This is a sweet, lighthearted rom-com. Neighbors, childhood friends, and current best friends that believe they're strictly in the friend zone or are they?!

3.5 stars

I enjoyed this one. It was light and even made me laugh in spots. Trevor and Lexi are best friends who share a duplex and work at the same newspaper, though Trevor gets the better stories, and even though Lexi has had feelings for Trevor forever she has not let him know. Now when she is trying to move past that she is trying a dating app and when she finds someone she wants to get to know it just so happens to be Trevor and neither knows they are communicating with the other. What will happen when they finally figure that out. This one had me smiling my way through it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This was a sweet book with lovable characters. I enjoyed getting to know not only the main characters, but the side characters as well. I thought the romance was so sweet.

My only complaint with this one was the repetition of the main character's thoughts. They repeatedly tell the reader that they don't want to mess up the amazing friendship relationship that they have, that they are madly in love with the other, but don't believe the feelings are mutual, and that their first attempts at moving out of the friend zone didn't work so well.

Normally, the repetition would be enough to put me off a book, but I really wanted to see them get together and there were plenty of humorous bits included that made the story enjoyable as well.

Overall, this was a fun story and I look forward to reading the next in the series. I'm so glad that these stories are being released on audio. I plan to listen to them all.

I listened to the audio narrated by Amy McFadden and Will Damron. I thought they were both wonderful and brought the characters to life. I hope to listen to more of their work.

Y’all, I can’t believe I’ve put off reading Savannah Scott’s books for this long… SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE HOOT AND A HALF🤣❤️

I listened to the audio version of “Friend(Shipped)” and believe me when I say the narrators KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!😍 They were so fun to listen to and they truly made the story come to life🥳

As for the contents of the story, Savannah’s sense of humor was MADE for me!! From chapter one I was already giggling to myself as I read. The gas station scene was a RIOT🤣 And Trevor’s list of adjectives describing potatoes had me dying😂

Trevor was SUCH a sweet book boyfriend and I LOVED getting to learn about his career as a food critic. His penchant for late night hedge-trimming was downright HILARIOUS🤣 Lexi was a very fun character too! I loved the way she took care of her friends and supported them through tough times🥹❤️

As a new Ohioan myself, my heart beamed at all the Ohio references throughout the book!! And the bored oxen😆👏🏼

My favorite parts…
ALL of Lexi’s date-fails😩🤣
The haiku 😳🤨😂
“Trevy”😭😅🤣
Birthday scavenger hunt🥹😍
Tornado lockdown😍😍😍

Overall, I adored “Friend(Shipped)” and absolutely cannot wait to continue in this series🥳

🚨Content: this is a clean romance with no language and no implied intimacy!

🚨TW: mentions of dieting / struggles with body image.

A mostly cute best friends to romantic partners storyline. Lexi and Trevor are adorable and yet keep getting in their own way. Missed opportunities, misunderstandings, unwillingness to risk what they have, some truly annoying interference from mostly well meaning people that ultimately leads to exactly what we came here to read. A fun HEA of two good people who finally figured it out. I did find some of messaging very antiquated. What century was Lexi’s sister living in? Worrying that Lexi’s eggs would shrivel and she’d die alone when she was 23? Not great messaging in the year 2022. Cute ending. I enjoyed the alternating chapters from each of the main characters perspective and experience. Terrific narration.

I really enjoyed this friends-to-lovers romance by Savannah Scott. After seeing that this is the first of a series, I am eager to read the following books. Lexi and Trevor are soulmates and it is evident from the beginning. Like most friends-to-lovers tropes, they are scared of ruining their friendship but are desperately in love with each other. This situation has to be a hard one to navigate but Scott makes this story exciting and hard to put down.

I love the chemistry between Lexi and Trevor. Every interaction between them had me rooting for them to end up together. Nobody knows them like they do each other so it only makes sense that they fall for each other. Through many ups and downs, they have to learn to make the hard decision to tell each other their feelings.

This story was heartfelt and hilarious. The many witty and unique side characters made for a great addition to the story. Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for allowing me a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I am looking forward to reading other books by Savannah Scott.

This was an adorable friends to lovers read. I enjoyed the characters and the plot moved at a nice pace. I enjoyed the weather part of the story because I'm from the south and frequently deal with it myself. You don't read much about tornadoes in romance subplots and it was cool. However, I'm a big fan of *spice* in my romance books and this didn't have any. I would have preferred SOMETHING. Especially since it ended very quickly after the HEA. I can live without it though because the cuteness made up for it.

𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 by Savannah Scott; narrated by Amy McFadden & Will Damron

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre/tropes: fiction, romance, best friends-to-lovers

Lexi and Trevor have been friends forever, and have been secretly pining for each other. Both in their early 20’s, they’ve moved back to their small hometown after going their separate ways at college. They live together (she rents the other half of his house), they work together at the newspaper, they carpool together , and they go on assignments together. It’s a lot of together, and a lot of pining.

