Thank you NetGalley and BookBuzz.net for accepting my request to read and review The Wrong Kind of Magic.

Author: Hilary Hauck
Published: 09/27/22
Genre: Middle Grade -- Sci Fi & Fantasy

The synopsis is clear, and will not be repeated.

This is much to my surprise a middle grade Sci Fi & Fantasy book; I do believe my first. I loved the illustrations and the bright colors. The story itself was a unique tale for me, and I thought it was a little long. However, I definitely would gift this.

It's peculiar enough to grab attention and quaintly festive.

We loved this feel good book. We read it as a whole family read together and it was a delight. A short but lovely book. I can see this becoming a Christmas classic. We will definately read this again. The magic of Christmas in a book.

I received a free eARC of this book so I could read it. Thank you for the opportunity.

Marley doesn't want to go to her grandparents for Christmas with her brother and sister, but when magic takes over, toys come to life, and Santa is particularly unhappy, it changes her mind. This is a sweet, fun MG Christmas book that will appeal to kids who don't necessarily feel comfortable with their families, even at the holidays.

This is an appropriate book for school libraries and classrooms.
