This book had me hooked from the get-go with its compelling characters and their complex relationships. Michaels has a way of writing that makes you feel like you're right there with them, experiencing every twist and turn of their journey.

What I loved most was the authenticity of the emotions portrayed. From the heartache of unrequited love to the thrill of unexpected romance, every feeling is raw and real, leaving you rooting for the characters to find their happily ever after.

The pacing was spot-on, keeping me turning the pages late into the night, eager to see what would happen next. And let me tell you, the chemistry between the main characters? Off the charts!

If I had one tiny gripe, it's that I wish the ending had a bit more closure. But hey, maybe that's just me being greedy and not wanting to say goodbye to these characters!

Overall, "Pining for You" is a must-read for anyone who loves a good love story with plenty of heart and soul. Grab a box of tissues and get ready for a rollercoaster ride of emotions that'll stay with you long after you've turned the last page.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Skylar and Rhett. Skylar is a waitress and a college student. Rhett is the mayor and father to Addison. There is an instant attraction. When they meet Rhett is very interested in Skylar when he finds out she is studying to be a teacher. He needs a governess for his daughter. He offers Skylar a lot of money and rent free accommodations. She accepts. The more he learns about Skylar the more he desires her. He has some issues of trust but realizes he loves her. She loves him too.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

I love Lydia Michaels books!! This is the first I've read in this series and I love getting back into the crazy McCullough family dynamics and seeing a new generation. Skylar is the perfect child in everyone's eyes... no-one, apart from Rhett, sees her as the capable adult that she is! Only disappointing part of this story is Colin. As much as I disliked Erin, I am keen to read her story.

This was a very middle-of-the-road book for me. But I do know people I can recommend this book to that will love and enjoy it.

I loved the small town vibes of this story. The nanny aspect is so fun in every romance and especially in this one. The single dad energy too ugh love. It was such fun festive romance, although it was slow at first to get into. thank you netgalley for the e arc.

I was very intrigued by this book - nanny/boy, age-gap, Christmas- what is there not to like right? Well I really loved the Christmas flair the book had. The characters were also likeable which added a lot to the overall story. I mostly liked Skylar because she was very relatable. I also enjoyed the interactions between the characters. However, I found there to be a lot of unnecessary elements that were added to the story which made it a very slow read for me. I think I might have enjoyed the book a bit more had I read the other books in the series, mostly during the family scenes. It certainly was a nice read nonetheless and I would recommend it to get into the Christmas spirit.

Lydia Michaels has scored holiday gold with her latest lovable fourth romance set in the Jasper Falls series. The story introduces Skylar Marcelli and Rhett Buchanan. From the very beginning of these two character's meeting the chemistry drives the story. If you are looking form a heartwarming holiday read this book will be for you.

This is my first book by this author, so I am still up in the air about this book. I didn't hate it but felt it lacked more character development. Maybe I need to read another book by Michaels. and go from there, I am not ready to give up. What I did love about it, was the small town, big family and all the holiday joy. Being part of big family really makes you grow up fast so much so that you forget to be a kid. I felt like Skylar missed that and jumped at what she believed to be love, too fast.

Skylar lives in a small-town Jasper Falls where everyone knows your business, but she is used to it. Hack, her family makes up most of the town. But she has dreams of getting a degree and opening a preschool in her hometown. But to do this she needs money and fast, so when a job of a Nanny falls in her lap, she takes it. But what she doesn't except to happen is to fall for her boss and his daughter. To make matters worse he is the mayor of the town. Does he have the same feelings, or does he just love the care she gives his daughter. His heart is guarded, something or someone hurt him. Can she break down the walls he spent a lifetime building or will she just have to face the fact that she was wrong about him.

Thank you to NetGalley and Valentine PR & Literary for copy of this book for my honest review.

I could barely get past the first 25% of this book… sooooo much description I wanted to bang the book against my head. I kind of checked out after that.

