Unfortunately I found this book to be very dull- it read like a novella that was fully formulated and didn’t move the characters along well. I couldn’t get into at all.

I chose not to post a review on Goodreads regarding this book as it wasn’t my cup of tea. Thank you for the opportunity to review it- I feel like there’s real potential here if the book was fleshed out and characters developed more. I REALLY wanted to like this story but nothing seemed to really happen.

Beatrice tried become rule breaker, eating ice cream on the sideroad in winter using panjamas and buny sliper was one of them, she got report by anonymous and Austin the officer approach her. She tried to get arrest and succses. Austin help beatrice in her rule breaker list, from there their relationship build. Beatrice must remember that Austin off limit to young for her (10 years!)

I love how Beatrice enjoy her time in Credence! Living her life, eat what she want, wake up when she want, binge watch movie, colorimg her hair, getting know local people, making new friend, do activity in the town, spend time with Austin. I hope there are book about Arlo and Winona!

Honey, everyone had a crush on Buffy.

How could I not love a book that references so many of my favourite TV shows. I enjoyed the guy falling first, and putting himself out there first.
I really connected with the female lead, Bea, finding her true self is what we all need to sit back and do, and find that thing that makes us happy.
I loved the adventures, the rule breaks, the side characters and their dynamics. The smut was tip notch spiccccy.

All in all, a fun, easy, enjoyable read. 4* from me.

I could so empathise with Beatrice and her experience with misogyny in the workplace! As I’m sure many women can. I cheered her f*#k it reaction with her move to a “dot on the map” town and her new rule breaking attitude. Throw in her attraction to a much younger man who returned her regard …. Hell yeah! Austin was adorable. Ten years younger than Bea. Someone who enjoyed his job as a small town cop. He was just the right panacea for Bea.
The personal negative reaction that other readers may not find was Austin’s way of saying Beatrice’s name. His elongation of the last syllable, that sibilant sound, kept reminding me of Gollum in Lord of the Rings where he kept fawning over My Precious. Not the reaction this author was going for, I’m sure!

This is a wonderful romantic comedy. Beatrice has moved to Credence Colorado after quitting her high powered job in LA. Austin Cooper is a Sheriff deputy and the youngest of six children at 25. The author does an amazing job describing the characters and their thought process. Their conversations are delightful, witty and hilarious. The small town setting allows for naturally occurring interference which leads to more moments of hilarity. Bea and Austin find plenty of fun as they become intimately involved and on their way to being a happy couple.

This was such an entertaining, funny and enjoyable read. I fell in love with Beatrice and Austin. They have so much chemistry going on. You add in the small town and the towns people and you have yourself an amazing book you will not be able to put down. I would highly recommend this book. Thanks Netgalley. Breaking All the Rules by Amy Andrews made me feel like I am in a spicy Hallmark movie! Big town heroine moving to a small town after a major life crisis and finds true love in the much younger town cop living in his family ranch..it is exactly the kind of adorable and entertaining you think it would be!

Bea had only one goal in life. To get the coveted corner office in her family advertising business. But she has never been appreciated even after her inhuman efforts and genius mind. So comes Credence. She is Breaking all the rules now. Gone is the put together well mannered Bea. She is going to live life in fullest and Austin Cooper, the young town cop with his sexy charm volunteered to be her partner in crime. Will she fall for him? And what will happen when she gets a second chance to fulfill her old dream?

Credence is a kicka## small town. It is lively and full of sweet colourful kind people. Bea was full on rebel mode. Like never cleaning her rented apartment, drinking alcohol in breakfast, no dress code, eating pie whole day, doing reckless things...and slowly she got back her confidence. She is sassy and witty but the city just stripped her off everything. Our cute cop played an important role too. He encouraged Bea to find out what she really wants in life. He cheered her to do things those make her happy, not what make others happy. Bea was having an existential crisis and Credence helped her out of the dark hole. It was a fierce slow burn as they were trying to hold back their crazy chemistry. I loved when the author threw all kinds of obstacles on their way. It was full on entertaining. I laughed a lot and swooned a lot too. It was just the right amount of steamy with lots of feel. And Bea made the right choice in the end.

Hilarious small town romance about discovering what’s important in life and that the things that make us happiest often feel scary. I really enjoyed reading this story! I loved Austen, such a swoon worthy male interest and Bea was a funny and likeable main character. A lovely light read to make you smile.

Bea Archer is a recluse holed up in her apartment with a bunch of cats. Or at least that’s what the townspeople think of her, since she just moved in and they haven’t seen her since. After a couple weeks hiding out in her new place, she finally ventures out to the diner for ice cream and pie, only to meet Deputy Austin Cooper…and despite her sweatpants and bunny slippers, he might just be flirting with her. But despite her attraction to him, their age difference is something she can’t get over. But maybe for now he can help her have a little fun.

