I really enjoyed this! It was an interesting idea, that a guy whose SISTER is with a prince is somehow this huge celebrity (sort of like Pippa Middleton) and he’s deserving of a reality show. And of course he’s not the picture that’s painted! I love the idea of this book. Some of it felt a little too fast and easy, but I still enjoyed it!

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute (and frustrating at times) sapphic romance. I love a story set on reality tv and I enjoyed the narration by Natalie Naudus and Barrie Kreinik.

It can be hard to make a choice between getting revenge or keeping your new love. This story includes a narcissistic royal adjacent man getting to invite his ex-girlfriends on a reality show. He is the prize. Or is he?

"Never Ever Getting Back Together" is narrated in turn by Natalie Naudus and Barrie Kreinik. While I've listened to many audiobooks with Natalie as the narrator, this is the first time I've listened to Barrie as narrator. In the past I've really enjoyed Natalie Naudus as narrator and I'm sure I'll enjoy future books with Barrie as narrator. That being said, I really felt like both these narrators were chosen incorrectly for this book. Their voices are fairly deep and I could not match in my head what the author wrote as a description of the characters with the narrators' voices. It honestly made the rest of the storyline not as believable nor relatable.

I had really high hopes for this book; the premise sounded awesome. However these characters were a bit over the top/predictable. I didn't feel any chemistry between Maya and Skye. Jordy had zero redeeming qualities - which I understand was the point but even true villains aren't this ignorant, arrogant, and self absorbed. The other girls in the competition also fell flat for me. At one point I thought a girl got sent home because she just wasn't mentioned anymore. And then all of a sudden she's there, and Jordy is sending her home. It felt like an after thought. Most subplots in this book felt like after thoughts. I was definitely a little disappointed in both the character development and storyline.

Part of me feels that I might have liked this book better with different narrators, but then again some parts can't really be fixed with a different voice. Many thanks to the publishers for providing my advanced reader copy. I'm not opposed to reading more from Sophie Gonzales, nor am I opposed to listening to other audiobooks with Natalie Naudus and Barrie Kreinik as narrators. This one was a miss for me though.

This one was tricky for me on audiobook because I didn't feel like the narrator captured the youth of the characters. I kept having to remind myself that these people were very, very young (often teenagers), while the voice gave me a much more mature impression. Overall the storyline was entertaining, but again I felt like the young women (just graduated from high school?) were in very mature/unrealistic situations.

This was such a cute, fun and refreshing young adult romance.

Maya was humiliated years ago by her high profile ex boyfriend when he cheated on her and then made it appear as if she was a crazy ex girlfriend. She's finally moving forward when she's contacted to participate in a show where her ex, Jordy is meeting many of his former girlfriends to see if he missed something along the way with one of them. Basically it's like The Bachelor only the contestants are former girlfriends. Maya agrees to it because she believes she can prove to the public that Jordy isn't the nice guy everyone believes. What Maya doesn't count on is having to share the show with another of Jordy's girlfriends - - Skye - - the one he cheated on her with. She can't stand Skye at first and then she finds that she's drawn to her.

There are many twists and turns as Maya tries to salvage her image along the way. She makes friends and enemies. It's a fun storyline and an easy read.

AUDIOBOOK: The narration was wonderful. I thought it lent itself to the story and made it even more enjoyable for me. Some stories work better in audio that others. This one definitely works well. 4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

This is a YA story The Bachelor - Jordy is part of royalty and full of himself. Now he has 2nd chance with all his ex-girlfriend. He is charming and rich in media, but in reality his is heatless selfish teenager. Story is told from two of his ex-girlfriends Maya and Skye. Though this fake media competition Maya and Skye move from hate relationship to love relationship. Are they going to end up together or one of them will go for reach royalty?

This was a cute book with a fun concept. I enjoyed the twist (which I won't spoil here). It was definitely unexpected and interesting. The characters could have used a little work being flushed out but overall I had a good time!

I had so much fun listening to this book!! The drama, the love triangle, and the side characters made this one entertaining read! Maya and Skye were perfect! Their mutual ex was a terrible human and I’m so happy with the ending! Perrie is my favorite side character. The narrator did a great job! This sapphic revenge romance is definitely worth the read. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen in exchange for a review!

This definitely more of a 3.5-star read for me, and that's okay. I think it just fell flat for me with the plot and the overall reality show concept. I think it's just a "me thing" because I'm not huge on reality TV.

I really enjoyed that this story consisted of two female main characters and their relationship. I loved that the author was able to paint such a picture of our villain and you actually grew to dislike them.

Overall, the characters were the highlight of this for me. The story didn't hit the marks to make me fall head over heels, flipping the pages, but it was a really cute read and fun. Thank you, Netgalley!

All. Opinions given are entirely my own. Well I guess the title gives the story away. This is the reality story of a guy in his early 20’s gets the chance to bring back his Love interests that didn’t work out to a castle with all the extras. First a girl,Myra, he dated when they were fourteen, followed by Skye who he dated at the same time. Needless to say the girls disliked each other from the onset. They even had to share the same bunk bed. All the remaining girls would have challenges to perform weekly; the winner would win a date with Jordy.also one girl would have to go home weekly. Myra and Skye decide to join forces to make Jordy look foolish. The middle is plagued with girl drama. The ending is a twist no one saw coming. I believe this book to be an upper level rom com to a middle school. Those kids don’t need more nonsense romantic books to lead to more nonsense. If this was set in their late twenties, I would have believed it more, but real love with 14 year olds I don’t buy. Don’t know that I could recommend it. I liked the premise but not the execution. The narrators were very good.

