an adventurous of the smurf. On cinema or tv you can also watch a quite similar adventures and stories. However a very nice way to tell a story, made by books.

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
The book had the smurfs in the first half and the adventures of Johan and Peewit in the second. Both stories were ok. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were a bigger fan of either series.

This is a Spoiler free review.

If you want a bit of 1980's nostalgia then please read, The Smurf Tales #6. It's a fast read and very entertaining. Every other word is Smurf and it's awesome. These Smurf comics feel like they are taken right out of the old cartoons. They are fun, full of hijinx, and Smurfy!

It's so entertaining to see what antics the Smurfs get themselves into and how Papa Smurf will try to help them and save the day. I love reading the antics Brainy, Clumsy, and Smurfette get into.

After reading this I wanted to watch the old 1980's cartoons. By coincidence my son's recently discovered the 1980's The Smurfs cartoon series on Youtube Kids. So we've been having a Smurfy time at our house.

Please read The Smurf Tales #6 and enjoy a few good laughs.

Stay awesome and keep reading!

I had a hard time putting this graphic novel down. Papa Smurf is trying to get some work done, but the Smurfs keep bringing their problems to him. He comes up with a solution, and for a while peace seems to have returned to the village. Yet when new issues are brought to him, he gives two Smurfs an important job. With an big event coming up, Papa Smurf needs to focus on it going off without a hitch. When someone starts causing trouble, these Smurfs try to find out who is behind it. The culprit takes them by surprise, but it teaches them all a good lesson. Fans of the previous Smurf Tales books will want to check this one out.

I'm reviewing this via an advanced look through NetGalley.com. Unfortunately, NetGalley.com only have half of the volume. Tracking down prior books in the series provide a good understanding of the whole, despite misting half. Thus, this review is only of the half, speculating of the missing.

Also, this review is of a digital version, not the print version. Though my library includes many volumes made by PaperCuts and can confidently write that I have little doubt of the print quality.

First off, the artwork is outstanding. Pierre Culliford, known here as Peyo, was a fantastic cartoonist and storyteller artistically. This volume demonstrated that. Moreover, this book not only presents the Smurf characters, but other characters that are little known that Peyo created. Thus, presenting Peyo's skills beyond little blue men.

The setting are also very well drawn. From the fascinating approach to the living structures to landscape, Peyo was a master.

The stories are good, but a bit convoluted and bloated. The troubles Peyo created as he developed the Smurfs is that all of the Smurfs are the same, just with a different name and adding glasses or hair or this or that. Not easy to develop characters with that basis. Another plus to this volume is the story not with Smurf-central characters. This other tale shows Peyo could create real characters outside of Smurfs.

Sadly, the NetGalley.com 82 pages of the 160, cuts off the last few pages of the second tale and I'm unclear how that ends. Up to the point of cutoff, the second tale is far better than the overwritten first.

I will add, as much I love seeing the Smurf characters on the cover, the cover is otherwise empty of the contents. A more involved cover showing more inside would, seems to me, more marketable and enticing and honest of so much more inside the book than Smurfs.

The best of all is that the Peyo tales are being reprinted and available in a market of angry and dark volumes of politically driven stuff in graphic novels and comic books.

Bottom line: I recommend this book. 9 out of ten points.

Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me to read this arc.

The Smurfs Tales 6 is split up into two different comics. First, you have e cute and fun comic about the Smurfs in their village. Were they struggling with making new rules and how to follow them. The second part of this comic is the adventures of Johan and Peewit. Then you follow two men on their adventure to save a witch and her mother.

I love love the Smurfs and have read everything in dutch and french. This story was already familiar to me, but I still had a lot of fun reading it. It's cute, funny and it does teach you some lessons about life in a fun way.
I loved the banter they have with each other and the way they end up fiction the problems they have created.

The second comic was also familiar, but I don't really like it. I am just not a fan of Johan and Peewit, never been and never will. As a child, I always disliked it when the second story was about them and I still do as an adult. When I am reading a comic about the Smurfs, I want it to be just that. All about the Smurfs.

