Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom is a well written and heart warming book.

Patty Sullivan shows us the side of Betty we could only imagine and how not only was she a good friend to the Sullivan family and showcases some of their most well loved and precious memories.

I truly enjoyed reading those memories and pearls of wisdom that resonates with many of us.

At times I laughed and times I had tears in my eyes.

Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom is a book I will remember fondly for a long time to come.

Patty Sullivan is the wife of Tom Sullivan, a popular singer/song writer in the 1970's. He also was a correspondent on Good Morning America for a while. Tom Sullivan is blind, and he first met Betty White and her husband with all three were working in Eastern vacation towns. It was the beginning of Tom's career and just before he met his wife. The two couples became good friends, and after Alan died, Tom's family sort became Betty's adopted family, spending major holidays together. They all shared a love for animals, especially Tom's seeing eye dogs. Over the years Patty witnessed Betty's dedication to her craft, but even more so to her charities, mostly animal centered. In this tribute book, the author details what she calls the life lessons Betty's life teaches us, lessons that go way beyond the perfect comedic timing she possessed. This was a loving, gentle read and I would recommend it to anyone who was a Betty White fan or who is an animal lover. I received a copy from Net Galley. All opinions are mine.

There is nothing better then to love and be loved in return. What a wonderful tribute to the amazing woman Betty White, as this book takes you on a journey that she wouldn’t have been able to herself. It was how she made others feel with her acts of kindness, interest, and light that made this book truly rare and a must read for fans of this golden girl. Friends that are family are the best people to tell a story about someone because they choose to be there day in and day out under no blood obligation, but simply because of the person they are. Patty Sullivan shares the impact Betty had and continues to have on the Sullivan family, as well as the many others whom her journey intertwined. Thanks Patty for letting us into your world with Betty. It sounded truly magical.

If you love Betty White, like I do, this is a rare treat of an inside look on her life and “pearls of wisdom” that can be taken and tucked away to use in your own life.

Patty’s heartwarming book provides so many great insights into this icon, like her love of animals and the history of why.

Such a treasure and glimpse into her personal life, her sage advice, and her way of finding good in everything. It's a perfect book to read over a warm cup of coffee on a quiet weekend.

You will find inspiration and and close the book feeling like you just got a warm hug from a good friend.

I would hands down recommend this book.

The Sullivan were Betty’s adopted family and dearest friends for over 50 years, and they surely knew her better than anybody else, except perhaps Betty’s long-deceased husband, Allen. The author shares some wonderful insights into Betty’s passions, in particular her deep commitment to and involvement with many animal conservation organizations. They shared many dinners, holidays and trips with Betty, and we come to know that her cheerful, saucy public facade was really who she was.

The author(s) of this book shared significant moments they spent with Betty White. She was obviously an important part of their lives and their families. The book is made up of short essays that describe specific memories the author and her husband have of time spent with their special friend Betty White. The essays provide insights into her personality and life. Each essay ends with pertinent quotes. At times, the book seemed to be more about the authors than about Betty. They spend a lot of time getting into specific details about places and events in which they participated. I was hoping for more of a biographical sketch with pieces of wisdom presented by Betty, with less focus on the authors and their celebrity lifestyles and fame.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Oh my goodness…I absolutely loved this book and kept wanting more stories, more pearls, more laughs! I was blown away by Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom written by her dear close friend Patty Sullivan. What a wonderful way to memorialize and honor such a wise woman with so many pearls to share. I felt like I was part of this close knit group, listening in to the deep meaningful conversations. I actually heard Betty’s voice when there were direct quotes from her. This is such a wonderful, “feel good” book…a fabulous tribute to an iconic woman! Way to go, Patty! I loved every second of this book! You really captured Betty’s essence. And while you and your family surely miss your pearls…it sounds as if you have so many wonderful memories to keep you warm 💕🥰

This is the first book I’ve read about Betty White. It threw me off at first because this is a story told by Betty’s friend who happens to be one of her close friends. The author pretty much tells how they first met and how close they’ve gotten.
Pretty much tells why she chose to act in order to help others she felt so strongly about especially animals. Basically this is a story of how the author say Betty as a person not a star, which is a very humbling thing to do. Just pick up this book and learn about Betty White without all the trimmings and see her for who she truly is!

This book is a gift - a gift of love, compassion, acceptance and selflessness. Patty Sullivan shares with us her very personal observations of not just the celebrity Betty White, but the private Betty White who was widowed way too soon from the love of her life, and then went on to sustain a long career as not only an entertainer, but as a philanthropist for important animal causes. In these pages we see Betty White in private moments, in her private homes, exerting independence and lovingly influencing her heart-adopted children and grandchildren and their mutual friends. It is a very personal memory, shared lovingly and respectfully. At the end of the book, I found a renewed respect and appreciation for what Betty White brought to the world; but I ended the last page thinking about what a gracious and remarkable person Patty Sullivan must be to love not only Betty White but her family and friends we met in this book so well. The love, compassion, acceptance and selflessness I mentioned earlier may have been representative of Betty White, but it is personified in Patty Sullivan.

BETTY WHITE'S PEARLS OF WISDOM had me missing this great lady more than ever. Cliché I know, but I laughed and cried from cover to cover. In times as bad as we've had these past few years, Betty White kept us sane and entertained through it all. Having her words in one book gives me a reason to smile.

A touching and moving account of the time spent and lessons learned at the hands of the great Betty White, Patty Sullivan’s writing is rooted in a familial connection of the best kind, that of those who have chosen to be family. Sullivan writes of the close bonds she and husband Tom (who Betty played matchmaker for), along with their two children, had with Betty from their first meeting in 1968 until Betty’s death in 2021.

Sullivan breathes life into her personal remembrances, skillfully capturing Betty’s spirit, gentle nature, zest for life, wit, intelligence, and commitment to helping others, particularly in the animal world. The book is divided into Pearls or chapters, each focusing on a lesson told largely through personal stories with real examples of White’s philanthropy and caring nature instilled in those to whom she was closest. Throughout we are given a heightened awareness of how inspiring Betty’s life, living legacy, and legacy continue to be with a personal touch that could only be achieved by someone who knew Betty well.

A gentle, heartfelt remembrance of Patty Sullivan’s friend, second mom, mentor, and tv icon, this is a biography that fans of Betty White will be sure to enjoy.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No one would argue that Betty White was an American treasure and lived an extraordinary life. She is an icon and is missed.

Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom offers the reader a look into Betty's life via a lifelong friend. The reader is offered remembrances of Betty and "pearls of wisdom" that the author received from time spent with Betty.

As long as the reader keeps in mind that this is not a "tell all" nor is it a biography of Betty's life they will find it to be an enjoyable read if they are a fan of Betty. The book, instead of describing Betty and her life, is more based on how Betty impacted the life of her friend. This gives an enjoyable glimpse into Betty's life and allows the reader to remind themselves how special Betty was.

I just loved Betty White! I grew up adoring her on Golden Girls and as I grew older she became someone who I admired for her ability to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute. She was so funny. Just one look could make you laugh. I was so hoping she would have made it to her amazing 100th birthday bash but she had other plans. I wish this book was more on her life as opposed to her life through someone else. But, there are plenty of pieces of wisdom dropped in this book that truly inspire. Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this little gem.
