Katie Bailey is absolutely one of my favorite romcom authors!! Her writing style is perfection with the perfect amount of romance, humor, banter, and romantic tension.

I really enjoyed having both a male and female narrator. It really helped set apart Annie and Liam’s POVs. They did a wondeful job narrating this book!

I can’t wait to listen to this book over and over again!

You can find my review for the book’s content below.

This was my favorite Katie Bailey book yet!! Liam and Annie were made for each other! The grump/sunshine combo here was just utter perfection. Annie was pure spunky sunshine and such a good pairing for the broody, grumpy Liam!

The family dynamics with Liam’s siblings brought a fun dynamic to the story. The kiss scenes were magnificent and the humor was spot on and had me laughing out loud and smiling like a fool. Seriously... I smiled so much while I was reading this book that my husband asked what I was doing🤣

This is not a romcom you want to miss!

Content warning: closed door romance, mild adult language, innuendo

I laughed basically the entire book. The relationship between Annie and Liam reminds me a lot of my relationship with my now husband. They are always joking with each other and picking fun. I also liked how his family took Annie in and included her.

Annie’s flight gets stranded and thanks to the medling old lady who sat next to her, she is now stuck sharing a room with a total stranger who she happens to think is super hot. She wakes up entwined in his arms and is able to go to the bathroom without waking him, but when she comes out, he is gone. She is relieved that she will never have to see him again. When she walks into her new job, she immediately sees the mystery man from that shared hotel room and panics even more when she realizes that he is her boss.

Thanks to @netgalley @authorkatiebailey and @dreamscape_media for this advanced copy!

I have nothing bad to say about this super fun meet cute that contains some of my favorite tropes- grumpy/sunshine, shared bed, forbidden romance and it’s squeaky clean and yet still managed to show them falling in love and have intimate moments. I’m here for it.
Annie is starting over after a bad break up and leaving her job. She’s moving back home and although she’s not thrilled at that idea, she’s excited about her new position at the tech company. That is, until she’s late for her plane and she makes a bad impression on her seat mates. She manages to semi-smooth things over with them and thinks things will be Ok as she will never see them again. That thought lasts until their flight gets grounded for the night and she’s stuck sharing a room with the grumpy guy that was sitting beside her. She leaves in the morning thinking she will still never see him again. Of course, when she gets to her new job, he is the boss, and awkwardness and hilarity ensue, all while they try to fight feelings for each other. He is stiff and regimental and she is free spirited and despite their differences they bring out the best in each other.
There were fun supporting characters as well including a cat named Harry Styles!
I will definitely be picking up more by this author. And the narrators did a great job. I loved the 2 POV from both Liam and Annie’s perspective
Thanks to Eleventh Avenue Publishing and NetGalley for this audiobook arc in exchange for my review

Cute opposites attract/ Grumpy-Sunshine/ Boss-Employee romance. The pacing was a bit off, it took forever for the romance to build up and then it was instant I love yous, which was even less believable since they were very, very celibate.

So That Happened is a cute slow burn romance that was such a pleasure to read. This book has everything a fun rom-com should have: witty banter - check, grumpy buttoned up dude who turns out to be a softy with tats - check, awkward but endearing self-assured woman - check. It also has some of my favorite troupes like the single bed, but with a twist. Like they share a bed before they even really know one another.

The book is a light, fun, and easy read that will put a smile on your face. I listened the audio book and the dual POV with the two narrators was perfect. Both narrators did an excellent job with the voices and emoting the dialogue. I will definitely be looking up ither books read both those two!

Overall, highly recommend!

Light hearted, funny, vanilla, fluffy read. Not my normal speed but very cute & a refreshing change of pace. The relationship in this book was adorable & fun. The way the “problem” was resolved was super cheesy & easy but still a good plus read.
This book is also just focused around the relationship there’s no balance in the characters but, still a 3/5 from me!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an early copy of the audiobook for So That Happened.

We've all met quiet, brooding men that captivate our attention - only for us to never break the surface. Liam is that guy and Annie is able to break the surface. This book encompasses so many tropes: forced proximity, shared bed, grumpy sunshine, workplace romance, and even borderline enemy to lovers - there is something for everyone.

