Thank you Net Galley for the advance copy.

I was truly excited about this book since reading "Things We Never Got Over". I couldn't wait to read Lina and Nash's story and now I CANNOT WAIT FOR SLOANE AND LUCIEN'S STORY.

This story immediately transports you back into Knockemout, VA with all of the fun, quirky characters. I loved how the book did center itself around Nash and Lina but also gave you peeks into Knox and Naomi's lives as well. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I only had to put it down so I could go to work!

Wow! Stunning! Amazing!

Just when I thought that it couldn't get any better, Lucy Score created Nash Morgan. This book had me giggling, blushing, kicking my feet and screaming "where's my small town romance" out into the abyss.

This book picks up where ‘Things We Never Got Over’ left off. It has the same cast of characters you loved in the first, but follows Nash and Lina, Knox's brother and best friend. This book was incredible but I expected nothing less from the queen of romance.

This book features two characters who experience panic attacks and I felt that this very difficult topic was handled really well.

I cannot wait for Lucian and Sloanes story because I am not ready for this series to be over. Lucy Score you have my heart. Thank you for creating these characters.

Perfect for fans of:
- brothers best friend
- small town romance
- that one scene in Gilmore Girls when Luke buys Lorelei those earrings
-i can only sleep when I know you're sleeping beside me
- puppy rescues

A joyful return to Knockemout and its wonderful, quirky citizens. I loved this book. Loved the storyline, the characters and the ever present hum of excitement generated by the author. I laughed and I cried tears of joy.
It sucked me in hard. A great achievement for any book. I enjoyed it more than the first book, perhaps because I "knew" the people. I wasn't expecting such a rich, full story but I sure got one. Stunning and beautiful.

I couldn't wait for this one to come out once I finished the first. Thank goodness for an arc from Netgalley and the publisher. I'm entranced by the citizens of Knockemout, and their goings on. All opinions my own, now I am off to pout until #3 is finished. (Sloane and Lucian? Yes, please!).

4.5 stars rounded down!

Thank you so much Sourcebooks Bloom Books and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review!!

I LOVED this book, it was everything I wanted and more! I was a little nervous going into this one since I liked the first so much, but I think Score took what needed to be improved on from her last, and wrote the heck out of this. Nash and Lina had a fun and fiery dynamic, I liked the conflict Score created - it was a lot less 'out of the blue' and dare I say more believable (as believable as a romantic suspense book can be) than the rather abrupt ending of the last. Lina's 'take no bullshit' attitude was a nice change from the last book, her character was really fun to read about. I also appreciated the approach Score took towards Nash's trauma, and how it wasn't something glazed over or deemed "unimportant."

I think one of Lucy Score's biggest strengths is her ability to write meaningful and fun side-characters who aren't tossed to the side or overshadowed by the MC's. I was excited to catch up and see little glimpses of Naomi and Knox again, Waylay, and of course Lucian and Sloane, whose chemistry cracks off the page. I am now anxiously looking forward to the third book in the 'Knockemout' series (which of course is Lucian and Sloane!!!!)

The perfect sequel to an amazing book. I just love the balance of steamy with cute with suspense that Lucy Score put into this book. The moments we got to see of Naomi + Knox + Waylay were absolutely everything.
I cannot wait for Lucien's story.

This book was so enjoyable. TWNGE was my top book of 2022 so I came into this book with some definite high expectations. It didnt disappoint at all.

I loved seeing the town again and the grumpy sheriff. The development of the characters (all of them) and the mystery were perfectly paced and believable. I can't wait to read it again and to have a permanent keeper on my shelf.

Recommend for. everyone

This was the perfect follow up to the first book in the series Things We Never Got Over, because we got to know so much more about the other Morgan brother, Nash. Nash is a complicated man, and falling in love with an even more complicated woman will change him in so many ways. I loved the chemistry between Lina and Nash. I also loved the cameos of the beloved characters from the first book - Naomi, Knox, Waylay, Stef, Sloane, Liza J, and all the others. I especially can't wait for the next book which will be Lucian and the spunky librarian, Sloane. Maybe because I am a spunky librarian myself, but I just can't wait to hear more about their past.

