Super cute patterns and designs!

Vincent Green-Hite gives great beginner instruction and directions for those just getting into crochet and ready for some fun projects! These project definitely will keep you interested and are much better than just a plain old pot holder to work on your crochet skills.

I appreciate the explanations in words and pictures of each stitch as well as the overview of crocheting abbreviations and terms. This is definitely useful info I can take into harder projects. I am looking forward to creating some fun amigurumi with this book!

Knot bad Amigurumi by Vincent Green-Hite is an informative book for people learning Amigurumi.
The book starts off with an introduction of the author as well as what is Amigurumi all about and what one requires to get you going. Then the artist gives us 2 easy patterns which are very beginner friendly and the fact that this book is written a man even makes it more interesting. The story of the author is very inspiring for men how only think that crochet is only a women’s or grandma craft.

The things that I liked about the book:
Detailed and step by step instructions
Clear pictures for each step.
Instructions on how to fix eyes and make other face features.
I also liked that the Amigurumi are not very large in size.

Overall, this is a must have if you want to try your hand at Amigurumi and learn something new.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers at Quarto Publishing group and the author Vincent Green-Hite for this ARC.

This is a brilliant book for beginners. It is written using American stitches and the great thing about it, is the patterns aren’t very long and are fairly straightforward. There are 25 cute projects to create and a very good section explaining how to do the stitches. I recommend this for anyone who wants to dip their toe into amigurumi. Thank you #netgalley

I thought this book would be a good introduction into crochet for my 8 year old, but I've become addicted to amigurumi too.

The characters to crochet are fun and appealing. The book is aimed at beginners with step by step instructions for each stitch in the intro.

Having never crocheted before, this book has inspired me and I'll be making my way through this book taking requests from my children.

Loved it!

For someone who knows the basics of crocheting this is a fun book to read through. The amigurumi patterns were easy to understand and final products ends up looking suuuuper cute (I’m a big fan of boba tea and pizza patterns). Although the author provides the tutorials for most of the stitches, I think the colour changing and sewing the parts together still could be potentially challenging for complete beginners. Nonetheless, I think this is a good book to start your journey with amigurumi :)

I love Vincent, I first discovered him on social media and his crochet to heavy metal vids made me a fan for life so I jumped at the chance of reading his book!
Knot Bad Amigurumi (fantastic title btw) is everything and more you could ask for from a crochet book! The beginning goes into detail explaining terminology materials and equipment. There's even a step by step guide (with pictures!!) on how to do basic stitches which is great for anyone like me who doesn't automatically memorise every stitch. It's a great reference guide.
Vincent's patterns are super cute and easy to follow with pictures too!
It's a great book for anyone wanting to do amigurumi!

Knot Bad Amigurumi: Learn Crochet Stitches and Techniques to Create Cute Creatures with 25 Easy Patterns by Vincent Green-Hite is currently scheduled for release on November 8 2022. Create the unexpected: a smiling rocket ship, a jubilant glass of boba tea, a joyful acorn, a breezy beach hat, and much more. These modern characters spring from the imagination of crochet artist Vincent Green-Hite (Instagram: @knot.bad; TikTok: @knotbad), who loves sharing his designs and techniques with the world. In addition to beginner-friendly patterns, the book includes a rundown of basic materials such as yarns and hooks, step-by-step stitch tutorials, instructions for embroidering appealing faces, advice on working with color, and ideas for customizing patterns. You’ll learn how to give your amigurumi a clean, professional look with easy methods for stuffing, attaching, and finishing pieces. Build your skills and become a more confident creative as you work your way through each charming pattern.

Knot Bad Amigurumi is a well written and organized instructional book. I thought the information of supplies and technique were accessible and understandable, and I think novice crocheters will find it that way as well. My favorite thing about this book is that the designs and projects are different. They are not the some animals, creatures, and objects that you can find in a hundred other books and online. They are also very cute. I am very much looking forward to trying my hand at several of these patterns. I will say that I learned something, because I never really thought about 'Yarn Punk" even though I never really felt like I fit in with the typical fiber arts folks, or really wanted to. I like the emphasis here on crafting the style and way you want to, without trying to fit a particular mindset or the expectations of others. I wholly support that idea and always have, and love seeing that individuality encouraged here.

"Knot Bad Amigurumi" by Vincent Green-Hite does two things very well. It demonstrates that crochet, like other crafts can provide someone with an outlet if they are experiencing stress or mental health problems. It also demonstrates that it isn't the preserve of elderly women and can be enjoyed by men. However, whilst I think this is brilliant, I am not sure that this book adds much more to the range of books already out there regarding Amigurumi. The patterns are simple, and easily constructed, but the instructions about how to complete each stitch are more complicated than they need to be. Therefore, whilst the patterns will appeal to a new crocheter, I suspect that person will also need accompanying video tutorials/other books to help them to understand the stitch instructions.

The needle arts have many different skill sets but my favorite i crochet.....yes, I'm a hooker. Crochet has been practiced and shared for many centuries but most crochet artists are women.....or they used to be. Check YouTube these days and you'll find that there is a quickly growing trend of male designers and creators. In KNOT BAD AMIGURUMI, Vincent Green-Hite shows off his skills while sharing some basic stitches and accessories that he has used to create these adorable creatures using a hook, some yarn and alot of skill. The patterns are clear and easy to follow while you quickly become a master crochet addict just like me.

This is a darling book of crocheted creatures. I love that it’s written by a young man. We need more diversity in the crafting author world. I was really impressed with the abundance of detailed photos throughout. This is one of the few crochet pattern books that I could see a beginner being successful with. Vincent’s warm personality comes through and the patterns are varied and cute.

I read a temporary digital arc of this book for review.

I follow Vincent on instagram and I love making things and this was great! Cute patterns and easy to follow. I will say if I were a beginner I may have been a little confused.

I've followed Vincent on Instagram for a while, so it was great to finally review some of his patterns. I do feel the tutorial part would benefit by separating the concept of rows and rounds. A beginner might become muddled as the two techniques intertwine the how-to part.
The patterns, on the whole, are pretty sweet and although not all to my taste, I would probably make some of the forest creatures.

I haven't attempted any of the patterns in this book yet but they all look easy to follow and so well designed. There are some great tutorials on how to crochet for beginners at the start of the book and I am really looking forward to attempting my first creation when I have some free time.

A cute handful of patterns. The tutorial section is easy to follow with good pictures. Pattern range from easy to more complicated but nothing crazy. Patterns are more for adults than kids, just based on the types of items. Overall a good resource if you want patterns for these types of items even if a beginner.

This book is PERFECT for beginners! I've bought other Amigurumi books before and ended up having youtube tutorials for some of the stitches they require but this book goes into enough detail that you shouldn't need anything other than the materials listed!