Liam's good deed of giving up his first class seat to a disabled, elderly woman led to him meeting Annie - the middle seat passenger who held up the plane because she was busy hiding from her ex in the bathroom. When their flight gets cancelled and the airline shuttles them to a hotel - they are left staying in the last available room together. The next morning - after they unexpectedly awaken embraced in each others arms - they go their separate ways. Only for Annie to discover on the first day of her new job that Liam is her boss, the owner of the company, and that she has to share an office with him!

This book is full of cute blunders and witty remarks and the attraction between Annie and Liam slowly burns throughout. It is such a cute read, I recommend it to anyone that wants to be entertained and feel better about their own blunders.

Cute romance between uptight Liam and free spirit Annie. A nice, easy listen. My only nitpick is that I wasn’t crazy about the male narrator, and I found it especially grating when he did the female voices. It just really took me out of the story! But overall, I enjoyed this one.

Let me start out saying I'm experiencing serious book withdrawal from this book!

Grumpy/sunshine, one bed, close proximity, workplace romance

Absolutely adored this book. This was a true romcom making me laugh so much I couldn't contain it. I loved Annie and Liam so much. I couldn't put this book down and finished the whole thing within a day. It was such a sweet story. 10/10 recommend reading...and rereading!

I was sooo excited when I was approved for this ARC on Netgalley🎧 The story is exactly what I expected: a super cute fun read! So ironic how Annie(who is a HAWT MESS) and Liam met and then ended up working together. Lexs played a cute role in the story as well. Great characters. The energy of the narrators’ voices was EVERYTHING! 5 STARS! Will be recommending this book in my book club!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this one, but I absolutely adored it! I knew that it was a workplace romance and that the main character had my name (funny listening to that - makes me feel more immersed in the story!).

Grumpy Liam Donovan gave up his seat on a plane to a nice older lady, and ended up seated beside chatty and super sunshiney Annie. The lovely older lady's sister was still there, and the two ladies tried playing matchmaker when the plane went mechanical and had to disembark and spend the night in an airport hotel... telling the desk clerk that they were a couple, when they were out in the lobby running into Annie's terrible ex, and she was trying to save face. Liam played along, but they wound up together in the last available room, with just one bed? Oh, all the tropes come out in this one!

When Annie shows up at Liam's office a couple of days later as the new hire, it couldn't be more terrible (for him) - having felt the attraction towards her and having created a strict no fraternizing policy for his company, nothing can happen. As the days go by and she gets in tight with his sister, brother, niece, (her parents), employees - and everyone assumes they're secretly falling for each other, it's getting harder to hide that mutually growing interest.

"There are no mistakes, only happy accidents." A great tagline for the whole book! Super well written, fantastic chemistry with not just Liam and Annie, but the entire cast, and the pacing for the slow burn is perfect, plus all the other tropes: one bed, office romance, grumpy/sunshine, slightly fake relationship, opposites attract, meddling ex, and a bunch of other tropes thrown in. It's closed door, but there is a bunch of kissing, for anyone wondering the steam level. The storyline here is just absolutely what I needed right now - RomCom with the right amount of longing and no drama or big emotions, this is a fantastic winner in my eyes! A huge recommendation for absolutely everybody!

For the audio, it's narrated by a new favourite of mine, who seems to be doing a ton of titles lately, Melissa Moran, as well as a new to me male narrator, Jason Keller. They both did a fantastic job, and I love seeing Melissa's name on a new book whenever I pick it up! I know I'm in for an excellent listen. Jason's voice was great, and I know he'll be a perfect addition to the narrator world. The only note I had for this one, is that Liam was supposed to be a grumpy character, and Jason's performance was super happy sounding the entire way through! Perhaps he should have downplayed the role (made him sound a little more grumpy or gruff, and not so darn happy!) at the start and then brought out that sunshine towards the end, when Liam's character was finally giving in to the feelings. Otherwise, a brilliant job.

I received an advance listen copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, and this is my honest feedback.
