Starring Miss Juliet Windermere and Lord Rory Macbeth, the Viscount Kilmuir

Tropes: Long Time Acquaintances, Set in Scotland , Unrequited Love (Heroine), Scottish Hero, Strike a Bargain-ish

Awww what an absolutely delightful story. I think I could have lived in Juliet and Rory’s bubble and be forever happy. From the time they were both on the page together, all the way to the epilogue, their story gave me the feels and ugly cry has been achieved.

I love that Rory and Juliet have been acquainted with each other for years. It always makes me smile when the main characters start to feel the first stirs of awareness… they are so surprised (although one of them has held a torch for the other for quite some time). And the universe is like, it’s always been simmering, you cray kids!! Then their attraction gains momentum and we are all left gasping and fanning ourselves as we watch their passion unfold…. coz Rory and Juliet are hawt, y’all!! To put it in Sofie Darling’s words, “… she were somehow lodestone to his magnet.” These two were meant to be together. Indeed!

It’s always wonderful being in Sofie Darling’s world and getting to know her characters. Her books are passion with a whole lot of story… the perfect balance. And I keep coming back for more!! That’s why she’s a keeper shelf author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.

My Star Rating: 5 stars
Ugly cried AF. Major book hangover. Characters and storyline were freaken amazeballs. Made me wanna hug the author for writing a book that gave me all the feels!! Will definitely be reading this story over and over and over again!!

Entertaining Historical Romance

You should never tell a woman she reminded you of someone else, especially if she was in love with you, but how was he to know? Rory committed the unforgiveable sin of telling Juliet she reminded him of the woman with whom he was enamored. Except, it turned out, he was not enchanted with the woman, after all. It was Juliet who held his heart. However, after such a blunder, could he succeed in convincing her that she held his heart? Juliet promised to write him a poem for the other woman. It was a tangle, indeed. This is a delightful story, infused with romance, wit, and charm. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who appreciate lighthearted, historical romance.

The Windermere family have a way of rooting in your heart. I was probably most intrigued for Juliet’s story. Being the Windermere cousin, the notable Windermere outrageousness is somewhat quieter in her. She is a woman of cool composure with a poet’s heart. True to the Windermere name though she is led by desire, the desire to create and the desire to love and be loved. Having been half in love with Kilmuir for more than a decade, when he finally, truly, sees her, it throws her off her game. Watching her come to grips with his growing affection is incredibly entertaining. It wouldn’t be a true Windermere story without a little scandalous behaviour and shocking confessions. Rory proved to be the sweetest of heroes, utterly charming and loveable. This entire story was delightful and lighthearted. I loved it!

This book is great. It moves very fast and is entertaining.
In Miss Windermere Woos a Highlander by Sofie Darling is a part of the wWindermere in Love series. I have not read the others but now will. It was not as if Juliet had not known Rory forever. He was a school chum of her cousin, Archie, and had been in and out of the family for at least ten years. She had had a crush on him for that entire time. But, now she was grown and it was more than a crush. She was aware of this man more than she ever had been before. He wanted to marry the daughter of their hosts. He had proposed to her with a poem and once Juliet heard the poem he had written she understood why she refused him. But, she could help. Since she didn’t plan ever to marry, the least she could do is help someone else to their happily-ever-after. She was here for research but she could fit it in. She, herself, was writing an epic poem about Scottish heroine, Scathach. He offered to show her some places that might set the mood. What came next was inevitable.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this story; this is my freely given opinion.

I really enjoyed the story of Rory MacBeth, the Viscount Kilmuir who has been a best friend of Archer for years, and Miss Juliet Windemere, the poetess cousin who is used to making herself not be seen.

Juliet has a rather inconvenient problem in that she has been infatuated with Rory for years. However, she thinks he is still in love with another, a woman who rejected his proposal previously, and he doesn't see her as anything more than his friend's cousin, and friend. His lack of notice of Juliet herself is hammered home when he makes a declaration that she reminds him of his lady love from home.

Thus Juliet tries to keep out of his attention and works hard to hide her inconvenient infatuation. She and Delilah end up travelling to Scotland to visit with friends, which also happens to be the family of Rory's prior object of his affections. Juliet is looking for inspiration for an epic poem about a Scottish heroine, and Delilah decides that she must put on a Shakespearean play. Rory's estate borders the estate they are staying at and as they spend time together, Rory realizes there is much more to Juliet than he had noticed before and he is deeply intrigued by her and her writing. Juliet thinks he is still in love with the other lady and decides that she would help him woo her, thinking this will help end her infatuation with Rory. What she does not realize is that he is becoming infatuated with her, and he uses her plan as a ruse to get closer to her, and they are friends who become lovers.

