A necklace delivered to the wrong person with the same name, Allison, who goes in search for the missing person that shares her name. It was a good romantic suspense story with a cliffhanger, so I would have prefers to read the full series at once.

Although I was quite enjoying the book and have reached the halfway point have decided not to continue. I’m happy to read series with the same characters etc but not happy to discover all three need to be read before there’s any sort of conclusion. By the time any follow ups are available I would have lost all interest in the first and so it would be a waste of time to carry on, no matter how entertaining or enjoyable!

I want to state that every review is mood based. Not every day is the same, and opinions of some things, can always change based on the mood we're in.

There may also be spoilers, so read at your own risk.

I sincerely don't know where to start with this book. I started it months ago, and i have been in a slump on / off so i do think it affects my opinion here. But the case is, i DNF'ed it multiple times while slumping, because this book, is very confusing for me.

It has multiple short chapters (67 total), and i think it is too much by the end of it, like some chapters are literally 1-2 pages in the beginning, but yeah i don't know how to write a book, i just found it weird.

There was a scene at some point that seemed to rushed and confusing into the mix of the book all of the sudden, and i still haven't figured out what happened, it was so random and fast paced for me between the two main characters -
there is also a smut scene where it goes from smut, to a 360* fight all of a sudden, i have not experienced this kind of thing myself, so i have a hard time picturing this type of thing being realistic.

and the weird mystery about this book, just seems like there is no red strings, and no progress at all, very unsure what this book is really about honestly, it goes back and forth with the end goal.

HUGE DISLIKE: The main characters uses her crushes FULL name and occupation every other sentence for the first half of the book, after that it is just the first name and uses it less frequently.

The book is also left on a weird huge cliffhanger, so let's see if you continue after this book, because i will not be doing that.

Power and money do not define a man, good or bad. But character does. And anyone with a good character knows that you can't buy love, not even with diamonds.

I'd like to think that love is priceless, but i've learned that when the very concept of love is subjective, os is the cost.

I finally got around to reading this one. I enjoyed reading What If I Never, and I may continue on with the series.
I can't say it was amazing, or that I'm super attached the the characters. I do like our main character, Allie. She is very independent but has her issues. Her priorities are definitely straight. She's settled in a lot of things in her life, which I think isn't typical in romance.

I really like our romantic interest Dash. A very successful author, he's very appealing to us readers. He's tall, handsome, and knows what he wants and truly a gentleman....outside of the bedroom anyway. I think I'm more attached to him that to Allie, but this is not a romance that will stick with me. That is why I can't guarantee I'll continue on.

I also liked the super short chapters! The reading flew by because of them.
I didn't find many issues with grammar or editing, which was another pleasant surprise!

Overall, this was an average adult romance for me. Enjoyable, but not a favorite!

I love a little bit of adventure in my romance books. It was a very quick read, which I enjoy.

Allie is a great main character. Dash was of course mysterious. This is the first book in a series, can't wait to see what happens in book 2!

"What If I Never" is an enticing and intriguing romance novel that takes readers on an emotional roller coaster ride. The premise of a misplaced gift leading to a chance encounter with the charming and mysterious Dash Black immediately captures the reader's attention. The characters are well-developed and have complex backstories that add depth and dimension to the plot.

The chemistry between Allison and Dash is palpable from the moment they meet, and the author does an excellent job of building up the tension and anticipation between them. Their passionate and intense romance is filled with both light and dark moments, adding to the emotional depth of the story.

The plot is well-paced and full of unexpected twists and turns that keep readers on their toes. The theme of secrets and how they can impact relationships is a recurring one throughout the novel, and the way the author explores this theme adds another layer of complexity to the story.

Overall, "What If I Never" is a captivating and enthralling romance novel that will appeal to fans of the genre. The author's writing style is engaging and immersive, drawing readers into the story and keeping them invested until the very end. The first book in the Necklace Trilogy, it sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting and intriguing series.

