Beg You to Trust Me by B. Celeste is the second book in the Lindon U series, but it can be read as a standalone. The story revolves around Skylar Allen, who moved to a new state for college to start afresh but finds herself dealing with the aftermath of a sexual assault. The book follows her journey of coping with the trauma and learning to trust again with the help of Danny Bridges, the football team's wide receiver.

This novel is an emotional rollercoaster, dealing with serious and tragic topics, including sexual assault, bullying, and harassment. The author navigates these issues expertly, creating a poignant and healing romance. The book highlights the importance of trusting people, believing in oneself, and finding the strength to survive even in the darkest of times.

Danny and Skylar's relationship develops slowly, starting with a friendship that grows into something deeper as they begin to trust each other. Danny's support for Skylar is commendable, and their chemistry is undeniable. The author does a great job of showing Skylar's character growth throughout the book, and her strength and resilience in the face of adversity are inspiring.

However, the book can be a hard read due to its triggering content, and the author recommends checking the content warnings before diving in. The sexual assault portion, in particular, is quite disturbing and may be challenging for some readers.

Beg You to Trust Me is an exceptional book that expertly handles sensitive topics while delivering a heartwarming and unforgettable romance. B. Celeste is a skilled writer, and her characters are outstanding and relatable. Although the story can be emotionally challenging, it is ultimately uplifting and inspiring. If you're looking for a raw, emotional, and utterly romantic read, Beg You to Trust Me is the perfect book for you.

I am going to be honest and say, this was a hard read for me because of the sexual assault portion, I pushed through it very slowly and once I was stirred clear from it, I was back to being sucked into the relationship between DJ and Skylar and how well it developed between the two throughout the book. Let me tell you, I was ready to put the book down, but just the was B. Celeste writes her books, it is so mind-blowing, it literally makes me keep turning the page and before I know it, I am already at the end of the book. I personally thought this one was a continuous to the first one with the same characters, but I was intrigued with the storyline of DJ and Skylar. I suggest looking up trigger warnings before throwing yourself into this read, other than that I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Beg You to Trust Me is the second book in the series. Author B. Celeste takes you on another amazing journey, this time with DJ and Skylar's story..

Warning: this book deals with a touchy subject that I feel was written very well and realistically. I love both DJ and Skylar and seeing their growth throughout the book.

Can’t wait for more books in this series and more from this author.

3.5/5 ⭐
2.0/5 🌶️

I really enjoyed Danny and Skylar's book. It was much sadder and a bit darker than I was expecting, but I thought it added so much to the story, especially in regards to how Danny handled her feelings and treated her.

I had a hard time with Skylar at times with just how naïve she was... It's hard to take someone seriously in regards to intimacy when they can't even talk about it. And while I think parts of that had to do with her SA, a lot of it was just her immaturity around the subject. That being said, I did enjoy so much of her around that. I really enjoyed watching her growth throughout this book, particularly where Becca was concerned. Although I do wish that beech got more than what came to her, she was downright dreadful.

I really loved Danny. The way he constantly stuck his feet in his mouth was so endearing even when it made him look like a jack jerk. But the way he handled Skylar's trauma was really sweet. I know it wasn't always what she needed at the time, but he was trying so hard and doing his best to be there for her. I also really loved how willing he was to take their entire relationship at her pace, never pushing and never guilting her into more.

This book has basically the exact same timeline as Dare You to Hate Me and had some fun crossover moments, and it looks like the next book with Caleb and Raine will be at least half of the same timeline. I'm really excited to read that one as I love both of those characters to pieces.

Book 2 of the Lindon U series occurs at the same time as Book 1, but follows the life of Football player DJ and his love interest Skylar. Please note that there are themes of sexual assault and PTSD within the story, so if this triggers you please stop reading.

Skylar is in her first semester at Lindon U, and is struggling to make social connections. Convinced by her roommate to attend a party, she's horrified to wake up the next morning in an unknown bed with minimal memory of what happened. All she knows for sure is that she's had sex for the first time... and can't shake the feeling that it wasn't consensual.

DJ didn't recognise the girl who went running out of the Football house that morning, but he was immediately drawn to her. He quickly realises that Skylar simply needs a friend, and endeavours to show her that he's interested in her for who she is.