I thought I’d grow weary of it because there’s only so much of that you can take before it becomes repetitive. But I was pleasantly surprised by the sequence of events that made things between them interesting and shook things up. One of them being the return of Lexi’s nemesis, Trevor’s former high school girlfriend looking to rekindle things. Then there’s also Lexi’s disastrous but hilarious turn at online dating.

Admittedly there were times I wished they’d grow up and just come right out and tell the other how they felt. But I get it that their friendship was just too precious to jeopardize. One thing that did bother me was Lexi’s quips about needing to settle down and find her partner in life soon, alluding to her getting old. I didn’t like that messaging. Girl, you’re 22,23! You’ve plenty of time to sort yourself out.

Both narrators were good for this dual POV story. Though it took Lexi and Trevor ages to mutually cross that line, I loved witnessing their bond, their attachment to family, friends, and their hometown. It’s wholesome with some low to mid heat that works perfectly for this story.

Thanks to @netgalley & @dreamscape_media for my ALC. this is my honest review.

First of all, I want to say thank you to Kindle and NetGalley for gifting me with a copy of Friendshipped. I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much. It was a cute rom com in which a guy and a girl are literally the best of friends and are secretly keeping their feelings about one another hidden. In fact, they will do anything it takes for the other not to find out their true feelings because of fear that it will ruin their amazing friendship. I loved the back and forth of this story and was desperately yelling to these characters to just open up already. lol. It's one of those, you hate the book so much that you love it. I highly recommend.

This book was so cute! I have never read anything by Savannah Scott before but I'm definitely going to change that. I can't wait to see what happens with Laura and Rob <3

This was a miss for me. It was basically a cringe worthy montage of miscommunication and bad dates right up until the end. It was closed door, which isn’t a big deal, but the lack of spice to offset the sweet made it feel pretty cheesy.

If you are looking for a sweet, light, friends to lovers romance then this is the book for you. Trevor and Lexie have been best friends for basically their entire lives. Both are worried that they will ruin their friendship if they tell the other that they are totally in love with them. When Lexie joins an online dating app Trevor has to sit back and be the supportive best friend. From dates with morticians to a guy with a really bad toupee, there are a lot of laughs and mishaps along the way. This was a really fun romcom and I enjoyed myself immensely!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this book! This is the first book I’ve read by Savannah Scott and I adored it. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. When I saw the audiobook version was available through NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to listen to it. I was not disappointed. The dual narration was perfect and I loved both the male and female narrators. It’s a hilarious, sweet, romantic romcom that was so enjoyable to listen to.

This friends to lovers trope has a bit of a second chance romance too. Lexi and Trevor are both adorable, but you want to slap them both upside the head because they are both in love with one another but don’t want to ruin their best friends status they’ve had since childhood. After college, they both moved home to the small Ohio town they grew up in. They both live next door to each other in a duplex and work at the same office. They even commute together. But, underneath it all is this building tension and longing for each other. Both worry though that the other doesn’t feel the same way. All of this comes to a head when Lexi is talked into creating an online profile for a dating app to support her friend and an old high school flame of Trevor’s comes back to town.

Trevor agonizes over each date Lexi goes on and lucky for him they all seem to go badly, very badly. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the crazy things that happen on her dates. With each one though, Trevor realizes he’s dodged a bullet and that the next one could be Mr. Right. He comes up with a plan to try to win Lexi’s heart, even though his past attempts have led to disappointment. He hopes this one last shot will finally win him her heart.

Definitely recommend this to romcom and sweet romance fans. It’s a must read! I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to read Savannah’s books! So excited to read the rest of the series. I received an advanced complimentary audiobook from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

Was this book a brand new original concept? No, definitely not. Was it still able to captivate me and hold my attention? Absolutely! This trope of best friends secretly in love with each other and never revealing it due to miscommunications is something that has been done, but this was just a cute read that kept me going forward. The connection between Trevor and Lexi was dynamic and something that kept me wanting to see where it was going to go. It was overall a little anti-climatic in the end with no real hurdle to jump through other than admitting their feelings. It was a cute closed door read and I would definitely pick up a sequel about Rob and Laura. And after googling, I have found out that the book has already been written as this is a series!! Definitely going to be picking up that book.

Thank you to Dreamscape media and NetGalley for the free audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Friendshipped is a friends to lovers, small town romance with a LOT of miscommunication. I think the story could've been much more concise - it seemed to be largely miscommunication build up over and over with the same conversations..and suddenly ended with marriage.. I don't know, I think there could've been a lot more character development and missed opportunity for storylines (could've had a lot more potential!). I also didn't find the fatphobia/diet culture to be resolved. Overall a sweet, light and fluffy romcom.
The narrators did a fantastic job.