I liked the vulnerability and sweetness of both these characters. Rory is sweet and a bit awkward at times such as his own horrible poetry (oh that proposal!!! Oh... the horror!), but endearing in how he admires Juliet's ability to write. I love the bit about Hamish and how Rory sings to him. His wooing of Juliet is terribly ass-backwards, with the friends to lover, and quite steamy sex, with her thinking she is still helping him eventually win the heart of another, while he is trying to figure out out to tell her that it really is her that he is interested in. Awkward, but sweet in a way.

This story moved really quickly, aside from the aforementioned ten years. Juliet was a good character: very independent and self-possessed. She was determined never to marry and had the financial means to do just that. Rory, Lord Kilmuir, was a big, brawny Scot with flaming read hair and a close cropped beard. He would turn any maiden’s head. He confounded himself by admitting he had never noticed how absolutely beautiful Miss Juliet Windermere was. Now he saw her and could not restrain himself. He was a font of useful knowledge, which also attracted Juliet. There was not a whole lot of plot involved, mostly heat. It was a fun read, though. Fits with the rest of the series.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

Miss Juliet Windermere has always been drawn to the handsome Viscount Kilmuir. Even since Archie brought Rory home from school, Juliet has known she had feelings for the Scot, but has never acted on them. And just when she thinks she might be ready to show herself to him, he tells her how alike she is with the woman who refused his proposal. So now, Juliet is ready to forget all about Rory, and her feelings.

I really liked this book. After seeing the couple in the previous books, with Rory seemingly obvious to Juliet's feelings, it was lovely to see how he saw her in a new light while together in Scotland. Juliet loves poetry, and is quite the poet herself. When Rory comes across her writing, and reads some of her work, he's awed and starts to see a new Juliet he never expected. Rory had always thought that Juliet hated him, and learning more about the true Juliet makes him fall, and fall hard. It was great to see the hero fall first, and though the way he went about wooing Juliet might not have been great, it was well worth it in the end. Now, I can't wait for book 4, and hope we see more of our couples when Delilah and Ravensworth have their time.

This is book 3 in the WIndermeres in Love series but can be read as a standalone. This book is about Miss Juliet Windermere and Lord Rory Macbeth, Viscount Kilmuir. Juliet has had a crush on Rory for a long time...she reminds him of someone he dreams about...thats not a good start. Rory finally starts looking at what is actually in front of him but is it too late, can he make Juliet want him. This is another good book in the Windermere series. I love the banter between these two and the secondary characters.

This is the third installment of the series Windermeres in Love. I have enjoyed the previous books thus far, and this one also did not disappoint. Juliet has been living with her Windermere cousins since her parents passed away in a tragic carriage accident. She likes to keep to herself, and prefers not to be the center of attention. She has secretly admired Rory from afar, but Rory only sees her as his best friend's cousin. He even went as far as to compare her to a sweetheart back home in Scotland and told her she looks like her. When she travels with her cousin Delilah to Scotland, she sees Rory again. She helps him in his efforts of wooing his love, and in the process Rory begins to see Juliet in a new light and he sees clearly now what was right in front of them all along. The tension and chemistry between these two was strong and I loved seeing the romance blossom between them. Their interactions and witty banter were also a treat to read. Love the series and this is a great addition!

Another wonderful addition to those Wild and somewhat unconventional Windermeres. This is Juliet’s story, as she travels to the Scottish Highlands and comes face to face with the Scottish Viscount she has long had an infatuation for. Only this time he really sees her for the first time wondering how he could have missed how beautiful and talented she is. Their romance takes off like skyrocketing fireworks! The dialogue is witty and charming, the banter, sharp and clever. A most enjoyable read!

Juliet is one of the quieter, maybe less wild Windemeres. She is a talented poet. She came to live with her cousins when her parents died in a carriage accident. Lord Rory MacBeth, Viscount Kilmuir, has been a family friend since they were children. Juliet has had a crush on Rory for as long as she can remember, but he believed himself in love with another. When they find themselves at the same house party, things have changed. Rory is now out to convince Juliet that she is the one for him. This a cute story full of humor and fun. Juliet and Rory are good together. They are both lovers of poetry. He did hurt Juliet once before (he doesn’t know what he did), but they both seem to be on the same page now. A fast-paced, delightful story with loveable characters. Good read!