But as Skylar is hit with the personal consequences of that night, will she be able to confide in DJ? How can she explain what happened when she doesn't know herself?

Thank you to @authorbceleste & @netgalley for providing me with this ARC. I've willingly written this review & all opinions are my own. Firstly, I LOVE that books 1 and 2 occur across the same time frame. We're able to see multiple POV for the same events and gain even deeper insight into what occurred.

Skylar is such a brave soul, and the way that DJ supports her as she embarks on finding herself again is heart warming. This includes exploring her sexuality in a safe way and let me just say it's 🔥 The Author is very descriptive into what Skylar suffers and this is something to be aware of if you may be triggered. I've loved this series so far and will be continuing to read to the end!

I feel this book really addressed Skyalr’s assault really respectfully. I loved Styler’s development in this books. I loved that she grew the strength to move out of her dorm room to escape the toxic environment. I also loved that Skylar finally started to trust Danny and form a friendship. I really loved Danny’s character in this book!! i loved him in Book 1 and was so excited to read Book 2 to get to know his character more!! He was just so kind and would do anything to be there for Skylar!!! I think this book was written amazingly! I definitely recommend this book!!

Thanks to Sourcebooks Bloom Books and Netgalley for providing me with an e-arc for an honest review.

Danny was such a good character. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about him being kind and supportive and knowing when to be there and when to back off. It was refreshing to not have a male character break up with the female character because they are lacking communication. I hated everything that Skylar went through just because nobody ever wants to go through that stuff. Overall, I enjoyed this book.

Okay so remember when I said that Dare You To Hate Me was my favorite? Wellll…. I just hadn’t gotten around to reading Beg You To Trust Me.

Now I fell for Danny (DJ) in Dare You To Hate Me as I loved how he was always joking and trying to make Ivy laugh BUT Danny with Skylar? Guys… I wasn’t ready for that! 😭

That they start out as friends and that it grows from there just made the relationship with these two even more special. Now, again, make sure you check those trigger warnings prior to reading this one as it does touch on subjects of abuse. While the author does an amazing job on handling these tough issues and giving the victims a voice, I would still tread lightly.

Skylar has to be the most relatable female lead I’ve read in a while and Danny.. well, he is literally THE perfect book boyfriend that does not exist. I won’t spoil what he does but trust me when I say, you’ll be swooning left and right with this one.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beg You To Trust Me is the second book in the Lindon U. series by B. Celeste. Please read the content warnings before starting this book. This book drained every emotion I possess in the best way possible. This novel expertly navigates serious, tragic topics blending them into a breath-taking, healing romance.

Skylar’s first semester as a freshman at Lindon U. is tragic and sadly much too familiar. Skylar is sexually assaulted, harassed, and bullied. Skylar’s journey is frightening, lonely, and gut-wrenching. However, Skylar finds an inner strength she didn’t know existed through the help of loved ones, familiar and new. Skylar may only have two people in her corner, but their fierce loyalty strengthens her to face her demons.

I was so happy Skylar found someone like Danny. Danny quickly discovers his first impression of Skylar is wrong. As Danny delves deeper into Skylar’s past, he falls harder and wants only to help her. Danny’s patience and kindness are limitless. Danny has no ego; he wants to support and love Skylar.

Danny and Skylar have a rocky road ahead of them throughout the book. Danny can only do so much; Skylar has to find her way out of this nightmare. But the support of Danny, Olive, and her family encourages her to step up and not let this horrible event define her. Danny and Skylar’s romance is so sweet and heartwarming. This couple fought hard for their happily ever after, but it was so worth it!

The writing, characters, and pace of the book were excellent. However, it was the message the book conveyed that made this book stand out. Life can get ugly, and wrongs are not always righted, but the strength of the human spirit cannot be denied. Although I haven’t known Skylar’s pain, I know any of us could. I did relate to the bullying and harassment. Words can hurt just like physical blows. Beyond the disturbing subject matter, this book was foremost uplifting. Skylar fought through a dark place, but she survived and emerged stronger. This gritty, haunting, relevant story will stick with me. Danny and Skylar’s burgeoning romance broke my heart and, at the same time, gave me hope. The Lindon U. series is raw, emotional, and utterly romantic. I have no words for how intensely this book affected me. Danny and Skylar were special, outstanding characters I will not soon forget. B. Celeste is a powerhouse when it comes to writing unforgettable contemporary romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Book 2 in the Lindon U series, following Daniel "DJ/Danny" Bridges and Skylar Allen.