This book was great! I absolutely loved Bea, Austin, and their little small town community. And of course, Princess! One of the highlights for me was that Bea wasn’t afraid to take charge a little, which was shown right from their first night together. Of all the rom-coms I read where the man takes the lead, that was refreshing to hear her say exactly what she wanted. I also really appreciated her struggle between her career and her desires. And finding out the backstory of her family a little more really brought the story together.

I love Bea!

I love the burned out mess that Bea is when she randomly throws several darts and winds up in Credence, Colorado. She stays in her apartment alone so long that people think she’s in witness protection or is a cat lady, neither is true. When she finally emerges and meets Austin, a police officer 10 years younger than her, sparks fly.

I loved Bea until she does something very immature and rude, them I was mad at her. She might be able to resolve it, but our relationship suffered 😔. The important question is how do she and Austin resolve it? I’m not telling, it’s worth reading to find out!

For those of you familiar with Amy’s “Trouble” series, we are taken back to Credence, Colorado one more time – a small town where visitors, seeking a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of life, have a tendency to find more than they bargained for, including a fed-up Ad Executive by the name of Beatrice Archer.

Bea has had it with the rules and regulations of her life. Her grandmother and father set up boundaries so she wouldn’t end up like her mother. Her former boss commented on what she ate, what she wore, and what hoops she had to jump through while dangling her dream promotion (and corner office) in front of her like a carrot. Enough was enough! After one too many promotion snubs, Bea decided to do to life what it has been doing to her. Making a rash move to Nowhere, Colorado, Bea is determined to indulge in everything she had deprived herself, throwing caution to the wind and being as carefree as she wants to be. That sounds well and good until an anonymous citizen decides her disheveled appearance warrants a call to the police department. Austin responds to the call to find the much talked about out of towner enjoying the fruits of her easy-going attitude. Attempting to keep the peace, he is somehow drawn in by Bea’s antics and can’t seem to resist egging her on. Ten years her junior, Bea is a little too taken by the young officer and while she wants to let her hair down and have fun, she does have one set of rules she just not ready to bend… for now.

What I found interesting about the book: The introspection of the story takes you in and out of the humor, which also creates an ebb and flow of interest. Bea is fighting several demons as she is still trying to find herself. She wants to throw caution to the wind but walks the fine line of not becoming her mother. She wants to turn her back on the life that discarded her but needs to prove she isn’t a creative but an ad’s girl. Her constant dilemmas creates a ping pong effect for the reader, simply put she is caught between past and present and is opening the door to her own happiness while also standing the way.

To add insult to injury, through her own internal crisis, she projects her insecurities on the one person who accepts her for who she is, putting his own wants, needs, and desires on the back-burner so she can have her freedom. Too blind with the need of vindication, validation, and redemption, she doesn’t realize she has gone full circle until it is too late. I thought it was brilliant that Amy wrote her path this way because while the individual pieces of the puzzle were confusing and didn’t make sense, once you had them all – you suddenly had the full picture of the who, what, and why that was Bea. As frustrated as you may have become with her character, you finally saw the one piece that was missing the entire time to make the picture complete – her connection with her mother.

What I am indifferent about but feel I should mention: The books starts in the middle so the first couple of chapters the reader may be full of questions as to how Bea got where she is and why. Amy does a great job giving the backstory through conversations but the missing information is disorientating at the beginning.

A slow burn, instant lust, forbidden love small town romance isn’t just a hot and heavy tale between a big city girl and a small town boy, it dives deep into the psychological impact of nature versus nurture, acceptance, and the in your face reminder that love doesn’t play by the rules.

The cute cover welcomes you to a very entertaining, steamy, small town romance. Beatrice Archer is 35 and tired of being passed over for the promotion she is promised for years. She throws darts and moves to the small town of Credence, Colorado. And Bea wants to become badass. Her list isn’t shocking and includes things like drinking beer for breakfast, ride a horse, skinny dip or go camping. She may even where her panties on the wrong days.

Police officer Austin Cooper first meets Bea when she is dressed is sweats and bunny slippers eating pie. He is instantly smitten. He is younger, 25 to her 35 and is all in to help her safely work on her being bad list. The sexual tension is sizzling and there is a lot of passionate and fun scenes. The townspeople and Austins family add a lot to the fun of the story. Everyone absolutely knows everyone’s business and is proud of it. And Austin’s dad loves a good pun.

I laughed many times reading this book and even the angst moment is very brief. I may have wished for a little more in conversation between the couple. All we get from Austin is his wanting to be police chief one day. There isn’t discussion of what the future would like for them. And the epilogue is nice but the focus is more on Bea and not them as a couple. But if you want something fun and with heat this is just the book. I didn’t realize this is part of a series and read easily as a stand alone. But I will look for the previous books and future one from the author and hope they are just as enjoyable.

