Just what I was missing in the first book!!! Emily's girlfriends' pov at another time in history. Now it seems quite logical to me that if it's a trilogy and there are three paintings in the story, each one corresponds to the disappearance of each one of the girls, but at first I didn't realize.

I loved the Jenee/Xavier relationship and also the friendship with Madame Shipley. It was very clear to me that Violet would be Iris because of her name, although what I didn't expect at all is that FINALLY the viscount/duke has disappeared and is not going to return (hopefully).

Emily/Jenee reunion was cute!!! I had doubts if they could get to know about what happened to them but luckily thanks to Iris it happens. I can't wait to read Tuscany Time to find out Gabriella's version and for the three of them to get together again.

Time Travel Romantic Suspense

A painting pulls Jenee over a century into the past, where she finds love, has a mystery to solve, and faces deadly danger. This story pulled me into the pages. I enjoyed the romance, mystery, and suspense. Jenee and Xavier have an evil time traveler they must stop. Can they do it? How many people would have to die before he is stopped? It just might take a miracle to stop the deadly danger. I recommend this story to those who like time travel with mystery and suspense.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book, and this is my freely given opinion.

This is book 2 of the Lost in Time series, which a time travel romance/paranormal adventure/mystery that centres around the Renaissance art pieces of Marco Allegretto and his time travelling muse, Iris Bellerose, lovers who are separated by time and magic. Three of his pieces, which immortalize his love of Iris, are acting as time portals, and he and Iris are pulled into a drama using these portals to chase down a murderer and find their way back to each other. Their story is also immortalized in a popular book, published in the modern day. Three good friends, Gaby, Emily, and Jenee, were brought together by the love of this book and the art. Book 1 was about Emily, book 2 is Jenee's story.

This seems so convoluted, with so many different stories and timelines crossing, but it does come together quite nicely when you read the stories, and does not translate well in my poor attempt to summarize them.

But Jenee, and her two friends are visiting the exhibit of Allegretto's art in the modern day. Like Emily, Marco pulls her through the portal of one of his pieces and she is thrown into turn of the century Paris. There, she meets Xavier, a Parisian detective, and makes friends with a wealthy American woman, whose secretary is the disguised Iris continuing her quest in finding Marco's lost art/portals and the villain time traveler. Jenee is drawn into the drama, and drawn into a love affair with Xavier, though there were many barriers to them learning to trust and love each other - including the fact that she is not of his time!

A lovely perk of the story is that the time she is pulled into is 8 years after the time Emily landed in England, so the two friends were able to find each other again - I found that to be a lovely twist, to continue the bonds of their friendship.

This was a fun, time travel adventure, murder-mystery love story that continues to intrigue me.

I tried multiple times to pick up this book but I couldn’t force myself to finish it. There’s little character introductions, and the reader is told who the MCs are instead of being shown. I was expecting an atmospheric time travel romance and what I got was info dumped and an unconvincing insta-love. I think the story was trying to dive in head-first into the plot but more development was needed. It read very superficially and it was a disappointment.

Jenne Lazaar and her friends are visiting an art exhibition that features paintings with a fascinating story written about them. They will soon find out the truth.
Our heroine is about to discover Paris in the year 1900. The city of love and a time of glamorous people. It is also a dangerous time for some people.
Xavier Doumaz is a police inspector on the lookout for terrorists after a bombing. The woman wearing strange clothes and appearing out of nowhere is definitely a suspect.
Our hero seems to spend more time flirting with the ladies in our story than investigating anything.
Because all three of these books are strongly connected you will meet some of the characters in all the books. You can read just one of the series but it is definitely better to read them in order.
A steamy and very romantic tale.

This was a good read. I liked the time travel aspect of it. The mystery and suspense played well with my imagination of entertainment. The romance was most intriguing and scandalously hot.

Jenee Lazaar, a successful dermatologist on a “girls’ weekend” in Manhattan with her two best friends, is snatched from the Metropolitan Museum of Art through a portal in a famous painting and finds herself in Paris, but this Paris is nothing like the Paris where she was born and raised: the Eiffel Tower is painted yellow, there are horse-drawn carriages instead of sleek Mercedes, and the year is 1900! Then Jenee meets the handsome police detective, Inspector Xavier Doumaz who investigating a terrorist cell, suspects she might be a dangerous conspirator. Xavier’s investigation might be the least of Jenee’s worries as the famous Renaissance painter, Marco Allegretto, and his time-travelling muse, Iris Bellerose, enlist her help to recover Allegretto’s stolen painting and destroy a time-travelling serial killer before he destroys them.
The second book in the series & I’d not read the first - I've since bought it - I didn't feel lost & thoroughly enjoyed it. A well written well paced book with strong likeable characters. I really liked both Jenee & Xavier, two strong complex characters.I found myself engrossed in it & I look forward to the next book in the series.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

I loved it .. from beginning to end.. the middle was even better!
That’s all I’m going to say. I won’t give anything away. I was intrigued and entertained…couldn’t put it down!

I admire this author ..because as we know, a time travel story can go forward and backwards, but in the end..all the dots must connect, and it must all make sense! And Ms Ami ..did it in spades!

Time travel through another painting, this time to Paris in 1900.

This book had me on my toes between the complicated Jenee and detective Xavier romance, a suspicious vicomte, and protection of the second painting.
I liked how complicated the romance was between Xavier being suspicious of Jenee's involvement in the bridge collapse she appeared in the middle of to Jenee discovering Xavier had a wife and daughter. A bonus that the romance was pretty steamy.

Our main characters from book one make an appearance, but this book could be read as a stand-alone easily.

I am looking forward to the next book since this one gives a bunch of hints about the third time traveling friend. Will all of the paintings be reunited in the same place/time?

Thank you to Dragonblade and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.
