Everything I expected from an ocean faring pirate/siren tale. It pulled me from the beginning and remained interesting. Now there were a few points that I almost stopped reading completely. However, I'm glad I finished the story.
While I respect the author and what they did with the story insta- love is not my favorite trope. It's one that usually makes me dnf a book. But this has pirates, bloodthirsty sirens and even some Greek gods/demigods thrown in making it an interesting read.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishing company for an eARC of the title.

Quick paced and writing as smooth as a sirens song, this book is a must read for those who love adventure, a powerful heroine, and beautifully woven Greek lore.

this was such a great adventure novel, it was what I was hoping for from a pirate/siren novel. I always enjoy a good pirate sea story, and this was so well done. I enjoyed getting to know the characters within and getting to know the world itself. I was invested in what was going on and was hooked from the beginning. Dana Claire has a great writing style and I can't wait for more from them.

"Lou threw the blanket on the ground and jumped from her chair. Her chest bobbed with rasping, frantic breaths. She marched up to me, toe to boot. Though she stood a head shorter, her wrath filled the whole room. “I almost didn’t save you.”

War of the Sea by Dana Claire is a fascinating fantasy romance set on the high seas. It has a similar feel to Pirates of the Caribbean but draws from Greek Mythology to put together an intriguing plot that will keep you guessing till the end.

The book’s main characters, Captain Elouise “Lou” Farrington and Captain Rylander Bordeaux are enemies who are forced to work together to bring down the siren queen. This naturally leads to a lot of close proximity and bickering the rackets up the chemistry between them. As the story progresses, they find themselves unable to resist each other, leading to some moments of spice without being overly graphic.

The plot is truly intriguing and I loved the author’s use of Greek Gods and mythology throughout the story. The action sequences are also exceptionally well written, often leaving you on the edge of your seat as the story unfolds. It makes for a fun read that will keep you guessing all the way to its conclusion.

I loved a lot of the dialogue between the characters, especially Lou and Rylander. They have many verbal sparring matches that are truly fun to read. However, there were a few supporting characters whose reactions and dialogue I felt distracted from the emotion of the scene. These moments are few, but they tend to occur during pivotal plot points.

Overall I very much enjoyed this book. If you loved Pirates of the Caribbean this would be a fun read for you. I would give it a solid 4 out 5 and would definitely read any sequels the author may write in the future.
