I received this advance reader copy via Netgalley and Boldwood Books, in return for an honest review. This is the second book in this series and easily read as a stand-alone. I really like this series and recommend it. Dan Armstrong, recently retired and divorced Metropolitan Police DCI, is now retired and living in Italy. After the first book and Dan’s permanent relocation to the area, he’s now good friends with the local police chief who uses him as both a sounding board and when suspects speak English as their primary language. This time, a disliked and promiscuous Australian millionaire is found dead on his golf course. Was it his young 2nd wife, his two adult children, one of the women with whom he had liaisons, or a disgruntled local? So many suspects. Trust Dan, Virgilio and Dan’s rambunctious dog, Oliver, solve the mystery? Of course!

What an awesome start to a new cozy mystery series.
The characters are so relatable and enjoyable, the plot flowed smoothly from scene to scene, and there was some nice twists and turns that kept it very interesting. Really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Really enjoyed the first book and this one was just as good with Dan and his sidekick Oscar! Loved the setting of Italy too! A really easy cosy mystery to read.

One Liner: Entertaining and fun

Rex Hunter, a millionaire, is found dead on his golf links. The sight of his bashed head is enough to show that it’s murder. But who wants to kill the owner of a prestigious golf and country club in Chianti?
Turns out that Hunter had a thing for women. He was a bully, a womanizer, and a heartless man disliked and loathed by many. With the number of suspects increasing every hour, the case doesn’t look simple anymore.
Being retired doesn’t mean Dan can spend the rest of his life away from crime, right? Dan agrees to help the local chief and his friend Virgilio catch the killer. Can Dan and Oliver (black Labrador) solve the case in time? Will there be more deaths to deal with?
The story comes from Dam Armstrong’s first-person POV.

My Thoughts:
Dan Armstrong and Oliver are back in action in the second book of the series. This reads very well as a standalone despite the continuing personal track from book one. There’s enough information for the readers to get the gist.
My issue with long chapters continues in this one too. Please, once again, divide the chapters into smaller ones. It shouldn't take so much time to read a 250-page book (for a cozy mystery). Though the plot is different, I couldn’t help but find parallels in both books.
The central plot is engaging with an array of suspects and new developments. The numerous characters are easy to track and remember. With most of them hating the dead man, it’s interesting to figure out the killer. I admit only one of my guesses is right. The reveal made sense and fit with the theme, so no complaints.
Oliver is an adorable buddy and seems to be a ladies’ man. ;) I also like that Oliver isn’t just a pet but has an important role in the book.
There will be new developments in Dan’s life next, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. I like the way the track is progressing. It feels natural.

To summarize, Murder in Chianti is an entertaining cozy mystery (albeit a slower one) and a solid continuation of the series. Of course, I’m hoping for a fresh theme in the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, following along with Dan and is best friend Oscar (his dog) into the murders happening in the his new neighborhood in Tuscany.

Dan a retired policeman from the UK is helping investigations along with the local "carabinieri" to find the killer of the very disliked owner of the local Golf Club. Follow along with the twists and turns until the killer is revealed.

Not my first time reader by this author and I have enjoyed another great read by T A Williams and looking forward to reading more.

A well-paced muscly cosy crime, with a cool, logical detective and a whole list of possible suspects. Well written and the carrot of 'who dunnit' very well dangled. The backdrop of Italy was gorgeous and I loved Oscar he dog....

Retired DCI Dan Armstrong has settled into live in Italy, but while you can take the detective out of the field, you can’t take the field out of the detective. When a wealthy man is murdered on the golf course, Dan and Oscar start to work on the whodunit.

While Dan thought this would be an easy one to solve, he’s finding it’s full of Mulligans, AKA suspects. With so many people having hated the man, it’s more a question of who didn’t want him out of their life? Can Dan and Oscar help Commissario Pisano solve the case, or will they suffer a major handicap?

The second entry in this series is just as sharp and smart as the first. Well written and full of red herrings, you find yourself grasping for whodunit right along with Dan and Oscar. An excellent series set in a fabulous location that takes you away for awhile.

This mystery is written by a talented author who keeps the reader guessing. Red herrings…secrets…likable characters and a great setting. Spend an afternoon with this quick fun read and get lost for awhile… who knows what will happen next? This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks also to the publisher and the author. I liked this book. I enjoyed my time spent in getting to know these characters who come alive on the pages.

Chianti Calamities…
The author veers from his traditional romcoms and romance set in blissful locations to bring the reader another thoroughly entertaining and engaging cosy mystery set in an equally blissful and delicious location. The second of the Armstrong and Oscar mysteries finds Dan now settled permanently in Tuscany with Oscar at his side. The waters are never completely settled when Dan is around so, needless to say, murder is in the making. Millionaire Rex Hunter is found dead on the golf course of his sprawling Chianti country club estate, his head bashed in with a golf club. Suspects are numerous and motives even more so. Bodies soon begin to pile and Dan pairs up with the enigmatic Commissario Virgilio Pisano as the investigation begins. With a wonderful sense of place, a cast of well crafted and credible characters - not least the delightful Oscar- and an intriguing mystery at heart this is a fabulous second entry in this new series and the next is already greatly anticipated.