"Friendshipped" is a super cute, sweet romance about two lifelong friends who can't seem to get the stars to align correctly. Kind of a "When Harry Met Sally" like story, where one will be ready to take the plunge while the other just started a new relationship, this is one of those stories where you know how it ends, but it's definitely worth the ride.
I must admit, "friends to lovers" is one of my favorite tropes, which is why I grabbed this book. I thought this one totally delivered and was relieved that the characters stayed within their friendship throughout (instead of creating weird conflict that real close friends would never do, which happens a lot in these novels).
Overall, a great read/listen!

If you are looking for a sweet romance with true small town vibes, you may like this one. Seriously, very small town Midwestern (spoken as someone who lived it!) It is a friend's to lovers, small town romance with little drama other than their lack of communication. There are fun friendships and lots of family involved.

The whole 'I like him. He likes me. We both are gonna talk about it, but not with each other' is kind of exhausting as it'm just keeps happening. If you like miscommuniction, this books has LOTS for you. This book was sort of surpisingly Christian? I don't usually read books that are this 'sweet' and talk about praying, so that was a surprise. It kind of felt wrapped in purity culture, which I did not like. THEY ARE SO YOUNG. She's literally 23 at the beginning and going on about how it's taking so long for her to get married. I am so shook. I guess it makes sense, once I realized the christian context, but it was super weird to me how determined she was to be married off.

The pacing is not right for a book this long and the story is kind of lacking--there almost needed to be another issue or something to keep the story engaging. It was 95% buildup and miscommunication and then BAM instant lifelong commitment. To me, it was just really lacking in development and variety of situations. (it was like groundhog day, the same conversations over and over).

**I did like the audiobook narration! The dual POV with two narrators is. A good choice and definitley a good one here!!!

Thank you to Netgalley for this advanced copy for review.

Friendshipped by Savannah Scott is my first book by this author. I loved this book so much. The friends-to-Lovers trope is one of my favorites ever, these two are besties since childhood. I stayed late until I finished listening to this eARC (audiobook). I felt it was also well narrated by Amy McFadden and Will Damron, both did a fantastic job. Thank you so much NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for giving me the chance to enjoy this audiobook that was so cute, and so lovable. Let me tell you, I live for the SMUT in my books but this story was well developed that I didn't need the smut. I love Lexi and Trevor, even though Lexi was extremely clueless; Trevor was obvious AF about his feelings, I was like "C'mon woman!! even I know this guy's feelings!" Friendshipped made me laugh so much. Thanks!

Friend(shipped) by Savannah Scott

A cute romcom to keep me company while cleaning. Romcom audiobooks are my genre of choice when I have some cleaning to do. They are light, fun and don’t take a lot of concentration while listening to.

Friend(shipped) worked perfectly for that. The narrators are awesome and they really brought the book to life.

Trevor and Lexi have been best friends since childhood and in love with each other for almost as long. Being from and in a small town, they really don’t want to ruin their friendship but if there’s a chance for more, it could be so good. Trevor has made a few moves in the past that didn’t go over so well. Lexi is convinced he is now sure they couldn’t be anything more than friends, but when Lexi’s sister signs her up for a dating app things start to change. Practically living to together (on opposite sides of a duplex,) working together and being best friends, there’s nothing they’re not involved in together. They carpool each day, have a standing Friday night movie, and their friend group is always getting together.

They have special rituals, like stargazing after a hard day, know each others break up songs, and are so obviously in love it was hard not to scream at them. 😆 The chemistry is great. Their reason for taking it so slow is solid but that didn’t make me happy about it. It was swoony, and a great listen. If you enjoy good slow burn then this is the book for you.

What’s it about?
Lexi and Trevor have been best friends since they were children. But that’s all they have ever been. A couple of times over their lives, Trevor has attempted to love them out of the friend zone, but it never panned out. Now both think the other only wants to be friends. Lexi tries out a dating app, and is met with multiple disasters. Trevor’s ex moves back in town and is after him. Will these two ever be able to be more than just friends?

My take:
So many things to love with this book! The humor is fantastic. Scott has a way of painting a scene and mixing it with just the right amount of realistic absurdity. Those dates! Shudder. I also personally loved that this book is set in Southwest Ohio! All the Ohio references and small towns made my heart sing.

I do wish the miscommunication hadn’t been quite so drawn out. This story is the slowest of slow burns and I aches for some more “almost” scenes with Trevor and Lexi.

The ending was super sweet though and I look forward to the next in the series.

I should also note that the audiobook narration of this was perfection. Both actors did an amazing job and fit the voice of the characters well.
