Such a touching and moving story that follows what it is like living in the outback and the small community nearly always band together. The romance that develops in the outback is so sweet.

Snowy Mountains Promise by Aussie author Alissa Callen is the third book in the Bundilla Novels series. I have enjoyed this series although in saying that this book would not be my least favourite in the series, but I am still looking forward to seeing what this author writes next.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for my digital copy to read and review.

Hettie Burbrook is an introvert, she flies her own light plane, she takes amazing photos, and she’s just been offered a deal for her pictures to be published in a coffee table book. She decides to visit her best friend from boarding school Brenna Lancaster, she lives in the Snowy Mountains and near a little town called Bundilla. The iconic countryside and landscape is breath taking and perfect place for Hettie to take rustic photos. Hettie has another reason for visiting Bundilla, she wants to solve a fifty year old mystery and possible crime.

Taite Lancaster is Brenna’s twin brother, the grumpy deer farmer is also a talented artist. Taite uses scrap metal and a welder and he creates incredible animal sculptures. Taite sees showing his feelings and emotions as a weakness, he’s one of Bundilla’s last available bachelors and he's happy being single. Hettie has had a crush on Taite for years, she assumes he’s not interested in her and maybe she’s wrong?

While visiting Glenwood Station, Hettie starts looking for clues into her great-uncle Elliot’s past, she had no idea he grew up in Bundilla and he left town under suspicious circumstances, it doesn’t take long for Hettie to get the message she’s sticking her nose in where it’s not wanted and it could be dangerous.

I received a copy of Snowy Mountains Promise by Alissa Callen from NetGalley and Harlequin Australia in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed learning more about Hettie and Taite and both characters have been mentioned in the two previous books in the popular Bundilla series. Hettie and Taite have lost love ones, you can understand why they prefer being on their own, don't like feeling vulnerable and avoid romantic relationships. Bundilla is full of well-meaning match makers, slowly the walls around Hettie and Taite’s hearts start to crumble and it's hard for him to resist her cute combination of red curly hair, fair skin and freckles.

Five stars from me, I devoured Alissa Callen’s latest novel and I like her wonderful descriptive writing style. Combine this with fascinating and compelling characters, being set in the picturesque Australian Snowy Mountains and the narrative is another page turner by Ms. Callen. I highly recommend reading all three books, Snowy Mountains Daughter, Snowy Mountains Cattleman and Snowy Mountains Promise.

For feel-good, Australian rural romance, it’s hard to go past Alissa Callen, and her latest book, Snowy Mountains Promise, delivers on that promise. This story brings readers back to the town of Bundilla, where matchmaking kelpie Bundy is once again on the job, this time bring together pilot, chiropractor and photographer Hettie Burbrook and Taite Lancaster, the man she’s loved since they were teenagers. There are plenty of challenges these two need to face on their way to a happy ever after, including solving a fifty year-old mystery involving Hettie’s beloved great uncle Elliott. The characters in this story are easy to love, but they’re real too. Even the town’s quilting club, hell-bent on finding a match for Taite, add richness to what is always an entertaining story. I can’t wait to read the next Bundilla book.

3.5★s

Hettie Burbrook had been devastated at her great-Uncle Elliot's cancer diagnosis and wanted to bring him peace before he died. Heading to the small town of Bundilla in her Cessna and using the cover story of photographs for her new book, Hettie was determined to find the answers for Elliot that he didn't know he needed. Staying with her good friend Brenna in the homestead, with her twin, deer farmer Taite Lancaster nearby in his cottage, Hettie knew once again that her feelings for Taite hadn't changed. But could they work their future out before it was too late?

Hettie's searching, along with Brenna and Taite's help, uncovered long ago events which still hadn't been solved. And when Hettie came too close to resolving the past, danger in the form of revenge, followed her. But would she find the answers for Elliot?

Snowy Mountains Promise is the 3rd in the Bundilla Novels by Aussie author Alissa Callen, and although I was really looking forward to reading this one, I was a little disappointed. With great, endearing characters, Brenna, Hettie and Taite, plus Bundy and Rebel holding stand-out roles, it looked like another 5 star read. But the "on again, off again" "back and forth" relationship angst between the two main characters was overdone in my opinion. I've always enjoyed Ms Callen's writing and look forward to the next in the series. Hopefully the lapse will be in the past. Recommended to fans of Rural Romance.

Alissa Callen has written a third book in the Snowy Mountain series and knows how to give her readers what they have come to love!
We return to Bundilla, Bundy the much loved town dog and the main characters, Taite and Hettie!
I loved the characters, they feel like friends and bring their emotions, experiences and life stories to ‘reality’. Every character has their own part to play within the storyline.
Hettie is a pilot, amongst her other interests, her friend Brenna is Taite’s twin. Brenna needs Hattie’s help, a visit brings her close to Taite as well.
The story is descriptive and beautifully written, I particularly enjoy Bundy’s connections to those that he supports!