It's fantastic that these Smurf stories are finally getting an English translation. These characters are just as endearing as they were when they debuted 65 years ago.

I am so glad they’re making Smurf tails into graphic novels and from reading this book I saw a plethora of other Smurf tale books on Amazon and this is so exciting to me. This was my favorite cartoon as a young girl and although I am a 50 year old grown woman I still love reading about Smurfs tales as it brings back fond memories not to mention the narrative made me laugh and I loved seeing Smurfette and baby Smurf again. Even if you’ve never heard of the Smurfs you need to get familiar with Papa Smurf and the rest of the Smurfs I love them and loved this book. I have since purchased two more and can’t wait to read them I absolutely love these books and enjoyed going back in time. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I would like to thank Papercutz and NetGalley for granting me this ARC in exchange for writing an honest review!

This comic was everything I needed. It contains 2 different storylines and illustrations. I loved the first story as it revolved around the Smurf village more. I have always been a fan of the Smurfs as I watched the animation growing up and getting this ARC made me so happy and nostalgic. I was so engrossed in the comic and graphics because it just makes my inner child (and adult) very very happy. If you are a Smurf fan just like me, then you should pick this comic up and satisfy that part that loves the Smurfs.

Words I will be using daily after reading this comic (some are hilarious and I won't be taken seriously):
1. I don't give a smurf
2. smurftastic
3. I am going to smurf you three slaps
4. smurdegradable!
5. I'm going to have a nervous smurfdown!
6. For smurf's sake!

"Appeal to their sympathy…
Easier said than done!"

A wonderful story of Smurfs, as always. This one is longer than usual, but fun to read as well. The story of Smurfs who one day need order and law amidst themselves, and they got Police Smurf in the process. The series then followed with The Adventure of Johan and Peewit, another childhood favorite comics.

I loved the Smurfs when I was a kid!! I have not seen the cartoon in years so when I saw this book I could not wait to read and review. It brought back so many fond memories of Papa Smurf, the village, and the other Smurfs. The stories were cute and fun to read. I think children of all ages especially if they love the Smurfs will enjoy this book.

Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for this free eARC.
I've loved the Smurfs when I was a child and now I am so happy to be able to read this great vomic book to my two little girls. We all enjoyed this mysterious adventure the Smurfs encountered. And even though there was no Gargamel this time there was planty of action and confusion and running around as usual.
I recommend this for all the parents and everyone who still considers oneself to be a child still.

This is a quick and fun read if your kids love Smurfs! 85 pages of blue Smurf adventures kept my kid busy for the afternoon, and giggles and laughter were coming from her room. She also promptly asked when there is going to be the next Smurf book.
Later I read the book too and I must admit it is a nice one. Nice and fun drawings, a true graphic novel with just the right balance of text/drawings, and fun stories, not too long and not too short.

I didn't knew a smurf book could be this boring. Aside from seeing the smurf village and lots of smurfs, I didn't actually got anything from the actual storyline. It's kind of basic and then the execution was basic as well.

4 stars

The Smurfs never get old for me. No matter how often I read the books about them or watch the cartoon, I always get enjoyment from it.

The graphic novel did not disappoint. It still holds the magic that these adorable, loveable, friendly, heartwarming and fun characters I have always loved.

Also what I find is quite amazing, is even after all these years, the stories keep coming. New fresh adventures of The Smurfs. Definitely recommend for those who are also a fan of the show.

Thank you to NetGalley and Papercutz for the preview of The Smurf Takes #6. I requested this from NetGalley for my son Tommy, a massive Smurfs fan who has all the books in the series. Tommy absolutely loved Volume #6...he said he couldn't decide which story was his favorite, he really loved them both. He particularly loved the addition of the policemen smurfs..he loves when the author incorporates aspects of the human world into the Smurf world. He found both stories to be quite humorous as well. Story had great details in the art work as well as good flow with the narrative.