Skylar is a freshman in college who wakes up one morning after a party in a strange bed not remembering what she did the night before and who it was with. All she remembers was the outcome. She soon meets Daniel, who takes an instant liking to her. She's weary to be friends with him, not trusting who she might have been with the night she forgot everything.

Their relationship starts off as friends first but as she gets to know Danny more she begins to trust him. Danny attempts to help Skylar move on from that night. Leading to lots of heartfelt moments and eventually a relationship.

While I liked both characters, I thought that the story was at a standstill for most of the book. The entire story revolves around Skylar and what happened to her. This is an important part of her character development but she didn't make any type of progress until the last 20% of the book. It would have been interesting to see how Skylar went through the recovery process but it felt rushed.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“I’m determined to prove to her just how much I want her to be in my life, a friend or not. Preferably as more, but I’ll take as much as she’ll give me”

AHHH!!! Danny and Skylar were so freakin cute!! I finished this book in one sitting - that’s how awesome it was. This is the second book in the Lindon U series && it introduces Danny, a wide receiver who plays on the college football team. Danny is in his senior year when he unexpectedly befriends Skylar, a shy girl who left her family in California to make it on her own.

Danny was the sweetest, more sensitive and understanding college boy EVER. I adore him. He was truly there for Skylar through anything & everything, even when she pushed him away. He constantly stood up for her, defending her character even before he knew who she was completely. I also loved how he could tell she was guarded about something and only pushed her when he could see how much it was affecting her. My heart BROKE for Skylar; she went away to college to find herself and explore the world, only to wind up plagued by trauma due to an incident that happens in the beginning of her freshman year. She was so strong through everything and it was agonizing to see her trying to battle everything on her own.

This story was SO good. So much drama, love, found family vibes and lots of spice!! 🔥🔥 That being said, there are some instances in this book that could be triggering to some individuals; be sure to read the warnings before diving in 🙂🫶🏻

Thank you to B. Celeste & NetGalley for the ARC of this book ✨

This installment of the Lindon U series was so good. Just like the first book following a different couple this story had me hooked and never wanting to put it down as well. I love when a book grabs me and has me so invested. I loved reading about how the relationship formed and how they fell in love. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book.

A great read.
A very emotional book and I highly recommend checking trigger warnings before going in.

Beg you to trust me is book 2 of the Lindon U series with each book being a standalone. This book is Danny and Skylars story and boy is it intense.

I went through every single emotion in this book. Skylar was dealt a bad hand at the start but her character growth was so good!
Danny is swooooooon worthy and loved how supported Skylar thorough out this book.

The ending of this book sets up book 3 really well and can’t wait to read that one 😍

Beg You to Trust Me is the second book in the Lindon U series by B. Celeste. It can be read as a standalone though. It follows Danny and Skylar and their friends to lovers romance. Danny is on the football team and Skylar moved across the country to attend Lindon to have a new start away from her family where she doesn't feel like she fits in. After being left by her new friends at a party, Skylar wakes up in someones bed with no memories of the previous night. All she knows is that she slept with someone and has no memories of it. When Danny catches her leaving the football house the morning after the party, they get off to a rocky start. Danny is intreinged by Skylar because the rumors going around school don't seem like the girl he knows. He is determined to make up for their rough start and then they become friends.
I really enjoyed this book and being back in the Lindon U world. I would say that Skylar's journey navigating college, friendships, romance, and coping with what happened to her were the focus of the book over the romance with Danny. Danny does play a big role in helping Skylar through these things but the focus is on Skylar learning how to stand up for herself. In the acknowledgements at the end of the book, the author explains that she had a similar college experience as Skylar but she let her struggles get to her and she ended up transferring. She wrote Skylar as someone stronger than her who had the strength and support to fight back. Learning that helped me appreciate this book so much more and respect the author for putting so much of her personal life in a book. I loved that Danny and Skylar's friend Olive were there for her when she needed it but also allowed her to stand up for herself when she was ready. While I thought Skylar and Danny's romance was sweet, the best part of this book was seeing Skylar's growth. I am also excited to see Caleb and Raine's romace in the next book!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC in exchange for a review!