Huge thanks to Harlequin AU, NetGalley and the amazing Alissa Callen for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am loving this series, Alissa Callen knows how to pull her readers into the lives of the characters, find their vulnerabilities, their strengths and bring them to life on the pages, to make them friends to the readers, I savour every word in her stories and being back in the beautiful book town of Bundilla with Bundy the dog was fabulous, come along and get to know Taite and Hettie.

Hettie Burbrook is a pilot, chiropractor and a photographer and is happy at this stage, single, she lives in Woodlea but her best friend Brenna lives in Bundilla, her dearest uncle is unwell and Hettie learns a little about his past and is determined to help him and this will mean a trip to visit her friend Brenna, but of course this will bring her close to Taite, someone who holds a special place in her heart.

Taite Lancaster is one of the most eligible bachelors in Bundilla and he steers well clear of matchmakers, he is a deer farmer and fabulous sculptor. With everything that happened to his father Taite will never let his feelings take over, he loves his twin Brenna and has lots of friends but when Hettie arrives in town he knows that she is here for a reason and he will help but will that bring him closer to her and start to break down the walls he has built around his heart?

Bundilla is a busy town in winter, there are the dog races, the ute muster and the upcoming winter ball, a trip in the snow together and the long buried scandal that will put Hettie in danger brings them closer together, can Taite put his vulnerabilities behind him and let his emotions out to find the love that he deserves with Hettie, she truly is the best person for Taite, Hettie has had things to get over from her past as well and now she is ready to love and to share the happiness that they both deserve.

I do highly recommend this book and the series, my visits to Bundilla are always the best this is a beautifully told story and spending time with Bundy, who knows who needs his support is always so good, and catching up with friends from previous books, who will Bundy be with next? I loved this story so very much thank you MS Callen for another keeper.

My thanks Harlequin AU for my copy to read and review.

Another fantastic story by Alissa Callen set in the Snowy Mountains. This story centres on Hettie and Taite and the attraction that they have denied for many years. They both have emotional baggage from their younger years that has them keeping up a protective wall. They are brought together when Hettie comes to Bundilla to try and find peace for her Great-Uncle Elliot who grew up in the town and was chased out of town by scandal.
The secondary story of Elliot is really interesting and keeps the intensity of the story building.

As usual I loved the scenery descriptions and the characters that are included - both 2 and 4 legged! I can't wait to see what is in store for Brenna in the next book!!

Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.

I wasn’t aware this was the third book of A Bundilla Novel series until I had finished it. It stands alone really well, however I can’t wait to go back and read the two books prior.
Snowy Mountain Promise follows Hattie on her mission to solve a small-town scandal involving her uncle, while trying to deal with her emotions of being close to the man she has loved since she was a teenager.
A beautiful heart-warming novel about healing, love, friendship and family. I fell in love with all the characters and their bonds with family and friends. I enjoyed the humour throughout and the beautiful descriptions of the Snowy Mountain scenery.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Harlequin Australia as I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

We're back in Bundilla again in the next novel from Alissa Callen. This time it's the story of Taite and Hettie. If you've read the first two set in Bundilla, Taite is the twin brother of Brenna and Hettie was good friends with Brenna when they were at boarding school. Hettie is also from Woodlea, where Alissa Callen's other books are set.
Both Hettie and Taite have been in love with each other since she visited when she was grieving and they shared a kiss on the riverbank. Since then they've been avoiding each other whenever she was staying with Brenna.
This story has the typical elements of a rural romance-family secrets and local characters. This one does focus a lot less on the farming elements as the main characters aren't traditional farmers (he is a deer farmer/sculptor and she is a flying chiropractor). It is very much a slow burn and the story only includes some brief kisses so don't expect much steamy action.
It is an enjoyable read if you can handle the slow unravelling but it's not my favourite of her books.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Harlequin Mira for my complimentary eARC copy.

I hadn't heard of this author before picing up this book, but I am always interested to find new authors who write in the genre of Australian fiction and/or romance.

This is not, however, an Australian romance, but rather an incredibly slow women's fiction novel with romantic elements.

The dialogue is very heavily focused on the food that the characters are eating, and on the conversations between the main character and his dog.

The setting was the real let down for me, I wish that the author had researched small town rural Australia to give the novel some authenticity.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Snowy Mountains Promise by author Alissa Callen is a slow burn read focussing on multiple characters with divergent story arcs that gel together. Hettie and Tait are likeable personas and Brenna's character is a total stand out. Bundy stole the show at every turn, and Rebel was a notible mention. Some tiwsts and turns in the story that, overall, was a slow moving story to reach its conclusion.