Thanks to the following for giving me an early audiobook.

This book was so compulsively readable—I could not put it down. I remember when I decided to start it, I’d gotten into bed and decided to listen to an audiobook for a couple minutes, only to keep listening for the next two and a half hours. Even then I had to force myself to put it down!

Speaking of the audiobook, I absolutely loved the narration. The narrators, Natalie Naudus and Barrie Kreinik, went together so well. Their voices were similar enough that their interpretations of all the side characters were in line with the other’s, however, distinct enough that both Maya and Skye’s inner dialogues were easily recognized. I’ve heard Naudus narrate several books before, but this one has to be one of my favorites of hers. Both Naudus and Kreinik were soothing to listen to. They did a fantastic job of engaging the listener in the story and bringing each character to life. I have nothing but praise for the audiobook!

As for the story, Never Ever Getting Back Together was incredibly enjoyable. It was a super-fast read that I inhaled like candy and finished in two sittings. Reminiscent of the Selection and the Bachelor, this story took the competing against other girls for a guy trope and gave it a fun twist. While there is some competition and heated feelings in the beginning, as soon as Skye and Maya agree on Jordi’s true nature, the two team up to ensure he’s humiliated for everything he’s put them through.

As they should! Jordi is a smarmy slime ball who deserves nothing but misery for the rest of his life. The way he calls himself a ‘feminist’ and then has some of the most ridiculous views on how women should act is so irritating. He’s also two-faced and willing to play anyone to get what he wants. He deserves everything he has coming for him.

In contrast, I loved Skye and Maya’s characters. I wouldn’t necessarily call their relationship enemies-to-lovers, but I would classify it as rivals-to-friends-to-lovers. Their dynamic was so much fun to watch. What starts as a rivalry slowly evolves into a reluctant friendship, to gradually realizing they have feelings for each other. Skye had a lot of trouble letting Maya in romantically because of how many times she’s been burned in the past, but despite all her hesitations, she finds herself drawn into Maya’s orbit. I loved their relationship and the way it developed. It made sense they didn’t fall in love with each other right away because of the circumstances, and everything that followed that felt natural.

All in all, Never Ever Getting Back Together is a fun, hilarious story you will fly through in only a few sittings! I highly recommend this one if you want something a little lighter that still involves some depth. Don’t forget the audiobook, either! I’m sure the story itself can stand alone well, but with the addition of Naudus and Kreinik’s narration, you’re bound to have a great time.

Things I loved about this book:
- The idea of two girls on a dating show falling for each other, instead of the man they're supposed to fall for
- The representation
- How much fun I had while reading it

Things I didn't love:
- Some of the writing felt stilted
- The main characters grated on my nerves at times

Overall this was a quick, fun romp with a unique premise and would be a great palate cleanser.

I recently read A Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales and I absolutely loved it! It was a heartwarming story and the main character was so relatable. I especially enjoyed how the story seamlessly intertwined themes of family, friendship, love, and finding yourself.

I had high hopes for this one, it sounded really fun but sadly it was a miss for me. I got extremely bored within the first half of the book. It felt very far-fetched and just didn’t keep my attention enough for me to keep going.

This was a pretty enjoyable listen, but I do wish that a few things had been different.

This is YA and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it were an adult novel. Especially because the narrators (both of whom I enjoy listening to) sound more adult, so it kind of threw it off for me.

It also takes a long time for the romance to start, and it felt like a subplot.

Overall, I think many people will enjoy this.

Reality show rivals to lovers sapphic romance--we are here for it! And this isn't your average second chance romance because men are trash. But seriously, this book had heart and humor in all the right places, making a gripping and fabulous romcom that is an insta-buy for anyone rooting for real romance.
Special thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book--though all opinions are my own.

This beauty was another Sophie Gonzales firecracker, full of great humor, epic queer characters, drama, and love stories for the ages! There is just something about Sophie's writing that always makes you fall head over heels for her characters - be it the grouchy ones, the sweet ones or the incorrigibly sassy ones. I really enjoyed this romcom and I can't wait for Sophie's other projects!

Going into this I actually thought this would be an adult book, or maybe at least NA. When I realised all of them were only 18 I was very surprised.
I was even more surprised that any 18 year old had that many ex girlfriends. And who in their right mind is battling over someone they’ve been with when they were 14?
Looking for “the one that got away” works when you’re older and it’s possible you missed the love of your life when you actually already lived a life.

Not only was I surprised by that, but the two girls that are falling for each other aren’t only his exes, no they’re both girls he’s cheated on..with each other. To me that was just weird.
Especially because one of them is set to have revenge for it, nearly two years after it happened.

So this story wasn’t my favourite to begin with, then everything was a bit overdramatic because our MC overreacted at every point possible, which led to weird dialogue and to even weirder actions.
To me the girls didn’t have any chemistry at all, they barely felt like friends to begin with when they were already making out.
They barely had any other topics than their revenge plot and their hate for their shared ex.
As this has two POVs I also should have been able to keep them apart, but it wasn’t only on one occasion that I mixed them up.

I was hoping that this would at least end in the most epic revenge storyline, but even that didn’t happen.

What this book did right of course is showing how fake TV dating shows are and also how toxic they are of course. Everything gets filmed 10 times, you’re completely isolated from the outside world, your friends and family and get forced into situations you don’t really want to participate in. The. Everything gets cut the way that creates the most drama in the end.
Include the online hate and boom.
How this is especially hurtful to people that young is clear.

All in all this wasn’t for me I guess as I see a lot of people absolutely loving it.