"Holy hot cowboy Batman" - this book was amazing!

Breaking All The Rules tells the story of Beatrice, an L.A. ad executive who busts her ass day in and day out, and gets passed over for a promotion. She decides to pack up, move to a country town and break all the rules.

This was my first book by Amy Andrews, and I absolutely loved it. There was great banter between the two main characters, great character development and so much spice! The reverse age gap is not something I've read before, but good god Andrews' has set the standards pretty damn high.

A 5 out of 5 for me, and I can't wait to pick up the other books in this series!!!

This was such a fun read! I loved Bea - grumpy & giving zero f**ks. She’s finally doing things that she never allowed herself to do, like eating pie & drinking beer for breakfast. The meet cute between her & Austin was hilarious and was a great start to their relationship. I liked the slow burn aspect of the relationship - at least on Bea’s part; I liked seeing Austin realise that he’d fallen first & then try to keep things stable to not spook Bea. I loved the banter between the two, and this is something that Amy Andrews does particularly well. There’s also a great bunch of supporting characters, and I hope to read more about them.

Have you ever read a book and were sad that you finished? I loved this book and adored the two main characters, Beatrice Archer and Austin Cooper. This is part of the Credence, Colorado series. Bea has given her life to the advertising agency she worked for in LA. When she is passed over for a promotion for a less competent man, she quits and decides to lick her wounds wherever her dart lands on the map, which happens to be Credence, Colorado. Bea decides to do everything that she would never do in her past neat, orderly life including eating all the pie, drinking beer for breakfast and dating a man 10 years her junior. Austin is 25 and a Sheriff in Credence. What can I say about Austin, but I loved his character! He is a great guy, and is immediately smitten with Bea, despite her disheveled appearance. I loved their development from friends to more, despite Bea’s misgivings with the whole age difference. This is an enjoyable series, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series (please let it be Arlo and Winona!). I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

I need a minute to collect my thoughts. I blazed through this book, staying up until 2 am last night, fighting the urge to ignore meetings today and finishing Bea and Austin’s story instead of watching 90 Day Fiancé tonight. It’s THAT good.

As an “older than the usual heroine” aged woman, I wasn’t sure I could get into the reverse age gap but Lord have mercy…Officer Austin Cooper is the book boyfriend who changed my mind. And he did it so fast.

Beatrice is #goals, ladies. By the bottom of page one, I knew I wanted to be her ride or die bestie. The way she jumps into trying new things is inspiring. Lucky for us, falling for the younger man is one of those things she let herself do.

These two are just…hell, they are funny and cute and sexy as all get out. Austin’s wink and “ma’am” are burned in my brain. Heaven help the next cop who pulls me over. I’ll be thinking about Officer Cooper and make a fool out of myself.

For a book with this much spice and truly enjoyable fun, I have to admit it held my heart over a cliff in not so enjoyable ways before these two finally realized what I’d known since chapter two. It was a hell of a ride and I can easily see this one being one I’ll re-read to experience the chemistry and romance all over again.

Breaking the Rules is a quick and easy read. I found Bea easy to relate to and loved seeing her take risks and break rules. I loved the chemistry between Bea and Austin. The push and pull was a lot of fun and I couldn't wait for Bea to give in.

There should be more romance books where one of them is a police officer or detective.
This was easy quick read and my favourite charater was definitely Princess.
Something i didnt like though was how there were alot of scenes that felt repetitive, which bored me at times.

I enjoyed this story about a woman who gives up on the rat race to move to small town Colorado and the younger local cop who crosses her path.

Beatrice (Bea) was gunning for at top spot at an LA ad agency, but she got passed up - again - for some dude who doesn't put in half the work she does. She quits and leaves town, ending up in Colorado, to lick her wounds and recover. While in town, she discovers the joys of tossing out her bra, living in bunny slippers and pjs, beer for breakfast, and pie for every other dietary need. While out for pie, looking all disheveled and maybe a bit crazy, a local calls the police to check on her. Thus, she meets a steamy young officer who offers to help her break all her rules.

I liked Bea and Austin, but I had trouble with their relationship; it felt a little like their love came out of nowhere. I just didn't believe the depth of it, though I'm not quite sure why. This is a great beach read, though, full of spice and laughter.

Breaking All The Rules is a spectacular contemporary romance by Amy Andrews. Ms. Andrews has provided readers with a well-written book and populated it with a cast of characters that is outstanding. Beatrice needed sugar, when she couldn't find anything left in her apartment, she ventured out to find some...in her bunny slippers. Austin was called about a suspicious person and found Bea, totally ENJOYING her ice cream. When he tried to make sure she was ok, she demanded to be taken away to the pokey. Bea and Austin's story is loaded with humor, drama, sizzle and did I mention the humor? I laughed all the way through this book. And loved every page. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