Pining for You by Lydia Michaels is quite a steamy small town, age gap, employer/employee romance, and it was the perfect book to finish my holiday reading this year. I had not read any other books by Ms. Michaels, but will put her name on my list of requests when I am in the mood for a good spicy romance.

I liked the extended family and the author's description of the family dinner that begins the book. It gave me a homey feeling, and I empathized with Skylar from the very beginning. Rhett was described as very good looking, and who doesn't love a hard-working single dad--I certainly fell for him almost immediately.

Unpredictable, this book is not...it was not hard to figure out exactly what was going to take place, but the journey was certainly a fun read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Valentine PR and Literary Managment for the digital copy of Pining for You. The opinions in this review are my own.

Sadly, this book was not for me. Holiday romance is often my sweet spot, which is why I picked this one up, but I struggled to get past the overt and the subtle chauvinistic language throughout the story. While the writer could, with reasonably good results, provide explanations for the behavior and attitudes of the older men in the protagonist's life, I struggled most with her romantic figure. In both public and private moments, his behavior scraped my nerves nearly every time; the deep dive into his background came too late in the story and was too divided from even the reminders of his caring side. I stuck with it reluctantly, and the ending would have been satisfying had I not been so alienated in the middle of the story.

I really wish I had liked this book.

I almost did not finish this one out of sheer frustration from the bombardment of characters in the first few pages, but I have loved the written works of this writer before, so I continued on. I am glad to say that while it started off slow and tedious ,it improved once the focus shifted primarily to the main character. Skylar was an ambitious woman who knew what she wanted, but got bogged down in the minutiae of her family's perceived financial situation and neglected herself in favor of taking care of them. When the golden opportunity practically fell in her lap, she seized it and was doing well until outside forces intervened. I admire her for the way she handled the intruders with restraint but was still able to get her feelings and points across .I am still not sure that Rhett was worthy of her but the kid was adorable and worth sacrificing for. This book shows how much influence and weight our past experiences have on our present and how there really is no one way to interpret situations and circumstances. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and recommend this one if you have no aversions to encountering multiple characters .I also would recommend reading the "McCullough Mountain "series before reaching for this one. This book was an ARC from Netgalley and my review is completely my own.

This was a delightful Christmas romance! I found the heroine to be really relatable and even though there wasn’t a lot of steam, it was still delicious. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

This book was absolutely not for me.

I liked the setting, the Christmas vibes, and the large family (I always wanted a large family). Sadly that is where it ends for me.

This is a nanny/boss age gap romance (she is 21, he is 36) and while I don't usually mind an age gap, this was icky to me as she was clearly inexperienced while he is controlling. There was next to no chemistry, yet they still slept together incredibly early in the book, there was no development of feelings or a relationship first.

So, a big no for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Pining for You is the fourth book in the Jasper Falls series. This is spin-off series of McCullough Mountain. You'll see lots of the crazy family and some of the stories follow the grown up children from that series. This is Skylars story.

Skylar is used to the craziness that is her family as the eldest female grandchild of the McCullough branch she's seen her fair share of cousins come into the world. Now as she far approaches getting her Associates degree she's ready to do something just for her. This comes about in a completly unexpected way when she finds herself offered a position as a nanny to the towns mayor.
Rhett Buchanan is determined to make his mark on the town of Jasper Falls. One big obstacle is his inability to keep a nanny. Then Skylar practically falls into his lap and his daughter is taken with her in a way she's not connected with any of the others. Now Rhett just has to figure out how to keep his attraction under control as even though Skylar is an adult, the age difference and her being an employee is unseemly. Yet is it inevitable that the draw is there because they are meant to be together? And can they withstand the gossip and potential scandal to find a love that can last?

Pining for you is a book I very much enjoyed in everything. I liked the plot, the spice, the love story, the characters and its semplicity because I pretty much devoured it. There was that familiarity and christmas air that was really comforting. There is the age gap (that doesn’t weigh too much) and a background story and single-dad trope and old couples showing love (I mean who doesn’t melt to this).
I really recommend this if you’re looking for something quite short and cute and about christmas period. It’s 4,5⭐️ for me