This was a really fun read! I loved the friends to lovers trope within this book and how kind Daniel was to our MC. Overall, pretty cute.

Skyler Allen thought moving across the country to go to college would give her the escape she needed from her overbearing family, give her a chance to live her life on her own terms... but one night of making her own choices has her wondering if it was a good idea after all. One night, one party, one walk of shame and she feels like such a failure at this living life on her own terms thing... she just wants to forget it all and not think about anything football related ever again.

Then he happens... D. J., the handsome and charming football player who wants to be her friend. She knows football players at Lindon U cannot be trusted, but this one seems to be different, maybe even the kind you can trust your heart with?

Beg You to Trust Me is one of those stories that hits you straight in the heart from the get-go and doesn't let up until the last page comes. It's words will wreck your heart, have you drowning in emotions, and eventually leave you smiling. Skyler made the big move, wanted to separate herself from her family, and be her own person for once, but one day on the job and she feels like she failed. This new life stuff is rough, her roommate is a horrible human, her classes are harder than she anticipated and somewhere on campus is a boy who stole her innocence and she doesn't have a clue who he is... which is completely unnerving. How could everything go so wrong?

Then she meets the boy that changes everything, he gives her friendship, a shoulder to lean on and reassurance that everything will work out the way it is supposed to...but fully trusting him after what happened to her proves to be harder than she anticipated. She wants to give him her heart, but she's heard all the rumors about him, he's not a forever kind of guy. But maybe she is the first girl to come along and change his mind?

As with the first installment in this series I found a story that was so well penned that I lost myself in the words, feeling every emotion, every stirring of butterflies, every ounce of torment, and every heated exchange...it was so easy to get lost in the words and just feel. These are the kinds of stories I love to read, the ones that hurt as much as they make you happy, and this one definitely hit it's mark! The story these two had to tell was so captivating and real... I loved every minute I spend reading it! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

I would like to thank NetGalley for an ARC of Beg You to Trust Me by B. Celeste.

Beg You to Trust Me is the second book in the series. I really love sports romances so I was super excited that I was approved for this book. I really like the MMC and FMC dynamic. I really recommend this book.

Book two in the series, and it can be read as a standalone, but book one is just as good.

Tropes: new adult, sports romance, and dual POV
TW for sexual assault, bullying, and harassment.

Here we have Skylar, a new college student that goes to a party, and something bad happens, so trusting is not easy. That's when Danny comes into the picture. He’s kind, sweet, and doesn’t push Skylar. He understands he needs to treat her lightly and take baby steps to get her to trust him and to show her what friendship and love really are. Because he might portray himself as a flirt without a care in the world, but with Skylar, he wants to be better.

I think the characters are really likable in this book and that is what makes the very slow-paced plot okay, especially with the topics that are being handled. I know some people think this book is slow and they are not wrong. I think the build-up of the friendship to being in a romantic relationship between Skyler and Danny is a crucial part of their story.

I also liked Olive, Sky's other real friend, and can't wait to read her book. Hopping it comes out soon!

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5 (3⭐️ on GR)
Thoughts: 💭

I gave this one 3.5⭐️ because it was a tad bit slower and I struggled to enjoy the FMC. BUT, like DYTHM, this book was decent.

I haven’t read many books where book 2 does not necessarily start where book 1 ends. These kind of ran parallel in a way… It was enjoyable seeing a few overlapping funny scenes from the first book that made an appearance in book 2 that give you a little more background on how they came about.

Second, the MMC, Daniel just gives me so many golden retriever vibes and I’m here for it.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒆𝒈 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑻𝒐 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝑴𝒆…

- Dual POV
- Football
- College / University
- Strangers to Friends to Lovers
- Golden Retriever MMC Vibes
- Guy Falls First and HARD
- Potential Trigger Warnings
