Sofia, the owner of the Inglenook Inn, is suddenly called away leaving Rupert, the chef, to run the hotel with the temporary help of Darcy. They take on Katy, who had just been made redundant, to help out. Things go along well until Rupert's sister Natalie turns up.
Although I've read a couple of this author's books before this is actually the first of this series that I've read. This didn't affect my enjoyment of this book, although it does make me want to go back and read the others as well. The hotel certainly sounds like the type that I'd like to stay in, ratherthan a larger, impersonal chain. Rupert sounds far more organised than I am and Katy is certainly an asset to the business. Natalie is a spanner in the works, but you do find out more about her as the story goes on. Overall a slower paced book with some serious subject matter, but one that suited my mood and I really enjoyed it.

Katy has worked in the hotel business for years and is suddenly without a job. She answers a temporary job listing at the Inglenook Inn . She and Rupert, the chef manage to keep things together while dealing with their own family issues.
This book is part of a series and it’s a lovely book. I almost read it in one day, that’s how good it was.
Thanks to the publisher,Netgalley and Rachel’s Random Resources for the early copy

It was an absolute treat to return to the Inglenook Inn and to catch up with the lives of characters from the series. Although the book only featured Darcy and Sofia, there were plenty of references to confirm that everyone was getting along beautifully.
This instalment revolves around newly unemployed Katy and the Inglenook’s chef, Rupert. The pair are thrown together when Sofia has to make a mercy dash to be with her daughter after an accident. Katy has been made redundant from a hotel job and is also dealing with the prospect of her widower father remarrying. Worried that she’s about to be made homeless as she’s the cuckoo in their love nest, Katy is thrilled to find a job, albeit temporary, that includes accommodation.
Rupert is happy to take over the responsibility of running the Inglenook Inn. With the help of Darcy, he hires Katy, and she falls right into the role of receptionist come everything else. They work so well together that they are shocked by the arrival of Rupert’s sister who brings a whole new set of problems with her.
I just loved being back at the Inglenook Inn. It sparked gorgeous memories of the earlier books in the series, and I loved that the author fell back into the New York rhythm with this perfect story.
Rupert and Katy are absolutely gorgeous characters, and I could feel the chemistry between them, leaping off the pages. Of course, they were both in a professional environment, so that just added to the excitement of seeing how things would work out.
Bizarrely, I really liked Natalie, Rupert’s sister. She was clearly battling something, and I felt her frustrations as she tolerated the judgement and accusations that were batted her way. Of course, those accusations were well-based, and I could understand where they were coming from.
I hope that we can return to New York and visit old friends in the future. As much as I love Heritage Cove, New York has my heart.

I thought this was a lovely story that was heartwarming and also dealt with some sensitive issues. We meet Katy who is looking for a job in the hotel industry after being made redundant and Rupert who is the chef at the Inglenook Inn. Katy manages to get a temporary job at the inn and fits right in, working well with Rupert. There is a definite spark between the two of them and I loved seeing how their relationship developed. They both have issues with and in their families that they support each other with. How the other characters fitted into the story and the descriptions of the inn itself added to a great read. Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

In this book we meet Rupert, who is a chef at the Inglehook Inn. When his boss is faced with an emergency and has to suddenly leave, he has to take on the running of the inn. If that wasn’t enough, his sister turns up unannounced.

Kate, has recently lost her job, then she’s offered a position at the inn, Kate is trying to deal with her own family issues.

I loved the two characters and the scenery.

I recommend this book.

A nice easy to read and lose yourself in book. A well written story that as well as dealing with friendships and romance, it also touches on a couple of sensitive issues. Definitely a book worth reading.

Although this is part of a series of books it can be read as a standalone. I had read the first book in the series as part of a readalong and I couldn't wait to read more.

This story is centered around Rupert, the chef at Inglenook Inn and Katy who has just been made jobless but gets a temporary job at the hotel while the owner is away on an emergency. Both have dysfunctional families and things they want to remain private. I enjoyed watching how it all played out. I just loved the characters and how Helen leads you to think a certain way about a character and then totally flip flops the character.

Great addition to the series and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books.

This was such a lovely read! So looking forward to acquiring this title. I love Boldwood Books they never disappoint. Helen Rolfe is such a fantastic write, I always look forward to her books.

In this novel we meet Rupert a chef at the cozy Inglehook Inn. He has to take over when his boss has an unexpected emergency. And to top it off his sister shows up and throws him into quite a tailspin.

We then meet Kate who since losing her job gains a temporary position at the inn. Dealing with her own family drama with her dad she collides with Rupert and sparks begin to fly.

They had a lovely way of bringing these two characters together. The writing was believable, the scenery cozy, and the story flew right by to a satisfying conclusion. Perfect book to curl up with by the fire.

Very much look forward to Helen’s next book and more future Boldwood titles. They are truly the best.

I loved this Rupert ‘s story. . His sisters secret was terrible. I did wonder if it could be something like that but not that bad. We do judge..Katy was a great character and I am glad she got her happy ending. You don’t have to have read the others to read this. I love the Inn. A fab read.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks also to the publisher and the author. A sweet cozy romance with family dynamics added in. The protagonist works at a small hotel and gets involved with her coworker’s family experiences. She also has family issues. A widower father and a new lady in his life…sisters and a mom. Both of these characters are so wrapped up in their own families they do not have time for anything else except work. Quirky characters…fun quick read…I liked this book.