Super excited to be back in Knockemout! I was so obsessed with Things We Never Got Over, and absolutely could not wait for Things We Hide From the Light. Nash and Lina’s story was great! Definitely a slower burn, but the chemistry and sexual tension was still there. This book has even more suspense and action than the first one, full of cops, bounty hunters, and bad guys. I love all the characters and this small town so much! Another great read. Lucian and Sloane’s book can’t come soon enough!

Another great book from Lucy Score. The bonus epilogue was everything my heart needed and more. Slow start but so worth it!

This is the second book in the Knockemout series. I read Things We Never Got Over first and enjoyed it. I didn't love TWHFTL as much, but it was still a great read. There was a little more drama and crime in this book compared to the first. To be honest, I didn't love Lina (*hidesface*) so I had a hard time championing her with Nash (who I did love!). I will say that I am SOOOO looking forward to Sloane and Lucien's story - theirs is the one I'm waiting for.
Nash and Lina are both very strong personalities and while I liked their characters I just couldn't decide if I liked them together. Either way, another great Lucy Score novel that brought the steam and angst with a side a of crime and punishment. Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Bloom Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Alpha male ✔️ Angst ✔️ Spice ✔️✔️

Romance with a little mystery in it. Nash & Lina’s story didn’t disappoint. Nash, our wounded town police chief, recovering from being shot and still trying to solve the case. Lina, our bad ass heroine with her own wounds and her own agenda for being in town. And a magnetism neither can deny…for long. 🔥 (And Knox & Naomi’s upcoming wedding too.)

It can be read as a stand-alone but it does pick up with characters from book 1. (Hello Knox! Oh, how I’ve missed you.) And definitely sets the stage for Lucian & Sloane’s story next.

I just love this series. I literally can’t wait for Lucian’s book!

Let’s just be honest before I get into the review. If you haven’t read Things We Never Got Over, then you need to read it before you read this one. There are a few loose ends in terms of plotlines you won’t understand unless you read the first book. Aside from that, you’re good to start this one upon finishing it.

Things We Hide From the Light follows Nash who after the events of book 1 is feeling jaded and totally unlike himself and the romance he has with Lina, his brother Knox’s best friend. While it might seem like these two have nothing in common, the attraction between them can’t help but sizzle amidst all of the plot going on.

Before getting into the plot, I have to gush about the romance. Nash and Lina seem like they’re going to be complete opposites, but the two can’t stay away from each other. Nash wants to protect Lina despite everything he’s dealing with and all Lina can seem to do is take care of him unlike anyone else in his circle can.

Both of these characters go through so much during the story. Nash, he’s dealing with the aftermath of being shot along with having to try and retain a somewhat normal life. Lina, she’s working on an undercover mission involving someone who hurt Nash and dealing with the effects of a near-death experience from childhood.

While Nash and Lina are dealing with a lot individually, the two are also thrust together for Naomi and Knox’s wedding which is being planned in the background. Everything comes to a head amidst trying to figure out who shot Nash, what they want, and how the group can finally take them down.

Similar to Things We Never Got Over, this one doesn’t skimp on the action. If anything, that bit of romantic suspense in the small-town backdrop works. Maybe it’s how Lucy Score writes, but it never feels over the top. Let me just say that the weapon Lina used at the very end of the book was a thing of beauty and in a word: iconic.

Everything about Things We Hide From The Light was delightful, but I will say proceed with caution especially if you’re sensitive to topics including heart conditions, an alcoholic parent, and gun violence. Aside from that, you can expect a cute dog, tons of cute and fun moments between Lina and Nash, and easily one of my favorite fictional friend groups.
