was the ending was a little anti-climatic and just kind of fizzled out.
