I liked the writing and how the story didn’t stale at all, just kept pushing through and intrigued me with the diverse cast of characters their interactions.
I was so intrigued by the premise of this book and it honestly was so much better than I expected it to be it is an incredible read.

I just love this highly entertaining series!

It's 1584 and Walsingham's faithful spies Kit Scarlett and Lohmar are hunting down a Jesuit assassin on the run who has been sent by the friends of Mary, Queen of Scots, to eliminate the Queen....

A swashbuckling delight full of evil twists and turns, lots of sparkling dialogues and a cast of exquisitely drawn characters. And last but not least, one cannot help enjoying the cinematic qualities that the author brings to this adrenaline-fueled novel!

A captivating series that deserves to be discovered and enjoyed without any moderation whatsoever!

Many thanks to Sapere Books and Netgalley for this terrific ARC

This Elizabethan adventure novel was a riveting read, and a sobering reminder of the collision of religion and politics during the reign of Elizabeth 1.

I loved the two protagonists. . . Spies with the humorous bickering and sexual tension found in Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. They were smart, beyond capable, and fun to follow as they tried to identify and capture a priest assigned to kill the Queen.

The novel did not have as much historical detail as some period mysteries, but it was an interesting story and I loved the time I spent reading this book.

Netgalley provided me a complimentary copy in return for a candid review.

This is a great follow up to the first in the series. Engaging from start to finish. Excellent continuation of character development.

What a fantastic follow up to the first in this series! I loved the Gentlewomen Spy and quickly grew to love both Kit’s character and that of Iomhar. They make for such a great team and the banter between them both, squabbling like an old married couple, is so entertaining to read.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting The Royal Assassin and I was surprised at how easily I disappeared into the story. I love the setting and it’s a great historical fiction. Anything set around the Tudor period I love and on a quest to protect Queen Elizabeth from potential usurpers to her throne makes for exciting reading!

It’s one of those books that I always found myself looking forward to returning back to. I have such a fondness for this series now and I can’t wait for the next one to see how it will further move along with the plot and story!

Loved it as much as the first one. Lots of excitement and adventure. Great character's we find out more about as it goes along what more could you ask for. Not really a stand alone though as themes run through out although there is some resolution in each part there is always a bit left to discover so a bit of a cliff hanger at the end. Looking forward to the next which is already on preorder. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
