I don’t listen to a lot of audio books, but decided for a change of pace to try this one, very admirably narrated by voice actors Amy McFadden and Will Damron. Ohio natives Lexi and Trevor grew up down the street from one another, work for the same newspaper, and now share a duplex. They have been best friends forever, with two failed attempts by Trevor (once in high school, once in college) to move their relationship out of the Friend Zone. The relationship hasn’t evolved or fizzled because they are each secretly in love with one another, and so convinced the other doesn’t feel the same, neither will take the risk of rejection or destroying their friendship. This sophomoric behavior and refusal to communicate is the central tension of this friends to lovers romance.

As a gentle read, with warm family and community relationships, expletives limited to “Oh my sweet pickles!” and no admittance of sex, this is a real throwback. Not even the threat of a tornado and just!one!bed! trope disrupts their ethos to not ruin their friendship. In spite of the dating app that brings several duds to Lexi, and that Trevor hops on to connect with Lexi at a friends insistence, this could have been set anytime in the last thirty years except for a few modern musical and Hollywood references. Lexi at times seems immature for her almost-23 years, and at other times, matronly and chaste. Trevor speaks with great sensitivity all the time and the wholesome of the characters was warm and sweet but not always believable. Overall, this slow burn was too painfully slow for me.

The voice actors are both very talented but I found Lexi’s midwestern twang seasoned with a hint of valley girl (attributed to her youth, and identifiable from her more polished mother and sister and aged MeMaw) to be mildly annoying and more Minnesota than Ohio. The commitment to a new distinctive voice for each character introduced is impressive and consistent, and the accents are authentic enough (although my mother’s Columbus relatives hard R’s are softened by a faint West Virginian drawl). This sweet story will be widely appealing to readers looking for a kind and cozy story.

I received a free advance reader’s edition of #Friend(Shipped) from #NetGalley.

I absolutely loved this one by Savannah! I loved the others in the series, but I think this one was my favorite!

I was attracted to this novel from both the cover and the main trope, friends to lovers, which is one I particularly enjoy. I originally read this as an ARC almost a year ago, but really wanted to revisit the story as well as check out the audiobook version. The narration was great and it immersed me so well. I loved the dual narration and felt like overall, both narrators did an excellent job. Trevor's character felt a bit older in moments, but blended well with the story, so I would say it was more a win than not. It was easy to listen to and follow along. They brought the story to life in a way that really captured the heart of the story. I definitely recommend the audiobook version.
Thank you to Netgalley and the audiobook publisher for my advance listening copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had such high hopes this seemed like a cute will they won't they best friends who ate blind to there feelings to find out it they both feel the same. The reveal of the feelings they both had took way to long to get there and the 2 of them honestly should of talked a long time ago. But we go the whole book waiting then by the time we got there I didn't care anymore. Sad I wasn't a fan.

If you like SLOW SLOW burns then give it a shot. It was just to slow for me.

Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange for my honest review

Friends to lovers is a good trope, not my favorite. But I felt like Friendshipped had a good amount of tension between Lexi and Trevor as the both are in love with each but think the other just wants to be friends.

I loved the narrators! I thought they were perfect for Lexi and Trevor. The story was so fun and entertaining to listen to.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this audiobook. This is my honest voluntary review.

💐 BOOK REVIEW 💐

Friend(shipped) - Savannah Scott
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
0/ 🌶

“Can you keep a secret? ... I'm in love with my best friend.

There are three things you should know about me.
I hate running. No, really. I only run when someone's chasing me, and thankfully that's never happened.
My ideal Friday night includes pizza, The Princess Bride, and dancing with abandon.
And, I'm madly in love with my best friend.
That right there, that's my secret.”

This was the CUTEST friends-to-lovers books I’ve come across in a while. It really was just so pure. I loved the humor. I really loved both Lexi and Trevor! Their relationship was friends-to-lover goals!

I’m looking forward to reading the other books in this series!

Thank you @netgalley @savannahscott_author and @dreamscape_media for allowing me to review this audiobook.

There is a lot of witty and funny parts in this book that made it really enjoyable. I loved that they were basically together before they were together. Using the app to make her fall for him without knowing it was also a great touch.
Friends to lovers is one of my most favorite tropes so my review may be slightly biased. It’s not a super intellectual read but was still nice.

🌀Synopsis
Lexi and Trevor have been best friends forever. They grew up together and now, as adults, they work together and live in a house together. Basically, they do everything together but they aren’t in a relationship.
In fact, Lexi is trying out a dating app and Trevor’s ex just came back to town. They are trying to pursue other people to forget about how much they actually love each other.
Finally, Trevor gives in and asks Lexi’s friend for help on how to tell her how he feels. They start chatting in the app but when Lexi goes to her sister’s wedding with Trevor she suddenly knows exactly what she wants.

