Lexi and Trevor have been friends since childhood - will letting each other know their romantic feelings for one another ruin their long-time friendship?

This book was a slow burn friends-to-lovers trope with excruciating narration and way too much description of mundane things (ie their jobs at the local newspaper, the food that they ate, and their opinions about each others’ exes). Character development was non existent, and the climax of the story didn’t happen until nearly 97% of the book.

The dual POV narration was accomplished by two of the driest narrators I’ve encountered thus far in my reading journey, but the story itself was the biggest culprit. The female narrator (Amy McFadden) spoke with a midwestern/valley girl accent and enunciated every word, which made the dialogue painful to listen to. The unknown male narrator was slightly better but, again, given the story he was working with, just fell short as well.

I adored this book. I think what made it special to me was the fact that it was set in Southwest Ohio where I live. Local towns and schools, local restaurants like Frisch's, desserts like Buckeyes, and other things only us Ohioans understand and love,,, having those things in here helped be able to relate and immerse myself into the story, making it feel like it was someone I know. The friends to lovers trope is one of my favorites and this love story did that really well. I love Savannah Scott's writing and can't wait to read more from them. The narrators are fantastic and fit the characters perfectly!

Like the story. It was light and easy. Nothing special but at least I was able to finish it. It was not so much sparks on my tast. Still can recommend it to someone love friends to lovers type of story

This book reminded me of those overly cheesy Hallmark movies and although I enjoyed the characters the story didn't quite do it for me. I also almost didn't finish this book because the beginning was so slow.

This audiobook got me through a night time roadtrip in the middle of nowhere Nebraska so bonus points for keeping me sane. Very cute.

Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

3/5 Star - 0.5/5 Spice

So if you ever need a frame of reference for a clean slow-burn romance that's friends to lovers, this is the book. So for my review, while I didn't not enjoy it, it just felt like an incredibly simple plot. The only part of best friend romances I CAN'T is the heroine going through "OMG, hes my best friend, and I know he loves me, but I don't think I'm good enough for him." No. Stop. Ma'am get that toxic thinking out of here please and thank you. While this book was cute and simple, I am excited to continue on in the series, because I'm hoping all of the secondary characters that are Trevor and Lexi's friends deserve love too!

Brief Plot: Trevor and Lexi have been best friends almost their whole life, and have both harbored feelings for each other, but other than two minor attempts of Trevor trying to push their relationship further, they have both stayed in the friend zone. Now however, Lexi is joining dating sites, and Trevor's ex is back in town, and will the two finally profess their feelings, or settle for just being Friends.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an eARC Audiobook copy of Friendshipped written by Savannah Scott, and narrated by Amy McFadden and Will Damron. This is my honest review.

Oh dear. This was supposed to be a slow burn, but it barely caught fire. I love a good friends to lovers, but the Lexi and Trevor spend so much time avoiding what was completely obvious to everyone around them. For two best friends, I wished they really talked and listened to each other more. There was a lot of room for more to happen, but it just never did.

This was such a sweet romcom. I love a friends to lovers trope and this one was so good. Lexie tries a dating app and ends up on some hilarious dates! Trevor watches her date and realizes he needs to do something. He asks Lexi's friend for help. This is a slow burn romance. I enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the next one in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

While this book was both interesting and cute, to me it lost one star for feeling kind of hollow and lost another star for relying on a weak miscommunication trope. The main piece of miscommunication for this book was two times where the hero tried to shoot his shot and something got in the way. The first time the heroine had a panic reaction she immediately regretted (9 years ago), and the second time the heroine was already dating someone when the hero asked her out so the hero just bounced (3 years ago). Since it was so awkward they decide to just never talk about either and pretend they never happened and because of that neither knew the other like them (even though it was really obvious).
The miscommunication wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much If the miscommunication wasn't essentially the only thing driving the plot it wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much, but now the book just makes me think of the "Dora it's behind you meme" since that's how I felt during the majority of it....
That said, it was definitely still a funny book that had a lot of cute moments so I do still plan on reading the next book in the series. I just really hope it doesn't make me want to shake sense into nonexistent people.

Friendshipped is the first in what I am thinking will end up being a really fun series by Savannah Scott. This was a friends to more story that centers around Lexi and Trevor. That is definitely my favorite romance trope and this one was done well. The story was told from first person point of view of both characters and alternated by chapters. It was complete with fun banter, meddling family and friends, and online dating mishaps. It was apparent just how well the two characters knew each other and how deep their friendship was. Readers met some of the characters in this book whose stories come later in the series and I am looking forward to them. My only complaint was that I found the story to be a bit slow at times throughout the book. If you are looking for a fun, clean, lighthearted romance I would definitely recommend this book. I enjoyed listening to the story because both narrators did a fantastic job.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for an audio copy of this book. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

From friends to lovers. Lexi and Trevor are great friends but to not ruin their relationship they refuse to get out of the friendzone. Eventually Trevor kept pushing until Lexi couldn’t resist any longer.
This was my first Savannah Scott Read and the first book in this series. The combination of Savannah’s writing and the narrations of Amy McFadden with Will Damron keep me wanting more!

A cute, funny and fluffy romance of two friends who know they love one another but don't want to do anything about it because they don't want to ruin their friendship. I loved it so much, this kind of book is my jam and the narrator made Savannahs work even better.

This was a cute friends to lovers book. I really liked Trevor’s character and I loved their friendship from childhood into adulthood. I just thought the book dragged on. They were both pining for each other, but it was really slow. Overall I liked the story and liked how they ended up together, but just wish it wasn’t such a long book

I adore friends to lovers. Lexi and Trevor were the best couple. Friends since they were kids and always just missing their chance together. When Lexi signs up for a dating app, Trevor steps up. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I really enjoyed this one. The town was so cute and I loved all of the characters. This one definitely made me laugh more than your average romance and I was rooting for this couple the entire time! A sweet & simple romance listen!

This was your basic Hallmark movie romance. It was very cute and fluffy and the characters were fun and likable but thats just it, everything was basic. There was nothing new or interesting in this book. It was cute and I had fun but it's not spectacular.
I will say if you are looking for a romance with no spice you may want to consider this one.

This was a cute idea, but ultimately I didn’t have chemistry with the voice and couldn’t finish the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute. A little repetitive and predictable, but a very cute romcom. Some good banter but no spice. Kind of Hallmark-esq. Would recommend for a light, fluffy read to make you smile and warm your heart.

This has major slow burn vibes. It was well done and captivating. I was rooting for the characters the whole time. This was a stop everything a listen kid of audiobook for me. Loving the series.
