Losing a parent at a young age makes for a rough start in life. Having a mother who struggles with mental health on top of that is even Harding, pushing Marion to become a selective mute after the tragedy of losing her father.

Marion decides to jump into finding out who her father really in, pushing hard to find all the answers about him and his childhood, She finds herself at a campsite in the countryside. Away from the people at home holding her back.

On Marions journey of self reflection she grows as an individual and becomes a better version of who she once was.
Not always being an easy one


Unfortunately for me this story fell a little flat, I am glad I read this book and I would still recommend to my friends, but personally it just isn’t my cup of tea.

I had to stop reading this book because nothing happend and I had to force myself to read it, which in my opinion is just a waste of time. Maybe I'll come back to it another time...

I love Beth Moran books, although this was slightly different to previous ones I've read.
A slow start but this developed into a sweet, emotional story.

This is a sweet book but I think there could have been more resolutions addressed by the end.

This was ADORABLE - I loved it SO, incredibly much. The cover is beautiful and so is the story inside! Will be seeing this on a lot of bookshelves for sure.

Wow this book was not what I anticipated. It was heartrending in places and charming in others, sweet but with a darker side. Although I did enjoy it, I was frustrated that Marion's deep and sincere trauma was never really handled out in the open, or even in therapy. However I appreciated that the ending felt more like a beginning and I'm happy to believe that some more recovery is in her future.

The best thing about the story for me was the cast of supporting characters, and their friendships with Marion. I really enjoyed the way that they helped her find her confidence and I'm very sad that I can't go and stay and Peace and Pigs for real!

I liked this story, but my remark is that I wouldn't classify it as a romance. Romantic feelings aren't even mentioned until the last third of the book, and even then it is more of a subplot.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it. The book is about grieving, finding a place to call home, discovering yourself, and making friendships. Marion goes through a lot of character-development throughout the story. It was nice to see her blossom in the Pigs and Peace holiday park.

Another thing I liked about the book was that it was very emotional, but all the emotions were realistic. It just made sense.

Overall, an enjoyable read!

I loved this sweet tale of Marion who has had a tough childhood in Ireland and ventures to England to get some questions answered. She meets Scarlett who takes her in and gives her a job. Before you know it Marion has found true friends and a family who loves and accepts her as she is. And she gets some of those questions answered. There is love, laughter, and heartbreak. Beth Moran does a great job weaving her story and making her readers fall in love with all of her characters. Well, most of them.

I am here to say that I am just a Beth Moran fan account now. I love her writing and characters and settings and whimsy that she dashes into her stories.

You can get lost in them in the best way possible.and totally fall in love with everyone in the book.

This was no different and I'm forever grateful for the ARC.

Two generations stories entwined. . Relationships are complicated and not always understood by others.
A strained mother daughter relationship leads to hidden secrets when the mother dies.
Never knowing her father to know that he left her an inheritance and isn't even dead leaves lots of questions.
A complex tale but one that will keep you engrossed from start to finish.

I absolutely adore Beth's books, the interwoven, fascinating stories that she writes allow the reader to sink down inside and thoroughly enjoy the well written characters, I also live within the area and it's wonderful to recognise the places that are mentioned, well done!

This is such an emotional book, a complete rollercoaster. Although, it is so well written that it holds your interest throughout and you feel yourself really getting into he story and really caring for the characters.


What kind of magic does Beth Moran put in her stories?!

Because You Loved me, wow this was an emotional, heartbreaking kind of a story. With family monsters never far away and redemptions towards the end it was a tear jerker for the most part. There was also some happy, swoony, fun and romantic moments too.

Emotional roller coaster of a book, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. Slow start which will put people off but overall good read. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

This is one of those books I didn't want to end..I got totally immersed in the lives of the inhabitants of Peace and Pigs campsite, a place of healing and second chances. Scarlette welcomes all comers with open arms, no judgements or preconceptions and with her gentle southern belle charm and wisdom, helps the broken to put their pieces back together again. So many poignant stories interwoven in this beautiful book making a patchwork quilt that you want to wrap round yourself and hug closely to your heart. Some delicious laugh out loud moments counterbalance the sad ones. One of those special books I will remember fondly for ever like time spent with dear friends

Judging by the cover, I expected a light, cozy story that you just know it's going to have a happy ending.
At its base, with some of the scenes, it can pass as a cozy romance, but there's actually so much sadness, trauma, and grief. It was like an avalanche of sad events. Although at some point it felt overwhelming for me, I would've still liked it more if that tone continued throughout the book. By that I mean: I know that you can mix both heavy, sad events and light, happy moments, and still have a beautiful story, but in this case I feel like some of the stuff were just ignored and we moved on from them without properly resolving them. I don't want to spoil anything, but some relationship arcs didn't sit right with me, or some apologies that never came. It was too cozy for such a heavy (back)story. I enjoyed this book, but thinking about it, I want to take some of the storylines out and remake them in a different light.

Marion comes to Sherwood Forest running away from her painful past to try to discover her father’s story. In her quest to find the truth about the r father she will face all her demons and finally find peace with her past and a great future ahead. Robin Hood is coming to save her or will she save herself? Sweet, funny, sometime sad but always full of love and hope

Marion has left Northern Ireland for a new start but also trying to learn more about her father. She stumbles upon Scarlett and her campsite. As she stays, Marion learns more about herself and what family is.

I can see a lot of people liking this book but it just wasn’t for me! I think though this would be a good beach or vacation read for a lot of people!

Originally when requesting Because You Loved Me I thought it was going to be similar to a really cute romcom, and while there is romance in the book it is a secondary plot. The main plot features Marion, a woman who has run away to an English campsite, Pigs and Peace. She is running from a traumatizing past, an unsatisfying present and a bleak future. At Pigs and Peace, Marion starts to find a found family, a man she fancies and most importantly she is finding herself. Let me tell you that journey is not without its struggles, honestly unfortunate things keep happening, but Marion showed impressive resilience and strength in overcoming said unfortunate things. Honesty I'm not going to lie a lot of this book was kind of sad, but overall, it didn't feel like a completely sad book. I believe this has a lot to do with the fact that there was so much positivity weaved through the sadness. Overall though I thought Because You Loved Me was a gorgeous tale about found family, finding yourself, and overcoming struggles.