In this novel, we meet Alison's history, a girl that lives in her native town for a couple of months. Because of her mother's recovery from cancer. But one day, when she is at work, a package arrived at her temporary job in the museum. This package contains a beautiful necklace with a note, but it was for a different Alison that works nearby.
She with all her kindness decides to give the other Alison the package in hand, in an office near her. But when she arrives, she discovers that the other Alison isn't there, and in the office, they don't know where she is. So she decides to give the receptionist her card in case, she appears.
This is an opportunity for a future job for substitute her, in her office while she is absent. But she is going to work in her office and also lives where she was living.
All of this while Alison wants to know what happened to the other Alison to give her the necklace back. But all is going to get complicated...

A book that hooks you to discover the truth about Alison's life and where she is. Because in the book, the only thing that appear are more interrogations about everything. Also, you want to know the history of Dash and Tyler, as you read the book you are going to discover it.
Is a story about needing the second part at the exact moment as you finish the first part. Because of the end that has, you are not going to believe anything. The story where we see the evolution of the different characters, as they develop themselves and try to figure out what to do with their lives in the difficult situations. Also, we see the fear to close a chapter, to start a new one that could be very important for them.

This is the first book I have read by this author and not knowing what to expect I was happy I chose it. It is the first book in a trilogy. Great character development – the chemistry between Dash and Allison was obvious from the start. It starts with a case of mistaken identity which opens a mystery that keeps the reader guessing. A pager turner I couldn’t wait to finish, which sadly ended in a cliffhanger. At least I know there are 2 more good books in my future.

Read this book, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you NetGalley, Lisa Renee Jones and Julie Patra Publishing for the copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Allison received a diamon necklace but it’s not for her. When she attempts to get it back to its correct owner it lead her into the sites of two strong and powerful men. Along with both comes darkness and secrets. Warning this is a cliffhanger, but you will not want to miss it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

The start of a new trilogy! Lisa Renee Jones writes romantic suspense like few others. And man does she know how to leave it on a cliffhanger. Allie is home in Nashville while her mom is finishing cancer treatments. Now that her mom is on the mend, Allie can’t bring herself to go back to her life in NYC. She is working a temp job when she gets a beautiful diamond necklace delivered to “Allison” by mistake. When she tried to take it to the correct Allison, she stumbles on a new job, a new love, and a new mystery. What happened to the old Allison. As Allie finds herself taking over more and more of old Allison’s life, she finds herself worried about what may have happened to Allison. And if she is in the same danger…

Review to be continued with Part 2 of this trilogy but so far I’m loving it. Can’t put it down. Must know what happens next!

Thank you you NetGalley for providing me with this book!

This book started off really good. I was very interested in the mystery surrounding the necklace and Allison. However, as it went on it got confusing and I felt as if I was missing plot points. The relationship described in the book falters on the line of being toxic. While I enjoyed reading the book, I was expecting a bit more from it,

Fairly standard for the genre. Interesting plot line and I'd easily pick up the next one in the series. Fast paced and even writing.

What If I Never by Lisa Renee Jones.
Necklace Trilogy, book one.
A necklace delivered to the wrong Allison: me. I'm the wrong Allison.
That misplaced gift places a man in my path. A man who instantly consumes me and leads me down a path of dark secrets and intense passion. Dash Black is a famous, bestselling author, but also a man born into wealth and power. He owns everything around him, every room he enters. He owns me the moment I meet him. He seduces me oh so easily and reveals another side of myself I dared not expose. Until him. Until this intense, wonderful, tormented man shows me another way to live and love. I melt when he kisses me. I shiver when he touches me. And I like when he's in control, especially when I thought I'd never allow anyone that much power over me ever again.
We are two broken people who are somehow whole when we are together, but those secrets—his, and yes, I have mine as well—threaten to shatter all that is right and make it wrong.
Brilliant read. Can't wait for next book. 5*.

You ever read a book and have troubles putting it down because it's addictive? You go to bed thinking about it, you wake up and the first thing you do is resume reading it? Yeah. This was this book for me.

Normally, I get really upset with fast-paced books, but this one I ATE up! It's instalust for both of them but they're both dealing with trauma in their own ways, so they're resistant to any formal relationship. Allie gives herself permission to have one night with Dash of pure passion, no regrets, no self-judgement...but then one night turns into two...which turns into (almost) three.

I love all of the characters (except Tyler, let's be real...he's meant to come off as brash & arrogant, so I'm okay with it lol), and I'm really excited to read the next book (which I bought right away) so I can continue the story after that cliffhanger at the end!!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book!
