I loved this book. The topics explored are often done in a very poor represented way. The author covers these topics very well! The emotions I felt when reading this made it feel personal. It’s one of the best books I’ve read this year

This is one of the best novels-in-verse that I have ever read! It's so realistic, well-written and full of heart.

The author explored topics such as being a foster child and having a loved one who's struggling with substance abuse with lots of care and sensitivity. She also did a fantastic job in writing Alex's complicated relationship with her mother; both characters were relatable and I felt deeply for them. Their special bond was evident and I loved the natural progression as their fractured relationship started to mend. Many will be able to relate to Alex's conflicting feelings.

Highly recommend this book that left me emotional. I will definitely be looking out for the author's future works.

I found this collection to be an unexpected surprise. The flow between works was effortless and page turning.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

It took me a few pages to reformat my mind to throw away the traditional poetry or short story format and I'm glad I did

Right on Cue made me feel like I was reading a friend's diary. The emotions are real and so familiar. It's aa wonderful example of what poetry can be. It really makes one want to keep reading and that's good because the story keeps getting more complicated, yet juicy. I guess almost a voyeur effect.

I might try reading this book again when I have more time, but it started off good! I'm hoping to get back to reading it. Sabine Bradley is a newer named author for me.

I don't even have words to describe how beautiful this was. I honestly didn't know it was verse written when I went into it and they aren't something I read very often but honestly this was perfect for this book.
Alex's relationship with her mam was a difficult one and it's always hard to understand people with addiction and to forgive them was even harder. This was wonderful to read.

I do not want to call this book a collection of poetry. It just does not seem that way. But I will say that this book is a life story in poetry form. I am amazed by this book. The reason is, I went through some of what Alex went through. Its not easy writing a life story about parents being substance abusers. This author wrote the life of Alex day by day, month by month and year by year. This book caught me off guard because I did not know what to think. Beautifully written and everyone really should read it.

I received a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review

this book is so raw and reel. I really loved how vulnerable Alex was in telling her story. This story showed how hard and difficult foster care and addiction are and how many people can be affected. I think telling this story in verse was definitely the best decision for this novel and made it go by quickly without feeling overly rushed.