This is a cute, sweet romcom of friends Lexi and Trevor who both have secret crushes on each other but too afraid to tell the other in case it ruins their friendship. This is perfect for teens because the content is not very mature. It did have some funny moments to it. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I felt it was very repetitive and it took all the way until the very end of the book for them to finally express their feelings for each other. Thank you netgalley for providing this audio arc in return for an honest review.

I knew the story was going to be good. But sometimes, an audiobook can completely ruin a book, even if you love the story. So going into a story I already knew I loved, I was a little hesitant. But this audiobook did NOT disappoint! The voices did a phenomenal job. And I love when there are two narrators. One for the girl and one for the boy. These two brought the story to life! Such a good job!

This was okay.
Friends to lovers is not one of my favourite tropes, and this one was filled with miscommunications.
Also something I don't fancy.
If you're okay with both of those things, the rest of the story is great.
The characters are entertaining and the plot is pretty stellar.
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for my DRC.

Oh my goodness what a pleasant surprise. Excellent romcom about two best friends who are scared to take it to the next level. Some laugh out loud moments. And I loved that this was just a fun steamy in a no need to describe the scenes kinda way!

I cannot wait for the next audio to come out. I am sold. Such likable characters in this small town I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This book fell short. It had great potential, but I found it disappointing.
Lexi and Trevor were friends. Each loved the other but couldn't admit it for fear of losing their friendship. I liked both characters. I did not like the way people kept butting in. Nor did I like the drawn out beginning, the same repetitive words over and over. We got it! they are in love but can’t/won’t admit it.

Audiobook review 🎧:
Who doesn’t like a friends to lovers trope? Friend hipped is a story about falling in love with your best friend but not knowing how to move out of the dreaded ‘friend zone’. Presented from the dual points of view of Lexi and Trevor we learn they have been friends forever but, now as adults, they begin to realize what their true feelings are toward each other.

This audiobook was enjoyable. The narration was good with the narrators trying to energetically bring the characters to life. Unfortunately the characters seemed to be surface level. I’m not sure the reader really has the opportunity to learn what is unique about them and their story. Similarly, the book seemed to come quickly to conclusion without the usual crisis the characters need to rebound from. All that being said, if you are looking for a quick read, give it a try.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this advance copy audiobook.

This had some cute moments, but the utter lack of communication between the two main characters frustrated me to no end. Even when the "confession" happened, they still didn't actually have a conversation with one another. And the ending felt unsatisfying because the resolution hinged on a simple decision that could have been made without the events of the book.

I think that my biggest issue with Friends to Lovers books is the fact that they are just full to the brim with non-communication issues. Like, it's full of I love this person who is my bestfriend, but can't tell them because it might ruin our relationship/they keep dating other people/they def don't like me the way I like them. When it's clearly obvious to everyone that they do in fact belong together, and people keep telling them that but they keep denying it.

It drives me mad.

There were things in this book that I enjoyed. The friendship between Lex and Trevor for one. I loved their interactions. I liked that it was told from dual perspectives because it made me feel a little more invested in the story... And I also really liked the fact that there was not a big fight/misunderstanding that drove them apart.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for my ALC

The boy and girl next door all grown up. Despite attempts to further their friendship into a relationship these two have been with each other through all the ups and downs in life. From childhood friends to close knit neighbors and coworkers these two have been best friends for so long the idea of more is too terrifying to move forward. That being said both of them have wanted more for so long.

The only part of this story that got a little frustrating is the amount they said things along the lines of "It's insane to think they could ever see me as more than a friend" or "I don't know why I think they could have feelings for me". It got a little frustrating because they didn't seem to be aware of anything. I think what added to it they were shocked that anyone would be aware that they might even have feelings for each other. Did that stop me from reading the book? No. Will I read another book by this author? Yes. Honestly it's frustrating when you feel like the main characters do not seem to be at all aware of what is going on.

Overall this is a cute story. If you are a friends to lovers kind of reader you will like it. Thank you NEtGalley for the opportunity to read this book!

This novel was so adorable and omg I was swooning all throughout the book! This was the audiobook and I love both narrators for the female and male MC. It’s such a lighthearted and fluffy read and I loved the banter between the side characters also! I totally recommend this to people who love RomComs and light and fluffy romances! I’m really impressed with this. For me 4.5 Stars!

I found this book delightful! Good natured, pure, inevitable love story. The narrators were great. I found myself really rooting for the characters and even though the plot was extremely predictable, I enjoyed it just the same!

I was so excited to see that Friendshipped was finally available on audio!! I've been hearing great things about this series and enjoyed this first book that features two high school best friends. Co-workers at their local newspaper, Trevor and Lexie have been too afraid to take a chance on ruining their friendship even though both have secretly been pining for the other. Full of small town charm and close friendships, this book is perfect for fans of authors like Cindy Steel, Kortney Keisel or Sarah Adams. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
