Joshua Hood is back with the hard-hitting knuckle dragger Adam Hayes in The Treadstone Rendition. This Ludlum universe adventure is nothing short of the violent and battle driven standard that Hood has been accustomed to delivering. Hayes is in for the fight of his life as he is called to redeem a favor with drastic consequences.

Adam Hayes is a man of war, modified by those running Treadstone to be the point end of the spear, bring lives to an end. Currently, he’s a soon to be father again and needs a job; insert Blackrock Limited. Blackrock has Hayes in India evaluating a corporate issue while a team of CIA clowns is kicking over a hornets nest to pocket a little green. Captain Abdul Nassim of the Afghani National Army has found proof of negligent activities that are putting American and Afghani lives at risk.

Knowing he needs to find a way into Afghanistan to help save the man who did the same for him, Hayes turns to a State Department contact for assistance. After a long and treacherous journey into the land that the Taliban will soon own, Hayes is on the hunt to find his friend. Not only will he have to attempt to find and save his friend, Hayes will have to fight against the Taliban and the CIA goons that are attempting to stifle the information that Nassim is in possession of from getting out. The fate of one of America's greatest allies and his family sits in Hayes’ hands and time is running out.

Joshua Hood is no stranger to producing pulse pounding and authentic books that put you in the driver's seat the entire time. He continues to impress and force readers to indulge in such cleverly written stories with so much ease. Hayes is battle tested and daring while being dedicated to something so dangerous. I find a very vibrant and resourceful character like his to be very enjoyable to read as they aren’t always dealt the easiest hand. Hood ensures you have plenty to chew on as the characters are all deeply detailed while he never lets up on the gas at all. The Treadstone Rendition does not disappoint as Adam Hayes has a debt to repay, hoping that it doesn’t cost him his life.

Set in the Treadstone world of Bourne, this is the 4th book in the Treadstone world featuring Adam Hayes. Written by Joshua Hood, it's obvious he is a Ludlum fan, he maintains the tension filled, fast paced, bite your finger nails off stories that we expected and received from Robert Ludlum. Hood may have borrowed some of the back story, but his story telling skills are 100% exciting and page turning/ burning good.

Anyone familiar with the Robert Ludlum series will feel right at home in this story. Plenty of action, led by an engaging protagonist breaks his retirement promise when he hears the call to protect his friend and his country.

I was a big Robert Ludlum fan, but this was not quite the same. The basic story had possibilities, and the scenes about the actual rescue were good. However, I thought Adam's character could have been better developed, and there were a few loose ends--wasn't sure how all the help was able to appear at just the right moment, and what happens next was up in the air, Maybe Hood intends a series? I received this as an arc from NetGalley and was not pressured to give a positive review.

Joshua Hood knows how to write an action-packed thriller! While Adam Hayes is in the Jason Bourne and Treadstone sphere, Hood has done an incredible job of carving out his own lane in the Bourne universe. Treadstone and Bourne are ever-present in Hayes' story but aren't the focus. More like elevator music; you might not notice it but it's always there. Hayes is what Jason Bourne might look like if he had never lost his memory. If you've read anything in the Treadstone universe you know their agents aren't long for this world. Hayes is an outlier in what we know about Treadstone agents. It's compelling to see how he squares away his past with his hopes for the future instead of being constantly chased, a la Bourne. The Bourne universe is in good hands with Hood!

Thank you to the publisher, author and Net Galley for the ARC for this book. This is the 4th Book in the Adam Hayes saga within the Treadstone realm, and once again, Joshua Hood proves to be a master of non-stop action. In Treadstone Rendition, we find Adam Hayes being slowly but surely drawn back into the Treadstone fold and portends exciting things to come. There is one caveat here which caused me not to give 5-stars, and that is, I think it is possible that the Treadstone universe is getting a little too crowded. If anything, I feel this series could thrive better in its own space, rather than be put within this Ludlum universe. Regardless, I did finish this book in 2 days, and this author's style has really grown on me over the past 4 books. Definite thumbs up.

Adam Hayes gets a call from an Afghan man who saved his life years ago. The man and his family are in danger he Adam is the only one who can help him. Not only is the Taliban after him but there is also a rogue CIA agent who wants him and his family dead. The action in this books starts from the first page and never lets up. Adam has more lives than a cat, but he may have run out. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Joshua Hood’s forth entry into the Treadstone Series that revolves around Ex-Treadstone agent Adam Hayes. The book starts with an old friend of Adam’s from his time in Afghanistan, Abdul Nassim, in trouble. Adam drops everything to go to Afghanistan to find his friend and his family, and bring them to safety. Standing in his way is a rogue CIA agent who has been selling weapons to the Taliban. He will stop at nothing to retrieve the proof of his treason from Nassim.

This book is a page turner. The rest of the books in the series, it is full of nonstop action. The bullets never stop flying as Adam tries to save his friend. Setting this book during the United State’s withdrawal from Afghanistan added for a number of twists and turns that only added to your enjoyment of the story. The plot was excellent and the dynamic of someone not after Adam Hayes directly was a fresh way to present the story.

Overall this book and this series is excellent. Mr. Hood writes with a purpose and intensity that really draws you in. There is no lack of action through out the book, so it never slows down. If you are a thriller fan this is a must read. Thank you to @Netgalley @PenguinbooksUSA and @Joshuahoodbooks for a free advance copy for an honest review.

Riveting.
Another great Adam Hayes story.
When Adam, who has left Treadstone to be more of a family man, is approached for help in getting an old friend and his family out of Afghanistan during the closing days of the US conflict, he reaches out to other former contacts of his, to try to get into the country and get the family to safety. His friend has a drive containing proof of corruption and brutal murders on the part of an American CIA officer who will stop at nothing to get the drive back and kill him. As Adam makes his way, furtively into the country, and works yo get his friend's family out as they are chased and nearly killed, he finds that calling on his former boss and head of Treadstone may well be their only way out.
The action is non stop, the suspense superbly done with great locale descriptions, and terrific character development.
Is asking a favor of his former boss a good idea?
Being beholden to Levi Shaw could be the biggest mistake he ever made.
Can not wait to find out: mistake yes OR mistake no.

The novel takes place in Afghanistan with various Taliban factions and Americans pitted against each other. The action centers around someone having seen something he shouldn’t have and a photo taken that could become troublesome if it gets into the wrong hands. If excessive violence and killings is to your liking, then you will not be disappointed. However, it made this reader long for Jason Bourne.
I thank NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

Once again Joshua Hood blows the reader away with a story full of action and adventure at the expense of Adam Hayes. Treadstone stories never disappoint the reader., Adam Hayes once again is pulled into action to help a friend fight for his life, while being dragged back to Afghanistan. The brutality of a country comes through on this fight for lives and escape. Don’t miss the continuing adventures of Adam Hayes.

Joshua Hood ups his game big time with The Treadstone Rendition. Packed with gritty, adrealine-pumping, and cinematic action, the narrative moves along at hyper speed with Adam Hayes at the helm of a time-bound mission to rescue a friend from the Afghanistan during the US troops removal. Calling in favors that come back to haunt Hayes almost immediately, he goes on an action rampage to extract his friend and his family after he comes into concrete proof of a CIA agent dealing arms to the Taliban behind Uncle Sam's back. Helicopter crashes, RPGs, unmanned drones, are just some of the perils Hayes must dodge if he is to survive the night and get out before its too late. A must-read if you're keen to get your adrenaline level dangerously high with constant shootouts.
