This was such a fun volume 3! I really liked that we got to see more of the Mousetress's backstory and Katie finally gets to start sidekick training! I also really love how these books portray friendship. It's nice to have a series that shows kids how to communicate with their friends. And I really loved that Katie's mom is going back to school! That was one of my favorite things in this volume. Overall, this was a great volume and I can't wait for more of the series to come out!

I received an electronic ARC from Random House Children's Publishing through NetGalley.
Katie is back for more training and further adventures with her neighbor, the Mousetress. In this volume, robots attack the city and the Mousetress is blamed. Obviously, Katie and Beth know the truth but can't share why. Venable continues to reveal more about her characters and we see them become braver and willing to share more about themselves. Fortunately, Katie discovers who the real supervillains are before disastrous damage is done. A new alter ego is born when Cheesy Justice steps in to save the city. Readers will love the various cats and their roles in protecting everyone.
Detailed artwork brings this story to life so readers feel they are working alongside the characters. I appreciate the way the author offers middle grade readers a look at friendship struggles and ways to overcome them a part of the story line.

Katie is back in the third Katie the Catsitter book. In this volume, she finally starts training to become the Mousetress's sidekick, only to find that she's not as physically capable as she'd hoped. Even worse, her best friend, Beth, is better at being a sidekick and seems to be stealing all of the attention from her other friend, Marie. Meanwhile, giant robots are attacking New York City, and it's up to Katie to find and stop the culprit with the help of a hoard of adorable, talented cats.

Veneble and Yue deliver another funny, heartwarming middle-grade tale that gently explores the growing pains of adolescence and pokes fun at superhero tropes. The multiple plot threads are well-balanced, and the story speeds along at a steady clip. While the interpersonal conflicts resolve perhaps a tad too easily, it's nice to see them solved with honest communication.

Give this to middle-graders who love cats and adventure.

I might be biased because I fell in love with book one the moment I laid eye on it, but book three enchants me just as much. I LOVE this series. I love how Katie has to navigate changing friendships and how she has to handle her relationship with her mother. I love that everything isn't black and white, that the good guy is misunderstood, and how easy it is for the media to manipulate a storyline. It's a great way of showing that not everything is as it appears for kids, while being wrapped up in super heros and cats. Katie is the kind of protagonist I love rooting for. She has struggles, but she tries and she learns. The cats are a silly element that never fail to make me laugh, and I look forward to seeing their specialties every time a new one is introduced. Beautiful, vibrant illustrations, an excellent protagonist, and a fun story, what more could I ask for?

Katie's mom is still working all hours at her job, leaving Katie plenty of time to train to be a superhero with the Moustress while pretending the time is being spent catsitting her many amusing cats. The latest mission has been against Buttersoft Bionics, a company that is dumping waste into waterways. The crew breaks into their offices and manages to reroute the pipes so that the waste is instead funneled into the CEO Reginald Crane's office! Beth, the daughter of Stainless Steel, isn't allowed to go on missions until "she's 35", and Katie can continue only because her mother doesn't know. There are giant robots on the loose that seem to have come from Bionics, and the Mousetress gets mixed up in the minds of the media as the evil doer. Benito Benton is back, hanging out with his brother, who doesn't seem convinced that Benito is Owl Guy, although Katie is. Katie also spends some time with the Wheel-las, a skateboarding group, and bonds with Marie, which makes Beth a little jealous. Of course, Beth is hanging out with Jess more and more, and Jess is upset about all of the robot drama in town because her boyfriend is the son of Buttersoft's CEO. Moustress has some personal drama, since she has never told her parents about her superhero identity, and it's not surprising when Katie's mom finds about her antics and wants her to stop training. Is Benito really Owl Guy? Is he coordinating the robots? Who is behind the current threat to the town, and will Katie and her friends (with help from the cat army) be able to stop them?
Strengths: This was an amusing superhero romp, and I liked that fact that Katie struggled with the training. Superheroes have to practice, just like anyone else. The friend drama is all on point; Beth is so much better than Katie that there's some jealousy, and middle school is a time when people make new friends due to new interests, and it's hard to keep everyone happy. The cats' antics are all amusing, and there are plenty of cute cat drawings.
Weaknesses: It's one thing for Katie to not tell her mother about her superhero training, but it bothered me that the other adults were willing to hide it. Purely an adult/parent reaction, of course!
What I really think: My students like this one, but I'm not a cat person. The first two have circulated well, so I will buy the third book. Just not my personal favorite.

