This is the sweetest clean best friend's to lovers book I have ever read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook.

Lexi and Trevor are best friends who are secretly in love with each other. Though I am fairly certain they are the only ones who don't know it. They've been best friends since childhood and twice poor Trevor tried to make the relationship happen. After the second time he finally realized it just wasn't meant to be so he just decided to be the best friend she ever had and love her quietly. Lexi doesn't understand why she blew the first time Trevor tried to kiss her then she figured after the second time he declared his feelings while she was newly in a relationship (he didn't know when he told her he had feelings) that they weren't meant to be.

I absolutely love how kind, supportive and understanding they each were with each other throughout their journey to each other.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book was adorable! I loved both Trevor and Lexie, they were great characters and I could not wait for them to realize they loved each other. This story was funny, cute, and was the perfect rom com.

Such a fun read! The characters were fun and the plot was believable. I loved the humor sprinkled throughout the story.
I thought the narration was fantastic! There was a male and female narrator- I LOVE when that happens in an audio book.
I have read several books by this author and all of them have been enjoyable.

Oh, sweet agony! Trevor and Lexi — I don’t think I’ve ever said “oh, come on, guys!” so much while reading a book! 😂 These two just did not want to get on the same page with each other and it made for the sweetest, most agonizing slow burn.

It was really enjoyable finally getting know these two as I’ve met them in Battleshipped and Townshipped. I loved their unique friendship — how they grew up together as neighbors and how now they’re neighbors once again as well as coworkers. I also liked the series of mishaps that continued to put these two in the friend zone. I seriously thought they were never going to get together. Between Trevor’s ex girlfriend showing up and Lexi’s online dating fails, it seemed like every obstacle was in their way. Thank goodness for friends — ahem, Laura.

My favorite moments throughout the book were when it was just Trevor and Lexi doing the things they’ve always done together, like stargazing. You could really see how perfect they were together during those moments. I also loved how much Trevor took care of Lexi especially during the storm. The chemistry was always there and it was so satisfying when these two finally threw caution to the wind and owned up to their feelings. They definitely make you work for that HEA! But as always with Savannah’s stories, this was lighthearted, super sweet, and swoony. I can always count on her for a feel good read! I did listen to the audiobook and the narrators were fantastic!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advanced audio copy. My thoughts are my own.

I love a friend-to-lover romance. This was super cute and Amy McFadden and Will Damron add the flavor
I think the added double POV makes this story more vibrant. I can get into the characters and the supporting characters

Although I don't usually love a story were they both pin after each other for the whole book - this book just did it correctly. I never got bored

I wanted to hear about the dates and how everyone was taking it.

A cute one for sure

This one bills itself as “a sweet romcom” which I typically love and I guess it technically lived up to that tag line but unfortunately fell flat for me.

As many of you know my absolute favorite trope is friends to lovers. I read the description of this one and was sold. It had a great set up with them both working at a newspaper in a small town and they had a fun group of friends.

The writing though fell flat for me. It was very conversational/casual tone like you were tell it to a friend and not painting a picture for the reader. Also this builds up to an absolute nothing of a kiss. I was super disappointed and I love a Hallmark romance but this didn’t give nearly enough for the build up. I just wanted more from this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for my chance to read this one early on audio!

Sometimes when you want to read a rom com type of book, you want it to be exactly what you're expecting. Comfortable, nice, expected. That's how I'd describe this book, and I mean it in the best way. Our heroine is in love with her best friend, her best friend is also in love with her. Situations have happened that have kept them from becoming something more.

There were quite a few of those 'oh come on' moments but there always are in a will-they-won't-they best-friends-to-lovers story where you are kind of beating your head against the wall wondering when they're going to get their heads back out in the sunlight and realize they belong together. That being said, I was totally in it for the long haul from the get go.

The characters were believable and well fleshed out, the setting was too. This is very much a by the book, book and exactly what I am looking for depending on the mood.

