I love Myla. See her in high school and Lincoln pre-purgatory was a change. It was something I was not initial expecting but I feel that it fit into the series. A bit out of order but it still made sense. Short and to the point. Myla and Lincoln have a short adventure. I am bias and looking forward to anytime with Myla and Lincoln.

If you are an avid reader of Christina Bauer’s books especially Angelbound Origins like I am then you know that Lady Reaper is not the first time we have met Myla and Lincoln. No Lady Reaper takes us back to Myla and Lincoln’s teenage days.

Myla’s best friend Cissy has been asking her for years to go with her to Purgatory's Annual Lust Festival but Myla has always turned her down this year is different as Myla has a reason for being there. Myla has heard that Lady Reaper is to be there. Myla has wanted a piece of that action for a long time. Myla wants to take Lady Reaper out of the game.

Christina Bauer’s Angelbound Origins series is the best book about angels and demons that I have ever read. I fell in love with this series with the first book Angelbound. I can’t seem to get enough of this series. I never want it to end. I love Myla’s best friend, her tail, which in my book just happens to be her best friend. Myla is the best demon I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I love her attitude and her tails as well.

Oh, and let's not forget to mention Lincoln, Myla’s hot boyfriend. No way can we ever forget him. Lincoln thinks his best friend Walker is in really big trouble and sets out to help him but he soon finds himself up against the Grim Reaper. Oh, Oh what fun this is going to be. Myla looking to go up against Lady Reaper and Lincoln is looking for a fight of another kind with the Grim Reaper.

Oh my, I can’t wait for the continuation of Myla and Lincoln’s story in the next book Reaper Games. Oh man, just that title is enough to draw a crowd. The question is what is coming next, right? What lies ahead for Myla and Lincoln?

Oh and what about Cissy? Where will she fit in, in the Reaper Games? And Walker what about him where does he come in? Oh wow, so many questions. I don’t know if I can handle it. In my mind, I am doing this little dance I am so excited for the Reaper Games.

I was very sad to hear that Christina had been sick with COVID. I hope she feels better soon so she can write the rest of the story. But seriously I do hope she feels better soon.

As with all of Christina Bauer’s books I highly recommend Lady Reaper to all demon and angel readers! Grab your copy of Lady Reaper today!

Young Myla looks for a challenging fighter but gets Lady Reaper who has lots of tricks up her sleeve. Young Lincoln tries to protect his friend Walker from a ghoul called the Grim Reaper. What could possibly go wrong with either scenario? Fans of Christina Bauer will love this book.

Lady Reaper (Book 10, The Angelbound Series) - Christina Bauer

I was given a copy of this book to review through Net Galley to provide an honest review.

Christina Bauer is an American author who writes many fantasy stories. Besides the “Angelbound Offspring” series she has also written the “Pixieland Diaries” and the “Beholder” series plus many more.

Once again, we delve into the world of a young Myla Lewis before she meets the charming Thrax prince, Lincoln.

For those of you who are yet to know our young Myla, she is a quasi-demon who lives in Purgatory and fights in the arena against evil souls.

But now she is caught up in the schemes of Lady Reaper and her husband the Grim Reaper. Yet in following down this path she is hurtling herself along she is unknowingly putting herself and her best friend in danger, only she doesn’t even know it.

“Lady Reaper’ is a short fantasy story that is wicked, scheming and just wonderful. I love the author’s work and for a short story – the author really used everything she had at her disposal to have you hooked and wanting more. One thing I will say if you haven’t read any of the Angelbound series before starting this one, it may not be the best to start with. I just love reading anything this author has written about Myla and Lincoln and I can’t wait for the next in the Angelbound series!

As always Christina has kept up the adventure quotient high. At the end of the novelle I was wanting to know more but guess will have to wait. Always enjoy her books.

I just could not finish this book. You're kind of dropped into the middle of the story, and there's a lot of references to characters and situations that didn't make sense, because there's no backstory. Maybe if you read the other books in the series, it would be a good read, but I wasn't able to get past the first few pages. I will say that it's a creative idea for a book, just not for me. Thank you for the opportunity to review Lady Reaper.

A Valentine read for the winter holidays! At least that is how I interpret going to a Lust Festival on the 13th of February. Chocolate. Music. Rides. Oh yeah, that says romance for me. Add in getting into battle for Myla and there you go: one lovely Valentine’s Day. (chuckle)

I am not an impartial reader as I love Myla. Christina Bauer’s trip back in time lets us see Myla before Lincoln and Myla has not changed much over time. Sass. Strength. Loyalty. Myla is a great role model for anyone. She stands up for what she believes in and friendship, once earned, is sacred. I love her friendship with Cissy. I kind of compare it to Wednesday and Enid. I just watched Wednesday and I immediately thought of Myla and Cissy. Rainbows and Fire. Cissy of course represents all that is pink and light, but let her envy demon and she shoots fire. Whereas Myla is always on fire, but let her baby boy do something sweet and she is all pink and light. (spoiler alert…yes Myla has a baby in a book in the series.)

