I was a bit excited to read this however it wasn't as exciting as I had anticipated. It was still worth reading. I just wish it would have been a bit more of an 'edge of your seat' type of thriller. It was hard for me to predict and that's always makes for a good book in my opinion.

"The Narrator" is the first book I've read by K.L Slater.

I love thrillers.... but this one was a little on the slower side for me. Yes there were a lot of twists and turns. But it never grabbed me. The ending was a complete surprise and out of left field.

I loved that Eve is an audiobook narrator. That just fascinates me. Actually the little bit of detail on how a highly anticipated book in a series might be handled at the publishing house was interesting. This is not my first read by the author and I always enjoy her books. This one was no exception. I read it in a day and was quite captivated by the story.

A mysterious new manuscript by a missing author that is part of a wildly popular series. The book is an easy read, but the plot is layered in intricate by the time it all unfolds. At the end, I had to go back to the beginning and skim through part of the book to see what I missed. That’s always a good sign in a suspenseful mystery. I am not easliy tricked.

In addition to the manuscript, Eve is having difficulties with her ex and is still reeling from her father’s death. She plays a little bit of an amateur sleuth and tries to do what no one else has been able to and find out what happened to the missing author. And as it always turns out for an amateur detective, trouble ensues.

A quick read that kept me guessing. If you like layered plots that unfold, you should give this one a read.

What a wonderful story written by K.L. Slater who is such a talented author!
This book is a real treat! Since I spend hundred of hours listening on Audible to books by very talented narrators, I was intrigued with this storyline involving a narrator and therefore delving into their world.
As ever, this author did not disappoint and you soon get transported in the fascinating world of narrators, publishers and authors all within a wonderful mystery plot.
This is a wonderful book, a pleasure to read and I can't recommend it highly enough...

Yet again, this author manages to pull the reader hook line and sinker into the story and brings an amazing cliff hanger right at the end. Very enjoyable read

When a new manuscript, written by an author who disappeared a year ago, is uncovered, Eve is called to come in and once again be the audiobook narrator. Since Eve hasn’t really worked since Philippa vanished she must agree to this opportunity. Leaving her daughter with her mother while she travels to London to work she is blindsided by her ex who comes and takes their daughter home with him while Eve works. On top of that, the manuscript she receives is anything but how Philippa has written all the other books in the series. A slow setup for an explosive ending.

Another fab book from K L Slater. I particularly liked how this story was based around audiobook narration and books in general.

I always describe Slater as Queen of the house wife thriller. Such fab easy reading style books with the perfect amount of suspense and thrill. This was no exception.

The twist was really good! I thought I had the book worked out but I was so wrong. I actually had to read a few chapters twice to make sure I hadn’t missed it once the twist was revealed.

Thank you for this arc NetGalley.

I would like to thank Bookouture for the DAC of The Narrator by K.L Slater and NetGalley
I found this book really hard to get through to the ending, but I did I thought it was really boring and the pay off wasn’t good at the end. The book dragged on forever to get to the conclusion. The twist wasn’t a great one at all I found it boring and the characters week.

Fantastic!! The Narrator by K.L. Slater really hits the sweet spot for me. The set-up of an audible book narrator and a missing author is perfect for book lovers like me, and the twists and turns- oh my. Nobody does twisty psychological thrillers better than this author, and once again she delivers a mind-blowing read as Eve sleuths out what happened to Phillipa while struggling to deal with her ex. Do not miss this!

I loved this so much! I couldn’t even love it any more. The premise really caught my interest as I love reading anything that has to do with books. I don’t know much about audiobooks so it was cool to learn a bit about them. This was well paced and I was enraptured.

K.L Slater, the queen of the psychological thriller has done it again. She has produced an exceptional story that will keep you rapt until the very last page. At first the premise of the story seems simple but think again, this book has many layers of intrigue. Every time you think you have got to the bottom of what is going on another level is revealed. A really great story you will want to get to the end of while at the same time trying to make it last. I can't wait for the next book from this author.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to listen to this UNPUTDOWNABLE thriller!!

Eve is the audiobook narrator for a famous author and her series of books. When the famous author goes missing, the narrator notices that some thing is off about the new edits that she has been given for the book. Between that, an ex-husband, a stalker, an unhappy marriage and a new wife having second thoughts, Eve now uses her instincts and acts as a detective on this missing persons case determined to find out what exactly happened to the famous missing author.

Not only did I so wildly enjoyed this book, it had so many twists that I did not see coming! Thank you K.L Slater for another outstanding novel!

5/5 stars!

This is a really gripping thriller which is full of twists and unexpected turns.

Eve freelances for a publisher and is asked to narrate book 10 of an authors work, an author who has now disappeared. Reading the draft she is sent, Eve is puzzled by the plot inconsistencies as she knows the previous books so well.

Eve’s search for the truth behind the disappearance of author Phillipa leads into some very dark places and at times puts her and her family at risk.

An unexpected twist and a great ending to the book which has great characters, an original idea and writing that keeps you reading long into the night.

Highly recommended.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