Every book in this series gets better and better! If you've read the first two, you'll love this book too. Katie and Beth are now BOTH training as superhero sidekicks. This is great... until Katie realized Beth is better at all of the training than Katie is. Katie must navigate this new challenge, while also helping Stainless Steel uncover who is behind several robots that attempt to attack the city.
I especially loved the dynamic between Katie and her mom in this book.
A great story with lots of action and so much heart! I highly recommend for young readers and beyond!

I have loved Katie the Catsitter from day one, it's such a colorful comic with crazy fun characters and genuine depictions of relationships. This "episode" Katie is starting sidekick training with her BFF Beth, but Beth seems to have a knack for all the sidekick stuff making Katie feel left out. Plus, there's trouble brewing with Jess and Katie may have neglected to inform her mom about the sidekick training.....and also about Marie being Mousetress. Katie has to work through her feelings, with the help of 217 very unusual cats, and figure out how to be a good friend and a good sidekick. This was such a fun graphic and once again the illustrations are clever, fun and always a bit cheeky. I'm excited to see what adventure Katie and friends get up to next!

Such a fun continuation of the series. Helps kids get a look at working through friendship jealousy and working hard for your goals and dreams. Love this series.

Big fan of the Katie and the Catsitter series. I first purchased this for my daughter (age 10) when she was asked to pet-sit our neighbor's cats. After we read it we both became fans of Katie and her adventures. I plan on buying this for my middle school library as I think it will be a great addition to my growing and popular graphic novel section. A super fun read!

This was another cute installment of the Katie series. It is fun to follow her and Mousetress on more adventures. I didn't like this book as much as the other two, but this series is still a favorite for me and I will be recommending it for a long time.

This book was a quick, fun read. There are parts I felt were a little underdeveloped but I know my students will enjoy it as much as the first two. The superhero cat angle is whimsical and amusing.

Great graphics. Another great installment in the series. Picks up where it left off with the main story. This plot involves robots and Katie’s mom seems like she will be more involved in future stories. Wondering if other characters will resurface again can’t wait for the direction of the next book

The adventure of Katie the Catsitter continues! Robots are attacking the city, and managing friendships can be hard. Will Katie overcome? Or will Katie loose it all?

Did I wake up at 2 A.M. to an email saying I got the ARC for this? Yes. Did I start to read the book right then and there? YES! I love the humor of the cats mixed with the realistic, heartfelt lessons of friendship.
So excited to bring the next installment of the series into the library!

Thank you to #NetGalley, the author and the publisher of the book for the eARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Katie is back for another adventure! She is still training to be a sidekick, while also battling killer robots and also trying to fit in with her friend group. What's a girl to do?

As an awkward tween myself, I really loved this book and thought it was perfect for any girl that feels the same! I hope it shows them that it's okay to be who they are and to shine.

Another fun installment of Katie's adventures with The Mousetress and her talented squadron of cats (including a few new ones)! I love the combo of superhero action, cute cats, and girls navigating their friendships. This is going to be a super popular checkout at the school library where I work!

Katie the Catsitter is such a fun series, and I love the nuance that the other includes through her illustrations. The Cat Burglar continues to be misunderstood, but now we see more about her family and how she has taken Katie and her friend under her wing.

I love how this series arc stretches teens to consider what is being said vs. what they see in the illustrations and actions of Cat Burglar. I also love that there are great vocabulary words and heartfelt moments like when our parents don't approve of what we are doing (or don't always know), but that deep down they want what's best for us.

This is another great read in the Katie the Catsitter series!

This graphic novel is as much fun to read as it is to look at. The story is fast-paced and engaging and the artwork is eye-catching and colorful. I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy, to see the details I may have missed in the digital version. 4 thumbs (or whatever the cat equivalent to a thumb is) up!

This was a pretty fun volume. It was extremely hilarious and the story can be easily understood even by kids that haven't read the previous two books. Kids will be able to related to Katie's changing friendship dynamics. The art is colorful and energetic.

Another cute installment of Katie the Catsitter. The cats are still hilarious. We even gained three more and I just love Googly. He reminds me much of my own little one. There is a lot of emotion as the girls navigate the complicated rollercoaster that is friendship.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this boom in exchange for an honest review. Still a fan!

Love this series. Katie and her friends are perfectly imperfect - just like all 11 year olds. Looking forward to adding this to our collection and sharing with the students.
