Oh wow, Altara. From the very start, you just feel for her—she’s done everything she can to avoid her fate, and yet fate has a way of catching up no matter how fast you run. I couldn’t help but get pulled into her world the moment she flees to the Ellythian Isles, hiding among the girls at that tropical forest school. You just want her to breathe, to have a normal life for once, even though you know that normal isn’t really going to happen for a runaway princess.
The tension builds immediately. You sense something is off at the school—those cracks in the perfect façade make your skin prickle. And then… the Old Ones show up. Four terrifying, lethal warriors at her doorstep, demanding she reclaim a kingdom she’s barely begun to understand herself. I couldn’t stop turning the pages, because you just know trouble is coming, and yet you’re curious about Ashzale Boneweaver, the ruthless king who somehow makes your heart beat faster even though you know he’s dangerous.
The way Altara navigates her growing powers, her hidden identity, and the looming threat of forced marriage is thrilling. Every scene makes you feel the weight of her decisions, the fear, and the spark of rebellion inside her. And the romance… oh, the romance! It’s that enemies-to-lovers tension that keeps you on edge. You’re rooting for her, even when it’s messy, even when everything seems impossible.
By the end of this book, you’re left holding your breath, desperate for the next installment. Every twist feels personal—you’re right there with Altara, fearing, hoping, and falling a little in love with the story along the way. It’s addictive, magical, and just impossible to put down.

I gave this book a second chance, but it still didn’t work. I DNF’d it because it was just too slow and I couldn’t get into it. Sometimes a book just isn’t for you, and that’s fine.

I greatly enjoyed this story, even moreso than the first series that this one is a spin-off of which is about her older sisters journey. The humour in this and the unexpected wholesomeness in some chapters really hit it home for me on how enjoyable it is. One of my favourite things the author does is infuse her medical knowledge into her stories so it not only sounds believable, she makes it make sense to the reader. It's a much harder skill than many realise. It was such a bingeable read.

*The Archer Princess* by E.P. Bali is the kind of fantasy adventure that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. It follows a fierce princess determined to carve her own path in a world that underestimates her. With a bow in hand and fire in her heart, she faces impossible odds, deadly enemies, and maybe even a little romance along the way. The story is packed with action, rich world-building, and a heroine you can’t help but root for. If you love stories about powerful women, epic battles, and destiny-defying choices, this one’s definitely worth the read!

Bali’s world-building is fantastic, painting a vivid picture of the kingdom, its people, and the magical elements that play a key role in the plot. The book has a nice mix of action, mystery, and heart, with Aria’s growth as a character being a central focus. Aria is a strong female lead who I enjoyed, ,but there were parts where she left me frustrated with some of her decisions
I did really enjoy how female relationships where shown as well as Aria being confident in herself sexually and not being shamed for it.
My one issue was with the love interest. While I do love a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance there are moments in this book that makes Zale so unlikable its hard to ship the two together.

So I really just requested anything to do with women in any capacity in 2022-2023? sounds about right. Even glancing at the synopsis, it looks like there should be a decent chance of sapphics but aren't?

In this captivating fantasy romance, the author weaves a beautifully intricate world filled with magic, adventure, and an undeniable chemistry between the protagonists. From the very first page, readers are drawn into a richly imagined landscape where the stakes are high, and love transcends boundaries.
The characters are delightfully complex, each facing their own trials and transformations. Their journey is not just about romance; it’s about self-discovery and the courage to embrace one’s true self. The chemistry between them crackles with tension, making every shared moment feel electric and deeply meaningful.
The plot is expertly crafted, balancing moments of heart-pounding action with tender, intimate scenes that linger long after the book is closed. The author’s lyrical prose brings the settings to life, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the beauty and danger of this enchanting world.
Overall, this book is a delightful escape that deftly combines elements of fantasy and romance. It’s a testament to the power of love and the strength found in vulnerability. Perfect for fans of the genre, it’s a story that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a magical journey of the heart!

I am so glad I finally decided to pick this up because I loved it! The magical and historical background was beautifully done. The writing was so wonderful that I could picture everything that happened in the story. The folklore portion of the book was so cool and I was excited to keep learning more. I cannot wait to keep reading this series. I think it's worth it, but only for adult readers. I think this would be an awesome TV show or movie.

My favourite fantasy romance author. Read this if you like Sarah J Mass or the zodiac academy series.

The story itself was quick and interesting, but the characters and their story needed more for me. There were quite a few more questions I had than answers that we were given. Altara was insufferable in the beginning and entirely selfish in her goals. It was hard to like her as a character after going through that with her.
The plot and world building of this story is what I have come to expect from an EP Bali novel. There is a fine balance between humorous moments and the heavy ones that made it gripping. The relationship between Altara and Zale was filled with tension, even going so far as to make me like Altara more.

I loved The Warrior Priestess trilogy so obviously had to get my hands on the sequel trilogy following Saraya’s sister, Altara. Altara, the second born princess, has fled from her home to Ellythia to escape her stepmother and the inevitable war that is headed to her city. Ellythia is where her mother was from and she has never visited before so is excited to discover more about her past.
‘I might have to marry him, but I’d make sure he’d regret every second of it.’
Once she arrives to the island, she is shocked to discover that Ellythia have been keeping secrets from the rest of the world and the safe school that she is supposed to be attending has been taken over and is now essentially a school to marry off the girls. At the same time Altara arrives on the island, four bloodthirsty warriors are awoken from a centuries-long sleep and are determined to take back their island from the demons that have invaded and taken over.
‘Lightning never misses its mark.’
Both the plot and the romance had me as equally hooked. I couldn’t put this one down and was so excited to watch Altara learn more about her powers and see her try to avoid her growing connection with Zale. All in all this was such an addictive read and I recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy romance!

- Enemies to lovers
- Dual POV
- Sexy shifter dudes
- Curvy, bipoc, sassy, horny, kickass female MC
- Fated mates
- Blue demon dick
- Mild spice
its very sexist, I didn't liked that. This was a DNF for me. Seeing other reviews about a strong female fantasy character who knew what she wanted and was confident had me picking this up rather quickly, however the writing was a really hard pass for me. The action is very slow, I didn't like it at all.

This was actually and entertaining read!! the world building was good and easy to follow, the plot droves you in, the characters are quirky and fun and strong. It surprised me to be honest.

This book does finish on a major cliffhanger and I look forward to seeing what happens next with this story. Look forward to more by this author.

Altara is strong, capable character. And it was interesting to see how her magic manifested in a way that was so different to her sisters.
Unsurprisingly, the writing is on point, and so is the world building and character development. And after that cliff-hanger, I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I really enjoyed this book. I hope the author continues to write more books in the future. I can't wait to see what this author releases in the future.

I unfortunately only managed a few chapters of this before I had to DNF.
Boring, slow and extremely sexist with pointless spice scenes.
I also couldn't get past the rather childish writing style - which is fine but this was labelled as an adult fantasy read so I was expecting much more.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc copy of this book.

I usually don't like these types of stories, but I found myself entertained by this one. It's not my favorite book by any means, but it's enjoyable.

I freaking love this book! I cannot wait to read more and to read Ekta's other books!!
It was so funny, so exciting, and oh so delicious! She left me wanting so much more. (She really did almost give me what I wanted, SPICE, but then the hero and heroine had to go and save a burning village....SIGH)
I really like the world building so far and the lore. Not everything is known because our FMC is somewhat sheltered and doesn't know much about the outside world other than what she was told from various people.
Honestly, it is a great book please consider reading it! I highly recommend it!!!
