This was such a fun fast read! Loved the overworked underappreciated ad exec who is taking a break in a small town where she meets a handsome police officer 10 years younger than her that she just hits it off with. I mean she made an interesting first impression. Loved how she landed on her feet and her journey to get where she needed to be.

I really enjoyed this story. The witty banter between Austin and Bea had my laughing until my sides hurt. Although the story was a bit predictable, the characters were relatable and likeable. Some of the dialogue was a silly during the steamy scenes, but I enjoyed reading them anyway. The audio version was well done.

Breaking All the Rules is an entertaining small-town romance about a girl fed up with her life. After always being passed over for promotion, losing out to men less qualified than her. She decides enough is enough and quits her job in Los Angeles for a different life, one where she can live life her way and break any rule she wants.

Which leads her to the small-town of Credence, Colorado. A place she finds thanks to a dart in a map, and where she embraces her new life with gusto and where she meets Austin Cooper a local police officer. Who is immediately drawn to the delightful and older Bea, bunny slippers and all.

And it's fair to say Austin is eager to assist Bea in her journey of rule breaking and fun and the sparks soon fly!

And with a storyline that perfectly balances humour and heat Breaking All the Rules is an engaging fun, read. That features plenty of banter, likable characters and some emotion too.

I would happily recommend it to others.

This was a thoroughly fun read. I could feel the IDGAF attitude from the first few lines. The writing is good, funny, very conversational so it is a breeze to read (I finished it in 4 days). I was definitely cheering Bea on to let go, to eat the pie, to kiss the boy. The novel is pretty sexy, even throughout the first 6 chapters where nothing even happens. The ending, even the inevitable conflict, is pretty predictable, so I didn't dwell on the not-so-fun parts too long.

Cop romance is not really my cup of tea...and it also has a hp reference, which really icked me out.

Breaking All The Rules is a contemporary romance about Bea and Austin. Bea has had enough of her corporate life in LA and all the misogynistic attitudes of the people she’s worked with. She moves to Credence, CO to live on her own terms, and give zero f*cks - having beer for breakfast, overloading on pie, wearing baggy sweats and day-coordinated underwear. She then meets a much younger and attractive cop, Austin, after she has been reported for her disregard for appropriate clothing and apparently seductively eating two ice cream cones outside the local diner. They hit it right off, as Austin was willing to assist her with her rule-breaking. 😉

Bea is a rebel! I absolutely loved her character in this novel – after years and years of being a corporate slave, she’s had enough when an executive position that she truly deserved was given to someone else less deserving, and a male slob no less. Despite her having no regard for cleanliness the first few weeks she’s lived in her Credence apartment, I loved that she has given absolutely no care about her looks, or what she’s eating (although we better watch out for that for health reasons, duh). She took her time to figure out what she wanted to do next and let the chips fall where they may. She didn’t dwell much on her anxieties, except regarding her art, which was an integral part of the story.

Bea’s first meeting with Austin was hilarious and I loved their banter and instant connection. Bea’s witty comebacks were what carried their initial conversation for me, and as they got to know each other better, I loved Austin’s patience and the encouragement he’s giving Bea regarding her art and how he gives her sound advice to take it one day at a time. He’s very supportive of her. I also loved his family – they’re hilarious as well! The puns they throw at each other were very funny 😂

This was such a light and funny romance, and I’m rating it ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. Releases January 24th, 2023!

This book. I loved every second of it! It was funny, deep and pulled at all of my heart strings. Not only was it well written, but it was beautifully crafted. Bea’s character growth and her ultimate change is absolutely perfect. It had so much wonderful conflict that I didn’t want it to end. The hero, Austin, was the perfect match for workaholic Bea. There was a great mix of spicy scenes vs heartwarming scenes. This book was one of the best I’ve read in a good long while. Huge thanks to Netgalley and Entangled publishing for allowing me to read and review this book!

This line from the description is perfect for Beatrice's mindset. Very easy to relate to her fed-up-ness with LA and her old life.
Credence is a cute, wholesome small town and that is reflected in the cast of supporting characters.
Would love to read more from this author/series.