3 stars

A cute romance about childhood friends secretly in love with one another, but both are convinced it’s unrequited. It’s cute & sweet, it’s slow moving, and the setting is charming small town Ohio. But this is one of those romantic conflicts that could be solved instantly if the MCs would only talk to each other, & the emphasis on how 22-year-old Lexi is past her expiration date for marriage/babies was a bit much.

[What I liked:]

•Lexi & Trevor are a nice couple. I like how fun & spunky Lexi is, she has ambition to grow her career, & I enjoyed her interactions with her family. We don’t get to know Trevor as well beyond how he feels about Lexi, but he comes across as a good person & friend.

•Lexi’s family is funny! Her grandma is basically every Midwestern grandma, but she’s on a dating app in her 80’s! Her sister is a bit overbearing but still kind. Her parents seem fun to hang out with. Actually, I wish they had bigger roles in the story.

•This would be a great read if you’re looking for a safe, cute romance that doesn’t have too much stress or suspense, & won’t make you think about tragic or traumatic backstories.

[What I didn’t like as much:]

•Several of the reasons Lexi doesn’t like her dates are pretty ridiculous. She dislikes one who’s a physical therapist because he tells her fun facts about human anatomy/muscles. She dislikes another guy because he’s a funeral director—just because of his job. She dislikes another because he has a pet parrot. Granted, there were other reasons to dislike these guys that made more sense, but making such a big deal out of the guys’ jobs & pets made her seem shallow & petty.

•Lexi & Trevor could’ve been together *on page one* if they *actually talked to each other*! Which makes for a slow moving book. It would’ve given the relationship conflict more depth to have some other form of tension or barrier keeping them apart, or for there to be something more for them to work through (either individually or as a couple).

•Lexi is 22. 22! And all throughout the book, both she & everyone around her makes comments about how old she’s getting, how she’s running out of time to get hitched & pop out babies, etc. 22! Ugh.

•A lot of semi-important events that I expected to be actual scenes in the book turned out to be just summarized by characters discussing them after the fact. Like it made sense for Lexi to describe her dates with other guys & complain about them to Trevor instead of having all of them be full scenes, but several of Lexi & Trevor’s interactions that had been built up to & could have been important scenes were just skipped over in summary. (Like why didn’t we get to see their non-date at the Italian restaurant?) This made the pace of the narrative feel choppy at times.

CW: infidelity (not the MCs), fat phobia/diet culture

Ah Ohio. Love in Ohio. As an Ohioan, I found the many quirks of Ohio that were included (like the way Ohio finds it necessary to take the spelling of other towns around the world and then just pronouncing them differently) to be absolutely adorable and hilarious.

This is such a cute story. Couple besties have feelings for each other but are afraid to act on them due to unfortunate circumstances the previous times they’ve tried to cross that line. While this is definitely a miscommunication trope (which I hate), this book is so hilarious that I can look past it.

These two are everything. Separate, together, doesn’t matter. They are literally bestie goals. I love them so much. They live “together”, work “together” and basically spend all free moments together. It’s perfection in a friendship - no wonder they were afraid to pursue more!

I will say that it seemed to take a really long time to come to the end. It’s not a super long book, but it didn’t feel like it was taking forever especially with the predictable course it was taking.

Thanks to NetGalley for the audio copy! The dual narrators for the dual POV was absolute perfection!

Anyway, this book just gave me warm fuzzies and made me laugh. I love it.

Friendshipped by Savannah Scott

Sometimes you don't realize that you need a certain type of book. Well I needed this book. I read a lot of books and lately it seems like everything has been so dark and the romance novels that I have read where ok but it was missing something for me. With this rom com it just made me laugh out loud several times while reading it and it just added more to the enjoyment of the story. Maybe it is because I can totally relate to Lexi's online dating situation through the dating app. Lexi who is a writer for the local newspaper she writes the obituaries for the paper. Trevor is Lexi's best friend they have been this way since they where kids. Lexi and Trevor almost share a kiss in high school but the stars did not align so the kiss never happened. Now adult Lexi and Trevor still pine for each other but neither one tells the other plus they don't want to ruin there friendship.

