Arc Review Netgalley

High Recommend This Amazing Book. The author cross their T & dotted I’s in a sense that they had substance to support their voice in the book. Very unique concepts looked at in a new light for me I might not have see if not for this book.
This is going to definitely be a recommend for those in coaching classes for something to aid them in their own practices in life as well.

A book about living a life of authenticity, and getting in touch with what our soul needs. One of my favourite parts of this book is reading the journeys just before falling asleep at night.
The journal prompts are an excellent way to get in touch with oneself, to truly understand what our soul wants out of this life, and what it has to accomplish. This is a book that you will definitely want to own, so that you can go back to it time and again. Many of the journal prompts and rituals are ones that can help in different situations and with different ideas and or purposes in mind. Even the journeys would benefit from being repeated.

I especially liked the ancient self soul prompts - particularly the tarot exercise, the know your medicine soul prompt, the sacred discovery of place ritual, and the curative love of the ocean journey.

"The role of nature is to lure us into her wildest parts so that we may undo all the conditioning and structures that limit our full expres-
sion and untether from everything that’s holding us back."

Highly recommended!

A beautiful look into how to reconnect with your wild self. I would love to get this in audiobook format, or something that allows me to hear the meditations read by one with a calm, entrancing voice. I perform guided meditation much better that way...so I wasn't able to actually DO any of them...but I look forward to the opportunity to do so.

Mapping Your Life

The author states that the wildhearted way is, basically, when we choose to follow our own authentic inner pulse no matter wherever the seasons takes us. Because it is the process learning and healing that we remember how to trust the true and natural wisdom within; and through loving self-exploration we find and devote to our unique spark, releasing it from external restrictions and surrendering to all we came here to be.

I feel this book is all about being creative and allowing your inner spirit guide you. As the author states that we should allow our ideas to take a visionary form on paper, allowing our subconscious mind brings this vision board to life because we are magical. In designing our vision, a layered, multifaceted, wildhearted vision from a handful of images,
emotions, ideas, dreams, and destinies comes together. She provides a ritual to create our own gagnetic vision board.

The are many practice exercises/rituals for manifesting your soul’s desires, and meditation techniques to implement. I firmly believe that when we stay true to our unique self blissful connections will find their way to us.

Very good and informative book. Love it and highly recommend.

The title of this book spoke to me immediately! I soon found out that a physical copy of this type of book works best for me. It is the type of book where highlighting and writing notes in the margin would have benefited me further in fully appreciating the information shared. I enjoyed how the foundation is the wonder of nature " walk on bare feet in nature around your home or close by. Ask to be nourished by the land as you walk slowly and mindfullly. Send love and gratitude to the layer of sacred soil that supports you.". Nature is good for the soul!

I would recommend that you take your time with it. There is alot of information and exercises shared - some of it resonated and some of it did not. That's the beauty of this book - there are many exercises for one to choose from. I'm sure the author would like you to experience all of them and perhaps you will if you return to the book but at times I just felt there were too many and overwhelming - so I picked and chose which ones worked for me right now.

One exercise that I was ready for was the Loving Hindsight soul prompts:
"Start with writing down what happened and how it "failed" or how you were "rejected." Without blame, write where you were, who was involved, what you wanted and why you didn't get the outcome you wanted."

As mentioned - you need to take your time with this one there is lots of information, so many exercises that seemed repetitive at times but as I said you can pick and choose what works, speaks to the universe alot (which is okay for some people but may not have general appeal) and have a physical copy.

Enjoy!

I think this is a truly helpful book for introspection and self awareness. I would love to see the guided meditations made into an audio form as I really need that voice in my brain to walk me through it as opposed to reading and trying. But if you are adept at visualizing, the meditations are top notch.

The journal prompts are also well done, even if the author's journey may feel distracting to focus on your own.

This book is what you can make of of it, but it is a lovely tool.

I like the message that I have gotten from this book. Manifest the many positive soul urges that come my way. This book gives really lots of ways to begin a better life right now, Another thing I really like is the journal usage and the structured ideas for going about it. Throw in time outside and learning what makes your heart sing and you will find a light manifesting . I was looking forward to each chapter and the many novel ideas for putting into practice the new ideas I learned. Wildhearted Purpose is a well written obviously lived way to find meaning and become part of the many souls that are here on our planet!

Wildhearted Purpose by Kris Franken

(I received a digital copy of this book for review purposes through NetGalley)

I am not a visualization person. I just don’t have a strong visual imagination. You ask me to follow along with a guided meditation in a book and I’m just going to read the text. Unless it’s in audio form, where I am able to feel the movement of a visualization and lose myself in rhythm and flow of speech, it’s just going to be lost on me. But I say this because the core of Kris Franken’s Wildhearted Purpose are stunningly intricate meditations on nature and how our relationship with nature mirrors our relationship with ourselves.

Franken’s descriptive prose is both deeply personal, grounded in her specific relationship to the natural world around her, and relatable to a broader population. Her journey is not your journey by any means, but provides the habitat for you to grow and explore your own inner landscape.

The first section of the book is filled with these types of guided meditations; invitations to understand yourself. I would welcome audio recordings of these meditations for others who have some level of aphantasia much as a workbook or journal would be a lovely supplement to the second section which is more practical.

The second section is a series of journal prompts that uses the natural world and new age spiritual concepts to develop one’s career goals. Starting by understanding what you love and value before being more grounded in the specifics, it is particularly focused on those who want to have creation and creativity in their work. She encourages risk-taking in the same way that that natural world is also unstable and uncertain.

The third and final section is about taking the results of the introspection in the first two sections and applying it to daily life. Morning rituals to put you in the right frame of mind for the day, ways to bring your mind and body together, and ways to give back to your community. I really like the focus on the cycle of life, and how things grow, blossom but also have to end. It’s a really sweet way to reframe things that come to an end. I have ADHD, routines and schedules have a lifespan that I cannot always control, and that framework reinforces a mental shift I have been trying to make.

Overall, in my personal opinion, this wouldn’t be a book I typically pick up. I’m more of a polytheist and don’t have much interest in the new age concepts that concentrated in the third section, such as raising your vibration or removing toxins, finding your star families and such. My discomfort comes from a disability standpoint, and a good starting place to understand that can be found in Lisa Rankin’s article “10 New Age Beliefs We Need To Unpack If We Want To Be Social Justice Allies” and it’s followups. I am not casting any specific judgment on Franken’s work or personal beliefs, I just think it’s important to use your discernment in all aspects of life, including your spirituality.

But there is a great deal of good here that I am going to take from it. The journaling prompts and rituals are a delight and useful for anyone that struggles to separate themselves from the expectations of others. Her meditations are a joy to read and vivid in their descriptions. I think I personally value more stability in my life than her vision allows, but I discovered through this book that this was a conscious decision on my part (I’m American, she’s in Australia. This decision is called healthcare), which is also powerful self-exploration.

will be a goddess send for you. I really like how the author walks you through step by step and provides rituals and other material that you can incorporate into your own current practices.

For those that follow my reviews, I’m all about individuality and owning your own unique self and the author embraces it too. This would make a great gift as well!