Sometimes it is liberating to chuck all the rules and do your own thing. That’s exactly what Beatrice has done. She’s now a naughty vixen discussion breaking various local ordinances with Hot Young Deputy who is a willing recipient of her teasers in small town Colorado.
It certainly was a colorful read halfway through, but then my heart plummeted because Austin turned clingy and Beatrice reverts to her old ways. Do they stand a chance?

I loved this book from start to finish! I could probably count on one hand the number of older woman/younger man titles I've read that are truly great and this is definitely one of them. I loved Austin and Bea together & Bea's irreverent and zany behavior and dialogue had me laughing out loud at times. One can always rely on Amy Andrews for a perfect combo of heat, humor and emotion - I couldn't put this book down.

I LOVED this book! Bea was such a fun, don’t give a hoot character! I really enjoyed her sense of humor, sarcasm and carefree attitude. I mean, who doesn’t want pie and beer for breakfast when life gets hard?!

Officer Austin Cooper was a breath of fresh, super hot, air for her and I really liked how good of a person Amy Andrews made him out to be. This wasn’t all rom-com, it also touched on Bea’s fear of being like her mother and working so hard to avoid making those same mistakes. That was something I related with, not wanting to make the same mistakes your parents made so you avoid doing things you love doing because you fear it’ll make you like them. She fought so hard not to fall in love with Cooper because of their age difference and I really thought the book was going to end with a different sort of happily ever after for her, but was so happy to see that she ended up getting everything she never knew she always wanted.

Omg! I absolutely loved this story. My entire body was one giant throb as all my senses flicked on like switches, humming in anticipation. Drooling, pulse pounding, giggling, sighing, swallowing, and laughing out loud as I ate up every word in Amy Andrews steamy descriptions. The heat between these two main characters was sizzling and I had to close my eyes at times from melting into a puddle. And oh my, I will never look at pie the same again! This younger man/ older woman trope grabbed me from the start!! So full of fun, wit and sizzle in this fantastic laugh-out-loud romantic comedy.

Beatrice Archer is 35 years old and has just quit her LA job as an advertising executive after she was once again overlooked for a promotion to a less qualified man. Tired of playing it by the book, working long hours, having no life and dealing with her family’s expectations, she decides to throw a dart at a map and moves to Credence Colorado. She had come to Credence to be a different kind of Beatrice. To break all the rules that have been holding her back from living her best life. After holding up for two long weeks binging Netflix and eating carbs in her room, she decides to make a run to the local diner wearing her bunny slippers, her new day of the week underwear and sweats. And that is when she meets him Austin Cooper.

But although Austin is all in, Beatrice is still skittish about the age gap romance, her uncertain future and about her place in the world.

Will Bea realize what she has before it is too late? Or will she give it all up for success? You will need to read to get all sizzling details. And believe me you Do Not want to miss this one!!!!

I said it at 49%, and I'll say it at 100%, this book is not what I expected in the best way possible. Amy Andrews killed it. If this is where you stop reading, just know l absolutely recommend this book.

Bea has escaped corporate life and truly doesn't know what she wants next in life. What she does know is whatever comes next will be on her terms and no one else's. Will Bea find what she's looking for? Or will she run away from these new adventures, too?

This book is a whole vibe: fun, flashy, and absolutely fabulous. Andrews truly has a way with banter and flirting that is satisfying and leaves you with zero secondhand embarrassment. While there are definitely a handful of sexy scenes, I appreciate the way they are written. Andrews not only eases you into these scenes, she also has a way of making these palatable for those reading the book for them and those who prefer not to have them. There are heavier feelings/thoughts throughout and they aren't hit on more so than is necessary. Andrews doesn't allow us to dwell or wallow in Bea’s upbringing. The reader spends just enough time in this headspace to both understand and empathize. Additionally, one of my least favorite things in a book is when there are time gaps that aren’t acknowledged or they are massive and reference events that you as the reader never see. That is NOT what happens here. Andrews acknowledges the time lapsed, nothing of significance has occurred, and even gives you a snippet of what the characters have endured in that time. It was done beautifully, didn’t interrupt the flow, and I wouldn’t change it.

Honestly, Amy Andrews’ writing is an art form itself. I loved it. Just beautiful.