Lexi is having such a hard time the dates she goes on are just horrible the men seem to be a bit creepy. Every time her best friend Trevor is there to listen to all the details of her online dating mishaps. Trevor is pining hard for Lexi but is afraid to come out directly and tell her. There is so much to the story the antics with Lexi's friends convincing her to go on the dates. I also like Lexi's grandma she was a hoot.

This is a laugh out loud rom com that should be turned into a movie. I was so entertained by the banter between Lexi and Trevor as well as Lexi and her family as well as her friends. Will Lexi and Trevor move from the friend zone to dating well you need to read this book to find out.

Amy McFadden and Will Damron narrated this rom com and they where perfect for the job. I was entertained by the story and narration. This is a five star read for me. If you like humor that actually makes you laugh out loud in your romances then this book is for you. I highly recommend this romance novel. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author and more from this series. I cannot wait for book 2.

I absolutely loved ‘Friendshipped’ by Savannah Scott so much! I could not put it down. Funny, sweet, emotional, off-the-charts chemistry between the two protagonists—I fell hard for Lexi and Trevor and their friendship. The slow burn of them drove me crazy in the best way, and I fully enjoyed the heaps of pining along the way. They also had such great mutual friends, too, and each character was well developed. Lexi’s hilarious string of bad dates may have been my favorite thing; I laughed out loud so many times. And the audio? The narration was *perfect* and completely embodied Lexi, Trevor, and the story in its entirety. Highly recommended!

SO CUTE!!!

I will always always always read a friends-to-lovers book. Lexi and Trevor are childhood best friends who went to different colleges, dated different people, and eventually moved back to their small town where they live in a duplex. They've both secretly been in love with each other for years, but when Lexi decides to join a dating app, Trevor decides he doesn't want her to end up with anyone else. It was a super cute and wholesome romance and ended up being one of my favorites this year.

Very cute, light hearted, friends to lovers story. Easy listen. Perfect for those that like the slow burn romance. No spice. Would be cute for YA as well.

Lexie is a recent college grad writing obits for her hometown paper. Trevor is her childhood crush who writes food reviews for the same paper. He is literally the boy next door as she is leasing the other half of his parents' duplex, and they spend 95% of the book pining for each other without doing anything about it.

Most of my issues with this book stem from the fact that it read like older YA/new adult, but it wasn't marketed as such. The main character makes multiple references about getting older and running out of options... She is TWENTY-TWO. There is also an incidence of throwing a bowl of cabbage soup out of a moving car window, a scene where an adult female character hides in the bathroom out of mortification of a male coworker hearing about her thongs, and none of the characters seem to have any hobbies or career ambitions outside of spending 99% of their time discussing dating. The narrators of the audiobook were alright, but I just found the heroine annoying.

This book just reads very young, and it was not for me.

Friendshipped was such a good surprise for me. I went into this thinking it was the overused cliche of one best friend is in love with the other and it takes the whole story for the other friend to realize they are in love too. That’s not what Friendshipped is. Right from the start we learn that both of our best friends, Trevor and Lexi are in love with each other, but they both do not think the other is in love.

This book will have you screaming at the pages from chapter one that these two just need to be together. Both of them think they are in the friend zone by the other. This was so refreshing from the usual take on this and it was done so well.

Trevor and Lexi are both such great characters that you will wish are real so you can be friends with them. They are always there for each other and I just could not wait to for them to realize they both want to exit the friend zone.

This is up there for one of my favorite romantic comedy books. I can’t recommend it enough.

***Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
While I loved the characters in this friends-to-lovers romance, I felt that there was too much time pining and not enough steamy scenes. I felt like this dragged a little.

Really love the cover design. It’s what drew me to the book.

This is a cutesy somewhat unrealistic romcom. It’s a clean read. These two had a really strong start but the slower pacing of the story made the butterflies vanish around the 60/70ish%. These two give a wholesome vibe, though I wasn’t a fan of the way the MMC treated his ex with internal dialogue.

Slow burn
Friends to lovers
Clean read
Bad online dates

Listened to this via audiobook. The two of them gave the words a wholesome vibe without being corny. They did a great job.
