Ted and Molly were parents to young Stephen Grisham in on Christmas Day Molly tell Ted she was pregnant and it wasn’t his. Despite this family set back Ted didn’t let that stop him from being a great dad to little redheaded Kathleen and it was a good thing because Molly acted as if the girl wasn’t even in the house. It was even worse when after the birth Molly suffered from postpartum depression that would last until her death, that wasn’t for years to come though. Stephen would start dating Wendy the sister of the two juvenieldelinquents that grew up to be adult terrors. Ted didn’t understand Wendy was beautiful but why was she with young Stephen? He walked with a boot on his foot from Polio as a child but when Ted found out who her Ken was he knew why. Because when you date everyone in town you had to move on to what’s left and that was poor Stephen. She wasn’t at all a proper wife and despite having two children she still let her brothers manipulate her and this is why Steven Found himself in jail for Wendy’s murder it would separate the family especially his children, Louise and Danny. This whole time Kathleen grew up and she was away at college when she found out everything that went down so she came back home and in the end she would be left taking care of the mother that never took care of her. I know it may seem I gave away key points of the plot the trust me when I say there is so much more to this book and OMG what a great book it was. They had some really great characters and some really bad ones and it made for such a great plot. I am totally in love with the ending of the book and everything that happened for Kathleen and her family I love Doris and wish I had a friend like that I just love this book and I highly recommend it. It is true that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover because I pass this one up a couple times before reading it and I am so glad I kept going back and finally got it. This is really an awesome awesome book! I received this book from NetGalley and a publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