The half point was lost for two personal preferences - both reasons being tied to some feeling of disconnect from Bea in the second half. First being the change (mellowing out) of her personality. I believe this was intentional, and understandably so, but it didn’t just mellow out her grump, but her sass, as well. The second was that Bea’s internal thoughts went from fast-paced and sporadic to a typical pace and focused. I understand her growth and that Credence was helping her shed that type A, perfect persona. However, I almost feel as if this typical, mellow wasn’t a fit to her personality. That’s the part that made it seem like she was distant as a character. Because she is that sassy, grumpy human and we need that.

All that to say, If you need a book to lighten the mood, have a good laugh, and smile non-stop I'd definitely give this read a go.

Breaking All The Rules is a small-town romance with an age-gap as well. Beatrice has rented an apartment in the town of Credence to get away from her life in LA and away from her life of rules. She wants to break all rules she used to live by and what better way to start than show up to buy pie at the local diner in your pyjamas. That's how 25-year-old officer Austin Cooper finds her double-fisting ice cream cones on the sidewalk and insisting upon being arrested for her "crimes". Their story starts this day with her wanting to break all the rules and him happy to help her break said rules. If only he can the 35-year-old woman to open her heart for him.

This book is very lighthearted, has a ton of funny moments and at its core is about women breaking free from rules and norms that tie them down to a life they aren't happy with.

The plot is cute and the characters are silly yet sweet. However there is something missing from the romance that could take away the awkwardness I felt reading it. It wasn't the lack of chemistry but the development was underwhelming. If someone saw me looking a mess, not having showered, had beer for breakfast, shoving down ice creams and pies ... their first thought wouldn't be how "attractive" that was. I guess it would have felt more genuine as a slow burn start than an instant attraction. That's just not my cup of tea.

That being said I loved Amy Andrews writing. It fit the story perfectly and I will for sure read more from her in the future.

Now, she spends her days eating pie, watching TV, and rebelling. Enter Austin, a confident 25 year old police officer who takes Bea to the station and puts her in a jail cell. Sparks fly between the two.

I really liked the idea of this book. As 30 something myself who has not been so lucky in the love department, I was intrigued at Bea basically doing what she wants and saying what she feels. I liked how she created a mini bucket list of things to do that challenged or scared her.

I did feel like their conflict was a bit forced in the third act, but Austin was very sweet and understanding. Almost a bit too perfect. The cast of characters was fun. I liked the puns in the book.

Overall it was a decent read. Ends with a happily ever after. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, it’s another cant put it down because it’s so good offering from author Amy Andrews. Bea was just a straight up laugh out loud gotta love her character. Her abrupt change from neat & tidy to being a who cares if there’s a mess deal with it type was hilarious.. I loved how she didn’t care about how she looked at all, it was a breath of fresh air. The first meeting of Bea & Austin was definitely laugh out loud funny. Her sugar requirement has her standing outside of Annie’s licking not 1 but 2 dripping ice cream cones & holding a bag of slices of pie in floppy eared bunny slippers, sweats & a beer stained t-shirt, as officer Austin pulls up to check out the calls about a very strange woman. What happens next is hilarious as Austin ends up taking her to jail because she wants it. It’s definitely very clear that the sensual tension between Bea & Austin is strong, but Bea’s family history is not letting it go any further than mutual benefits. I really enjoyed watching the changes that Austin brought out in Bea as they grew closer together until it was pushed to the breaking point as Bea is offered what she thought was her lifelong dream. This book is wonderfully funny, sweet & sexy......definitely recommend..

In this small town romance we meet Beatrice Asher (Bea for short) just after she got passed by for another promotion and decided to say ‘bye bye’ to LA advertising. Now she moved to Credence (Colorado) doing only what she wants and that is binge-watching 15 seasons of Supernatural in sweats, wrong day-of-the-week panties, messy hair and bunny slippers.
When she leaves her apartment after 2weeks on the hunt for pie, the locals call the cops .. introducing officer Austin Cooper (10 years her junior).
Bea wants to go against the conventional and break all the rules, which lands her for a short time in jail for jay-walking. But officer Cooper was rather taken by Bea, and soon he’s helping her thick off things on her ‘breaking the rules’ list. From horse riding to line dancing and skinny dipping, Austin knows exactly what Bea needs to boost her confidence.

