ARC provided by NetGalley

This one was a lot of fun! Action packed and full of mystery. Definitely something to check out for graphic novel lovers.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read an advanced copy of this book! Even though I'm not a huge fan of gore, I still really enjoyed reading this graphic novel. I loved that there was LGBTQIA+ representation in this novel, as well as a pronoun guide in the very beginning. The main character, Jenny, was definitely my favorite part of this novel, I can't wait to see where her story goes. The art style was also very beautiful to me, it really juxtaposed some of the extreme violence that was depicted. I will be reading future volumes of this story, as well as purchasing a physical copy of this novel.

There are a couple of things that would have prevented me to request to read this arc, had i know it before hand, not because it was lgbt themed but because is woke, and characters when introducing themselves they say what pronouns you should use with them… well keep that in mind if you chose to read this comic book, other thing is the violence, this is violence in same level of battle royal the movie, and I wasn't able to watch all parts, with a mix of squid game…
the good part is that I did like the art.

I am sorry but I wasn't the intended public to this ARC

Thank you NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios, for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This one was a flabbergasting mix of a horror movie turned even worse and a hunger games vibe. Neither bad things! There were a few small technical issues but I think even with, the story was fun and gore-y. Plus I really liked the art style!

Though this is very gory, I had a very good time reading it and got through it in one sitting. It's a twist of the Hunger Games/Battle Royale story and doesn't offer too much else on top of that, but as pure entertainment it goes a long way.

What I liked about this comic was that it was a lot of fun! The art style was classic. There was so much action and yes it was a lot of gore/violence. The artist's style was classic, colorful and exciting.

But while it was a fun and exciting story, I felt it was too fast paced for me and didn't have nearly enough exposition as I needed to really understand each of the character's backstories. I felt the characters deaths and survivals were not as striking as they could have been if they I was offered more time to really connect with them.
I also didn't love the reused tropes: stranded on an island, corrupt gameshow host, and how much it really felt like it was Lost x The Hunger Games.

ARC Copy...O_O Ok that was violent and alot of blood! Mixed on how to review this as result (I'm really terrified of gore) plus just how close the narrative was to other death match narratives like Hunger Games, Battle Royal and Madworld. Although it was a nice touch of pace to include "work together" option and "something is up" behind the scenes POV too.

You cannot judge a book by its' cover. I selected this book because the cover illustration made we think that the book with have an environmental/ sustainability angle, but that was not the case. In this graphic novel, a group of criminals is sent to a deserted island to make their way through a labyrinth to win a prize. The graphics in this book were really well done and I like that one of the main characters is a strong female. I generally do not read books with a lot of violence but I suppose that I could recommend this book to the intended population.

Thank you to NetGalley and Mad Cave Studies for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
