As a large family, we're always trying to learn new skills to help keep our family fed in the event that the worst occurs and food stores go empty. This book had so many tips and tricks that my husband and I both found useful and have already put into action! It also helped keep me from feeling overwhelmed, which is a big deal.

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
The book tells you how and why to preserve food. There are no recipes, it is a how-to book. If you are new to food preservation, this is a good book.

Everything you ever wanted to know about food preservation is included in the cookbook, Food Preservation for Preppers: How to Master Canning, Dehydrating & Freezing with 99 Simple Tips to Prep for the Future, by C.B. Revell. This is an excellent book with modern information, that will help save time and money, without wasting good food and making it possible to have favorite foods on hand for when it is needed.
The book covers the history of food preservation, and the progressive methods that have evolved through the years. There is information on growing, harvesting, choosing, and storing different foods, as well as different methods of preserving such as canning, freezing, and drying.

This is more of a textbook, and not a cookbook; it doesn’t include actual recipes, rather instructions on preserving different foods by different methods. While the instructions are well-written and easy-to-understand, this book isn’t one that will inspire anyone to curl up and read. It is one of those informational tomes and is not particularly fun or even that interesting unless looking to find specific information on a preserving question or method. There are photographs or illustrations, which would make it more interesting to read.

Books such as this are definitely necessary, and it is a good idea to have it on the cookbook shelf for reference when preserving any type of food.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I did not read Food Preservation for Preppers through an educator lens.

Food Preservation for Preppers by CB Revell had a ton of amazing tips for food preservation. I appreciated the compact nature of the book and that everything that is complex was essentially written for anyone to be able to follow and begin their preserving journey. I bought copies for a few friends that have just begun diving into their own preservation and they have really appreciated having this resource.

It's amazing that most books will offer readers a multitude of different recipes, yet this book, the author instead gives people what they really need which is the basics and WHY of preservation.

This is a really useful book that doesn’t rehash what other prepper books have already done. The author offers readers a new angle on food preservation, which will make this book find its way onto many homes and bookshelves!

>>>Reading this within the NetGalley app that eventually disappears or expires is not the most ideal - especially for cookbooks that I'd love to have access to after it pubs.

I want to thank NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this publication. In return, I have promised to provide an unbiased review. I really wish more cookbooks were formatted better and offered as a Kindle version.

A great, easy to follow book full of tips for different preserving methods. The author uses mostly sustainable and healthy preservation techniques and avoids chemicals and synthetics. I appreciated the tips that may be missed in books about each subject.

I was amazed by the amount of information and detail in this book. I like the idea of preserving but didn’t know how to start. This was a great beginners guide. And not just one style there’s way more to it than “simply” canning.

Didn’t had the opportunity to finish to read it before it was archived. I would love to still have access to it once approved to be able to read it again… I guess that was a useless comment, but can’t review a book without fully reading it.

Food Preparation for Preppers is a very comprehensive guide. Granted most of the information listed can be found in other resources. However, the convenience of having it all compiled into one book makes it in my mind very helpful. I personally really enjoyed the book and I’m impressed by the amount of detail and information within. I feel this is a great book to keep on hand especially when you need to know multiple methods of preserving foods.

Useful information but nothing really new. At least it was very thorough on prep for preservation and several different types so a good volume to pick up if you're new to preservation.

This book is a wealth of information! I recently started canning and preserving garden items and other foods so this book was super helpful in this process. It gave me insight into less popular methods I didn't know about and gave me some things to keep an eye out for. I appreciate thorough resources like this!

What good is growing your own food or buying in bulk if you cannot store it properly?? This book has the answer to almost any food preservation you could ask. And this book is NOT just for preppers! This is for the busy mom who needs to bulk cook for ready, easy, nutritious meals or the homesteader who just brought in 20lbs of zucchini and wants to have other options than a bakery’s worth of zucchini bread or blocks of frozen zucchini mush. I’ve taken courses in dehydration and canning, and this book really does a thorough job in succinctly covering all important information and then some. An absolute go-to book on my homesteading shelf!

Great! i really enjoyed this short and to the point book on preserving food. Especially the way it encompassed different types of food preservation, some of which I am rather confident in and some which I have never attempted. I look forward to putting this new knowledge to use.

I love this book. I’ll be adding this to my other cookbooks collection.

This book goes into non complicated details on how to prepare your food for different type of storage. It talks about basics, temperatures, types of canning, and different ways of storing.

It basically teaches you to depend on yourself with the preparation of food instead of going to the grocery stores for premade boxed items with unnecessary chemicals and toxics.

If you enjoy canning like I do, or other preparations of natural food like I do, then this book is for you. It’s an excellent guide who’s interested in changing their lifestyles or beginners, or even experts. I will most definitely purchase this book for myself.

I am always looking for ways to preserve food, because I have to eat healthy, fresh foods. It's hard to keep everything fresh unless you plan to go to the store a few times a week to restock your fridge. This book is super helpful and easy to follow.

This is a wonderful resource of a book. Don't let the title of 'Preppers" put you off. In the current climate of high food prices even people who do not grow much of their won produce can make use of many of the techniques here to avoid food wastage.
I found so much information and advice on the different ways of saving food, many of which I will be employing. It may even encourage me to grow more than fruit in the future as I now have the tools to enable me to store that produce more effectively

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Revell’s FOOD PRESERVATION FOR PREPPERS is a compact book. With just 109 pages, the author dissects food preservation. Most books will offer readers a multitude of different recipes, but the author instead gives people what they really need; the nuts and bolts of preservation. This was pure genius on Revell’s part because many, if not most, preppers already have the recipes or create their own. Instead, the author gave people what they needed; factual knowledge on how to preserve food and avoid spoilage.

The book is filled with tips - 99 official tips to be exact and numerous other why-didn’t-I-think-of-that? tips. For example, I would have never considered using panty hose to store onions! As a farmer, I’ve used various preservation methods. Over the years, I’ve accumulated an untold number of canning recipe books. And while most of them give basic canning procedures, none have delved deeply into *why* foods spoil.

This is a really useful book. It definitely doesn’t rehash what other prepper books have already done. By offering readers a new angle on food preservation, I believe that Revell’s book will find its way onto many bookshelves.