The book is written in a third person perspective with a double POV.
While I am not a big fan of the third person narrative, I really didn’t mind because the writing flows well and you still get quite some inside on the characters.
I loved Bea and her FU attitude leading her to discover what’s important for her. Especially when her mantra was WWDD, a.k.a ‘What Would Dean Do’, since you can never go wrong with some Dean Winchester in my book 😊
Bea is sassy, cranky and has sizzling chemistry with officer Cooper. He knows just what to say or when to bring pie, but most of all when the bring the spark with the fake town laws banter and witty innuendos.

Would recommend this reverse age gap, small town romcom with lots of laugh-out-loud moments if you can BEElieve it X)

Breaking All the Rules by Amy Andrews is a super fun, from different worlds, age-gap romance, with a swoony MMC Officer McHottie, and a FMC looking to get away from the city hustle and bustle. When Beatrice throws a dart twelve times into map of rural USA she finds herself in Credence, Colorado. Hibernating for two weeks in an apartment above a local cafe, watching re-runs of Supernatural, she finally ventures out in sweats and bunny slippers in search of sugar, and is arrested by Officer McHottie, aka Austin Cooper. He's 10 years her junior, slightly bemused, and totally flirting with her. Beatrice formulates a to-do list of things she wouldn't usually do, for her walk on the wild side, and it eventuates that Austin is only too happy to be her ride or die.

This one has some open door steam to die for - Beatrice continuing to venture outside her usually beige romantic life. She's going all the way with living life to the fullest, and Austin takes it all in his stride, with good humour, cheeky retorts and plenty of smoldering looks. And that police uniform and utility belt he shucks pretty quickly if need be. The banter between the two is fun, extremely flirtatious, and well ... scorching. It's questionable who fell first but Beatrice fails to recognise it for the growing relationship it is. She's running from LA but while exploring Credence and her own identity, she is drawn back, and you wonder where Austin is going to fit and whether she is going to want him to. Breaking All The Rules had some great support characters who make Credence an interesting place, and hopefully make for future instalments so we can see what happens with their life journeys. I appreciated Beatrice more as we found our more about her family history which gave some context for the decisions she made. I appreciated Austin for his unabashed loving of Beatrice living her adventurous life, and liked the depiction of his struggle with the reappearance of aspects of her pre-Credence self with the Beatrice he had come to know.

There's a few times there was just basic communication issues and it was a little frustrating that Beatrice and Austin just didn't talk, but then they didn't know each other that long in the scheme of things, so I could put that aside. (Miscommunication is really my last favourite trope).

Amy Andrews knows how to blend, fun, wit, sexy and sizzle into her stories in the best possible way, this is my fourth visit to Credence and I loved it, getting to know Bea Archer and Austin Cooper was so much fun, of course there are plenty of emotions as well, as Bea runs from LA and her stressful corporate life in advertising for the quiet life in Credence, to get her life back.

Bea rents an apartment in town and stays put it is time to do as she wants and if that means having beer for breakfast and binge watching Supernatural and cheering for Team Dean and not giving two hoots what other people think about how she dresses then this is living, it is time for Bea to start breaking all the rules that have been pushed on her for a long time.

After two weeks holed up in the apartment Bea is craving sugar and leaves her sanctuary to find sugar dressed in her track pants and bunny slippers she is content after purchasing pie and ice-cream. But it seems that someone is not happy with her appearance and calls the cops and young deputy Austin Cooper arrives to sort her out and Bea lets loose and finds herself in the pokey, for a short time going through all of the rules that she is breaking.

It is not long before Austin is helping Bea break more rules and lots of fun is being had and lots of pie is being eaten and then lots of sizzle time in bed, Bea and Austin are burning up the sheets and having the best time, but Bea is not going to fall for someone who is ten years her junior, doing things that she has wanted to for a long time though come with some consequences that will see Bea have to make a big decision, can she find herself?

I loved this story so much and cannot recommend it enough to any romance reader who loves fun and sensual sizzle, the dialogue and banter between Bea and Austin is just so good, I laughed out loud so many times and smiled throughout and I also cheered them on, I loved Austin what a hero and Bea is fun and loving. Of course catching up with characters in Credence was great as well and I do hope we have more stories in Credence, Thanks Amy Andrews for another awesome read.
