This book was so good! I loved everything about it. The fact that it's the start of a series makes it pretty appealing to me. Add in that it's about four foster brothers starting and running a security business and you can just take my money right now. There were so many different aspects to the characters and they had so much depth. They were so different and yet the chemistry between them was so strong. Luke definitely had me swooning. And while we learned a bit about his foster brothers, I am so freaking excited to learn even more about them as each of them gets their own book.

I like that Claire was also someone Luke knew when he was a child and they met during their time in foster care. It brought a different aspect to their relationship than what is typically seen. Plus, it makes the progression of their relationship even better because they don't start out the book as strangers. I love it when one of the main characters is someone from the past of another character.

Claire and Luke haven't seen each other in years. But Claire tracks him down after she witnesses a murder and the killer is after her. She knows that there is only one person she can trust to help her and that person is Luke. I also liked that the other brothers get involved in helping to protect Claire but it's from the perspective that they have always seen Claire as another member of their family. Plus, it's obvious that they all know there is a strong connection between Claire and Luke.

While Janie doesn't keep it a secret as to who the killer is, that doesn't mean this one is lacking in mystery. And it certainly isn't lacking in action. Knowing who the killer is and trying to keep Claire safe don't go hand in hand and the killer proves to be someone that is difficult to escape. This is one I definitely recommend! I'll be waiting with bated breath for the next book in this series! I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and thoughts.

This book had me hooked legit on the first page!
I could not put it down and read the whole thing in one day!

Highly recommend to anyone that loves crime/suspense/murder/ romance and of course a sexy love interest!

Claire Wallace is a antisocial anxiety ridden self proclaimed cat lady.. and no one’s hero… until she happens to witness her boss murder her coworker over video chat. Armed with files on a drive that could ruin Vance Ballard- her boss- she Knows it won’t be long before he realizes it was her. Scared for her life she runs home to grab her guard “dog-cat” and money and almost gets killed in the process by people sent by Vance to kill her and there not going to stop until it’s done.

That brings her to Luke Patterson, a blast from the past and a sexy one at that. She needs his help before her boss sends someone else to attempt to take her life!

Now I don’t want to give away the whole book - I love it so much it’s legit killing me not to- but just know you will not regret reading this book!

10/10! One of the best books I’ve read in while and I read a lot!

Thank you Janie Crouch for writing this novel, you’ve gained a forever fan! I can’t wait for the next book in this series! And finally thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy of this book for an honest review!

This is a nonstop action storyline with a rich, powerful killer trying to stop at nothing to keep the truth from being known. I thought the story was more interesting with the Luke Patterson and his story than I did the actual suspense plot. I enjoyed seeing how he protected and cared for Claire. I can see why he was a bodyguard with his caring nature and his past.

CW: closed door romance, some swearing

3.5/5 Stars

I received a complimentary copy of this book through the publisher and NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on Feb 21st

Texas Bodyguard Luke is the first book in the San Antonio Security series by Janie Crouch. A romantic suspense, this book had more action and suspense than it does romance. I loved the characters in this book, and also learning how they can to be a family and so close to each other. I loved the cat which was more than protective than a dog would be. I would recommend this book to everyone.

I received and ARC from NetGalley and the publisher Harlequin Intrigue for free, I am leaving this review voluntarily and the opinion expressed here are my own.

Texas Bodyguard: Luke by Janie Crouch will appeal to fans of romantic suspense with compelling characters. Luke is one of four brothers that own their security business. I cracked up at how he hated the paperwork side of the business. All four of the brothers were foster kids that found a great home and were raised together. I am already looking forward to each brother getting their story.

This one focused on Luke and Claire. Luke knew Claire from the foster home. She is now all grown up and a computer guru. The CEO of her company ends up being a really bad guy and she has to go on the run.

I was hooked from the first page. Trying to read this story slowly is impossible.

Sexual content – behind closed doors. They slept together but there were no details.
Violence – she sees someone murdered, they bad guys are after her

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Claire and Luke knew each other through the foster system and when Claire finds herself a witness to a murder she reaches out to Luke for help. Luke transforms into protector mode with Claire and will do anything to help her.

Great read and I hope to read more about Lukes brothers in the upcoming security firm stories!

Being a huge Janie Crouch fan, I was beyond excited when I saw that she had a new Intrigue series. Having met the Patterson boys, I'm ready for book two!

Luke Patterson had a hard life for the first fourteen years until he was adopted by the Pattersons and learned what it was like to have parents and siblings. He learned his lessons so well that he started a security business with his brothers, but he never forgot the little girl he protected when he was twelve.

Quiet and meek Claire Wallace likes flying under the radar, where she can do her work quietly and unbothered. That worked all her life until she got tangled up in an event at Passage Digital that had her fleeing for her life. That's when she hunts down the only man who has ever helped her, Luke Patterson. When she walks into his office, she can see immediately that he remembers her and will help her.

And that's exactly what he does. Not just Luke, though. His whole family gets in on protecting and shielding Claire while they try to stop Vance Ballard from hunting her down and killing her. That's easier said than done since her ex-boss seems to know more about her than he should.

Claire and Luke are forced together and find that their childhood crush is still in full swing, only they're no longer kids and can act on their desires. You can cut the chemistry and the tension with a knife in this intrigue, which is something Ms. Crouch is excellent at in her books. What I especially loved in this second-chance romance was that Luke and his brothers didn't count out Claire as weak and unable to help solve her own problems. They included her and listened to her when she had ideas to move them to the next step in taking down Vance. And, when the chips were down, Claire could always count on her buddy, Khan, the only cat who thinks he's a dog!

You don't want to miss this new Intrigue series from Janie Crouch!

I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review. This is the first in a new series from Crouch. Security Expert Luke never thought he would every see Claire, but she came to visit him at his San Antonio Security Office. Claire is in trouble, and she needs Luke’s help. She works at Passage Digital, and she found out that the CEO Vance Ballad is planning to steal information and use it to gain wealth and her boss, Julia ends up being killed by the CEO because she found out what he was up to. Clarie witnessed the murder over the computer and Ballad is framing Clarie for the murder. She runs to Luke because he is the only one, she can trust to help her. Claire is terrified that no one will believe her, and her evidence is hidden in the cloud on the Passage Digital system. Luke knew Claire from foster care and believes that she is innocent of this crime. Claire and Luke are on the run from both the cops and Ballad, who is doing everything he can to kill Claire and destroy the evidence. Read and find out if Claire and Luke will be able to prove that Claire is innocent and will they have a future together. A quick and delightful read from Crouch. A great start to a new series.

Loved this book!!! Claire is a shy waif who keeps her head down and stays out of the way. She has no friends, just a very large cat. When she is sucked into a dangerous situation, the only thought she has is to reach out to the boy she knew as a child. He is now a partner in a security firm and has frequently thought of Claire. Luke quickly steps into help, and soon realizes just how deep the conspiracy runs.

This is tightly woven romantic suspense at its best. The characters are likable and made me feel invested in their story and wanting them to get a HEA ending. I was totally engrossed in their story and couldn't wait to see what happened next.

This is a must read for fans of the genre. Put this one a the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
