I love Amy Andrews' town of Credence, Colorado and the people that live there, especially cutie pie, 25 year old police officer Austin Cooper. Although raised on a ranch, his heart was in policing. He left for the big city of Denver, but his heart was in Credence. So he's back, his dream to eventually become the police chief. In a little town like this, everyone is in each others pockets, and people keep calling the police station about the newest resident, who has been holed up in the apartment over the coffee shop. Austin is called to check out a suspicious woman eating two ice cream cones in her pjs and bunny slippers. When he spots her, he is a goner.

Beatrice Archer was raised to follow the rules, after her free spirited artist mother, left her husband and daughter for a younger man and was killed. She was taught to suppress her artistic talents. But after working for 15 years for the same company, being the best at her job, but passed over again and again for the coveted promotion, she calls it quits, throws a dart at a map and ends up in Credence. She is going to break all the rules and do all the things that she hadn't allowed herself to do- and Austin is going to help her do them and re-find herself. But she is hung up on the age difference. Will she be able to overcome that to find her happy?

Breaking All The Rules by Amy Andrews is a riotously funny story of Bea Arthur who leaves her high pressure advertising job and runs away to a small Colorado town and breaks all the rules...beer and sugar for breakfast, stays in her pajamas and gets "arrested" by a young, good looking cop named Austin Cooper who is definitely smitten at first sight. Things go on to get hot and heavy despite Bea's assertion that he is much too young for her, but Austin doesn't care. The real gems in this novel are the townspeople who seem to know all the gossip and have no problem spreading it, regardless of the truth. A fun read!

Another great one from the series. The story between Bea and Austin is uniquely funny and absolutely lovely. I loved it and I really enjoyed reading it. I really loved Austin and I love how he treated Bea.

This was such a great story and despite the age gap between Austin and Beatrice, you could feel the chemistry flying off the page.
Beatrice's life is falling apart. Her mother was a free spirited artist, who left her family for a younger man and tragically died way too young. She has lived for years being told that she should have a proper job, be the best and follow the rules. But when life throws her a curve ball, Beatrice decides to throw caution to the wind, throw a dart in a map and move where it lands. This is Credence, Colorado.
Austin Cooper is a police officer who lived in Denver before going home to his hometown to join the Credence Police Force. When he is called to a disturbance and meets Beatrice, he knows this is going to be a wild ride. She is this beautiful, sassy woman who will keep Austin on his toes!
What starts off as fun, with no titles or labels, grows into something deeper, which neither wants to acknowledge, but can it be ignored?
Well written, fun, flows beautifully, with wonderful well rounded characters.

Breaking All The Rules by Amy Andrews is a read that initially held much promise. Bea and Austin's characters had an abundance of portrayed chemistry, however, there were limited moments of real deep connection between the two characters to give the story any real depth or credibility. The story had noteable moments and interesting elements, and makes a reader hope for the best for both characters. Bea's character identity crisis took over the narrative, leaving Bea and Austin's pairing as more of a secondary topic in the story. The townsfolk held their own in the story and were a clear highlight. I wanted more from the story, that fell short of expectation. Nevertheless, the story had some nice moments, but overall was more a light read than a solid heart-to-heart book to disappear into.

-I felt like I needed to see Beatrice and Austin communicate and connect emotionally more before the big declaration of love. Since their relationship started off casual and mostly physical, I wanted to see them connect more in other ways and get to know each other deeper before, “I love you” and “move to a new town for you”.

-I wanted some character growth from Austin. I felt like most of the growth was all Beatrice.

Ahhhh I loved this book so freakin much! It was brilliantly written, funny, romantic, and kept me on my toes!

Breaking All The Rules is a spicy little romance! Tropes include age gap, small town romance, friends-to-lovers. Characters are extremely relatable, obstacles are very believable. This is apparently the latest book in an existing series, which I didn't know until I looked up the author's other work -- I'm glad to know I can read more about the interesting side characters from this story, and I love that I was able to enjoy this story without needing to read previous installments to make sense of things. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity!

No one does heat and humor like Amy Andrews, and her latest book Breaking All the Rules is no exception. Credence, Colorado is the perfect quirky romance small town, and when Andrews adds in a steamy age gap and tons of romcom goodness, it can’t miss.

Bea escaped to small town Colorado to get away from the grind of life as an LA ad exec who was passed over for a well-deserved promotion too many times. She’s frustrated, and is done with following the rules, whether that means having pie for breakfast, streaming tv series in bed, or not bothering with a bra. Then she meets young Credence cop Austin. Even though it seems like he’s never met a rule he didn’t like, he encourages Bea to follow her instincts and enjoy the moment for a change. But as the two grow closer, can Bea maintain her new life and carefree ways?