Lady Reaper showcases a great introduction to the Reapers, a new mystery, and the bond of friendship. The graphics are awesome. Bauer keeps improving their books with graphics and they are great. I particularly love the house and of course Lady Reaper herself. I could totally cosplay the heck out of her.

I am looking forward to Reaper Games continuing this story. I know how it all turns out, but Bauer makes the ride so much fun. Plus, Myla kicking butt is always a good time. Get your fix of Myla, Lincoln, Cissy, and Walker with Lady Reaper. It’s a fun quick read.

Lady Reaper by Christina Bauer..
Young Myla and Lincoln Kick Ass and Take Names in This Prequel Novella for REAPER GAMES!
A part-demon girl fights Lady Reaper
Myla Lewis is a sixteen-year old part-demon girl who fights evil souls in Purgatory’s Arena… and she’s always on the lookout for a good chance to fight evil. A SUH-weet battle opportunity appears with Lady Reaper, the famous ghoulette who wields both a scythe and nefarious intensions. Myla discovers Lady Reaper will hide inside the Demon Woods ‘ride’ at Purgatory’s Annual Lust Festival. Time to visit the fest, kick ass and take names, right? Wrong. Lady Reaper has other plans for Myla and her bestie, Cissy…
Brilliant read. I loved the photos at the start of each chapter. 5*.

Lady Reaper is the prequel to the Reaper Games novel. We get introduced to 16 yr old Myla who is part demon girl. She is feisty and loves a good fight. We also get to meet a 17 yr old Lincoln who is part angel and fights demons to keep humans safe. This novella is a great introduction to the world and I look forward to reading Reaper Games next.

Lady Reaper is a novella set before the first Angelbound book. Myla is a 16-year-old girl who fights demons to the death in the arena. She is always in the mood for a fight. When Myla discovers that the famous ghoul Lady Reaper will be in the Demon Woods on the annual festival and she is excited to look for her. But Lady Reaper has plans for her and Cissy too.

Myla is one of my favourite characters and I loved reading about her before she was scala when she was just a kick-ass arena fighter. And that ending... OMG, I can't wait for the next book! :)

Many readers are already familiar with Myla and Lincoln. If you aren’t, don’t start with this book; you could, but why would you? With that being said, Myla and Lincoln are back in their early years and readers discover some missing elements of what shaped these young people into the bad@$$ adults they became. Myla never shirked a good fight and after she learns that Lady Reaper will be visiting Purgatory’s Annual Lust Festival, she plans to take care of business. Lincoln is approaching his eighteenth year and he has many obligations being a part-angel prince. During a mission, he discovers his best friend might be hiding secrets from him and the adventure just flows from there.

Lady Reaper is a prequel novella for the book Reaper Games. This is also the tenth book in the Angelbound Origins series. This series is a spin-off of the Angelbound series and the Angelbound Offspring series. I have read all these books in publication order and it does take some time to keep characters straight, but I enjoy going back in time and learning new nuggets about characters I have been following across so many stories. This is short and will feel like a teaser to many, but hopefully, when we get Reaper Games, we will fully understand the task at hand.

This novella was the definition of short and sweet. I loved how the author has you wondering what will happen next even in such a small book. A lot of the parts where the past 9 books were explained seemed pretty repetitive at times. For example, I don't think Myla's mom's appearance needed to be discussed multiple times in the book. I think it would have flowed better without a lot of it. I also felt the ending was pretty abrupt and could have been tied up better to lead into the next one. I was taken by surprise with the moral in the end. It just didn't feel the same as the books before it. However, I did like this novella and am looking forward to the next book in the series to find out what happens next to Myla and Lincoln!

This was a delightfully short read from the talented Christina Bauer.

We have both a young Lincoln and Myla meeting with the mysterious Lady Reaper and in the process having their minds wiped.

Both are aware that something of great import has transpired, but are unable to recall the details.

This was enough of a read to tide us over until Christina is back to full health and publish the next instalment. I for one, am looking forward to it already.

A novella length Angelbound book to tide us over until Ms Bauer has recuperated from Covid and can give us Reaper Games. But, just because it's short does not mean it is short on the action and adventures we are used to in a Christina Bauer book. It is definitely an excellent addition to the Angelbound library.

This short story has me waiting for the next book (Reaper Games). Lady Reaper has interesting non human characters. The plot is laid out nicely and beautifully set up for the next book. These characters are not familiar, other than the Grim Reaper, but has ghosts and ghouls that are named and have a purpose. I am looking forward to reading Reaper Games to learn more about these characters, especially with the ending in this one! Lady Reaper has no cussing, and no sex, so I think it would be good for ages 12+.

This was a really well done novella, it was what I've come to expect from Christina Bauer. It's always a good time reading these stories and does a wonderful job in creating a fantasy world. It set up the next book and I am so excited to see where this series will go. The characters were what I was hoping for and really had a great time getting back to them.

"Purgatory’s the sorting place for souls into Heaven or Hell, either with trial by jury or trial by combat. When it’s the second option, I’m one of the rare warriors who fight evil souls in our Arena. You’d think that’d make me popular in high school. Wrong. Turns out, nobody likes how I can snap a spine in three seconds or less."