4 1/2*Stars*
Juliet Windermere has been besotted with Lord Rory Macbeth, Viscount Kilmuir, for many years. He's never really noticed her until his neighbor's supper party in Scotland. All it takes is one moment for him to see her and know that his heart will never be the same. Juliet makes a decision to seduce Rory. If this is her only chance to be with him she will take it. Only he must find a way to convince this independent lady she is all he wants. A courtship with Shakespeare and the magic of Scotland. A very easy read.

While the story seemed to move very fast, I was able follow closely along with the story. The number of characters were quite entertaining. I loved the part where everyone had to participate in the play. I thought Delian ran everyone as she was like a general. The cute lot romance was charming and very sweet.

Trying as hard as she can to ignore her long-standing attraction to her cousin’s friend Rory proves especially difficult for Juliet when they end up crossing paths in Scotland. Their shared love of poetry gives Rory a chance to be in Juliet’s company as often as possible. Juliet thinks she’s helping him woo a neighbor, but it definitely isn’t the neighbor he wants to woo.
This is an entertaining, witty romance I couldn’t put down. It was fun to puzzle out how they were going to navigate through all the bumbling & misunderstandings.
I really like how each member of this unconventional family has such a different story in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read & review an advance copy of the book.

Two years ago whilst in Italy Miss Juliet Windermere thought the man of her dreams was going to confess his love for her but she gets a declaration that she looks like the woman of his dreams…who is currently a thousand miles away—in Scotland. Two years later Juliet & her cousin Delilah are staying with friends in Scotland, where Lord Rory Macbeth, Viscount Kilmuir, has no thoughts of wooing the girl next door. But Juliet doesn’t know that. Rory’s sure she’s never liked him, but when the talented poet says she’ll help him win his true love, he begins to see a whole new side to her.
The third book in this delightful series & my favourite so far, a well written lovely romance. I'm not sure who wooed who but the chemistry between Rory & Juliet just got hotter & hotter. I loved the verbal banter between them & how his turn of phrase was often so funny. A quick read which I read in a sitting & thoroughly enjoyed their journey to a HEA
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Another exciting Windermere family romp from Italy to the Highlands. Juliet has loved Rory from afar for years but he is oblivious to her true feelings. When he finally realizes he is beginning to care for her, Juliet is already trying to help him win another woman. A few misunderstandings and some sexy fun lead the way to a declaration of love.
Each story in this saga gets better as each family member is unique and true to themselves.

I received an ARC but the honest opinion is my own.

This highly entertaining and witty romance had me hooting with laughter as the pragmatic Lord Rory Macbeth baffles his way through the complex web of feelings that have been aroused by Miss Juliet Windermere. Rory thought he was in love with Juliet's cousin, but after she rejects him, he discovers that the woman who really turns his life upside down is Juliet. He has unfortunately offended her, but for the life of him cannot work out what he has done to cause a grievance. With a house party underway and her cousin's determination to put on a Shakespeare play, the scene is set for every kind of disaster. Fortunately, both Rory and Juliet finally meet halfway and recognize the gift they have been given. I received a copy of this most enjoyable novel as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I dont understand the title... it wasn't her that was doing the wooing. It should have been the highlander woos Miss Windermere. Once he realize she is for him, he pours it in on. I enjoyed the background story. I also enjoyed the honesty of their conversation, although they both hide their true feelings at first.
This is a VERY steamy book and you can skip over those parts without missing much.

I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

I have really been enjoying this series from Sofie Darling and this latest installment is another enjoyable read. FMC Juliet is the quietest of the Windermere clan, but the quiet hides her poet's soul and a quick and clever wit. MMC Rory is just such a great character. I have never used the term "book boyfriend" before but I do think Rory might be mine. This is a low angst, quick read. No big villain or evil, just two people sorting through their feelings about each other. Their banter is amusing and the side characters just as entertaining as the main ones. I can't wait to read Delilah and Ravernworth's story. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5.

Thank you to Dragonblade and NetGalley for an ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

Let the wooing games begin. I loved this fun, flirty and sexy story of Rory and Juliet dancing around each other. Their playfulness was so delightful. And who does not love a Scot? They made such a cute couple. You have it all thrown in – Shakespeare, Byronesque poets, and Cyrano. A very cute story.