Bea and Austin are utterly charming. I loved their older woman, younger man dynamic, especially when Austin is one who knows what he wants and Bea is still figuring it out. Look, no regular romance reader is going to be surprised by the path this book takes, but that’s not a bad thing. It fact, I was completely entertained trying to figure out just how the author was going to get the characters to their HEA.

Breaking All the Rules begins as sort of a slow burn while Bea is trying to figure out what she wants, both with her life and with Austin. But once things heat up, there is no stopping the chemistry between these two. The other amusing characters that populate Credence, Colorado are a joy to spend time with too, from Bea’s new girl gang to the bickering between Arlo, Drew and Tucker.

I’ve been an Amy Andrews fan for a long time. I adore this entertaining small town that always leaves me wanting more stories with these charming characters. And pie. Always more pie.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved reading about a character who is rediscovering herself and what she wants out of her life. Bea and Austin were such fun characters and I enjoyed reading about how their stories unfolded.

Wow wow wow !!! I absolutely loved this book !!! I’m not going to say it was the perfect romance … but it was really close !!!
I’m not a huge fan or reverse age gap … but this small town romance almost made me change my mind !!! Bea and Austin’s relationship was absolutely amazing. Soft, romantic, spicy, hot and based on understanding and mutual respect … plus the teasing was absolutely amazing to read !!!
They had a good banter but it felt like a more friends-to-lovers kinda romance than anything else.
I loved how it all started and how they both grew to be together in a dynamic that worked both for her spirit and his.
Honestly the age gap between them felt like a bit of an obstacle , which of course was part of the plot, but the author managed to make it look almost insignificant considering the maturity attribution to Austin. Plus this man probably made me feel like a huge fan of small town’s officers !!!
I also have to say that I am very excited about a possible development in the story of two side characters (Winona and Arlo) that I believe will have me entertained a lot !!!
I’m so glad I had the chance to read this book and I truly hope this is just the beginning of a series !!

After giving up so much of her life, giving up having a life really, when she is passed up for the promotion that should be hers she decides to give it all up and move to a small town in the middle of nowhere. A new life filled with beer for breakfast and streaming services is exactly what she needs. When younger local law enforcement officers Austin enters her life and offers to help with her new goals she might find room on the list for more than she initially bargained for.

This was a story that had it all- humor, steam, and emotional depth. Austin and Bea are delightful characters on their own but together they are perfection. Bea’s frustration with her career and work life balance are so relatable that I was ready to throw a dart at a map myself. Looking forward to more books in this series.

This book was a fun and easy read, featuring small town rumors, a cute-ugly cat, and a ton of pies. The premise was exciting and I loved how relatable Bea was. She’s tired. And exhausted by the world. Aren’t we all kinda like that? I loved when she let loose and did whatever she wanted. Breaking all the rules (haha).

Honestly it was just a feel good romance, but the insta-love didn’t really work for me. I wish there was a bit more oomph and push and pull and banter between Austin and Bea. Everything felt a bit too… easy. And that’s good sometimes, but I wish I had a bit more.

Anyways, this was still a fun self discovery rom com and I really want some pie now.

I completely connected with this funny, done-with-the-rat-race book!

Wow, could I empathize with Bea!! I've run that wheel of a rat race, tried to impress bosses, co-workers, everyone around me for years, only to reach my stress limits just like Bea. I LOVED joining her in Credence while she veged on her bed binging shows she's missed that everyone's talked about, day drinking, not showering, and completely checking out of life while she just needed to recharge on life. This is something so completely relatable and I loved her for being herself.

Then the story just got better....

Bea has a major meltdown and this is the point when she meets the yummy, delicious Austin, who-yes, he's a decade younger-you go girl!!, who is a cop in town, but even after her meltdown he still manages to knock those dirty socks off her feet!! Well...it takes a few dates, but you get my drift.

In a nutshell, Bea has a wonderful journey back to discovering herself and who she wanted to be after giving up all of those rats. This book is fun, dirty, and a little life affirming. Plus, I always love returning to the town of Credence, but this book is a complete standalone and can be read without previously sampling any of Annie's pies.

Beatrice is going through it, She quit her job and finds herself with a man much younger than her who is absolutely smitten with her, Austin the cop. He is so sweet. The characters had a great chemistry throughout the book that made me root for them easily. I love the fact that she threw a dart and ended up in this small town. So 2000s vibes and so cool. I really adore small town romances and this one did not disappoint!

This book made me feel a lot. I laughed, I cried. I enjoyed. Reading about Bea's issues through her mind was just so interesting and honestly relatable. I didn't know that this was part of a series, and I'm excited to read the other one! This had good steam as well for those who like some spice with their romance.

This was a fun read! The insta-love initially put me off of it, but im glad I continued. Bea was such a fun character, and watching her burn every inhibition was exhilarating. I did get a bit tired of her drama with Austin, as it got repetitive, but they were still a cute couple. I'd recommend this!
