This was such a fun book. I am a big fan of Melissa Ferguson’s books, so I was so excited to read this one! I loved how this book showed social media addiction and the damage that it can do. Sometimes you don’t realize how addicted you are until you take a step back. I can see this book being turned into a Hallmark movie! I really enjoyed all the characters in this book, especially the main character. If you’re looking for a fun and easy read, I recommend checking this one out! I finished this one in two days, it was so good, I couldn’t put it down!

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. It reminded me of a movie I saw recently where a woman/influencer needed to get away from her famous life. I don’t recall the name but I didn’t feel like I connected with the character. Definitely still a cute and quick read with relatable content. It was interesting to read about the life of an influencer from the author’s perspective. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a quick and light read.

This book was a super cute romcom. My favorite thing about romcoms is you can usually expect a HEA and this one delivers. I loved that the FMC was an influencer and how glamorous her life was. Overall a super cute, quick read

Book 106 of 200

🌟🌟🌟💫

I enjoy books by Melissa. They are always filled with wit and I have fun going through the stories.

Not usually my kind of read but I do make exceptions for certain authors of the genre and she is one of them.

You of course kinda can figure out the ending but it is the journey there that matters.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and ebook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

*Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

3.5 stars.

This was a cute, low drama, contemporary fiction story about a woman moving away from the big city to escape all the gossiping and rumours about her. It's about acceptance, and realising that growing older is kinda alright (it's great tbh).
I would not say that this is a romance, though there's a little bit of a hint of that, and there's a nice ending. No, this is a book about Cat, and the new people she meets in Montana. It was light and fluffy, and I enjoyed myself. I'll definitely try out any of the authors other books.
I also tried out the audio (on Scribd, not from Netgalley) and it was really good.

Let me just start by saying that so far this year I haven’t read an unputdownable book, this is the first ❤️‍🔥

So I’m practically glowing after I finished it. Because it’s not your typical story of a dumb influencer who is stuck in a ranch in the middle of nowhere, Montana. Cat is an influencer yes, but she is kind and thoughtful and aware of other people’s and her own struggles. I loved her right away, mistakes and all.

And the Zaiah, who is the epitome of a gentleman. He was never grumpy or judgemental even though he had all rights to be. He was so kind and thoughtful that he had me swooning right away and he hadn’t even saved Cat from a moose yet 🥲

And then we have a bunch of wonderful, perfect secondary characters that made the book a hundred times better: Uncle Terry and Serena and Mina and Kevin, Jax, Penny and never ever leave Mark out because; queen, it’s so refreshingly wonderful to get such a normalized take on people with mobility issues! Amen to more stories bringing everyone to the equation and truly turning the book world into an inclusive world.

So READ THIS. If you want to have a great time, that is.

Melissa Ferguson wrote a wonderful story with beautiful well developed, interesting characters in her novel Famous for a Living. It was a relatively quick read and one I truly enjoyed.

The story unfolds with Cat, a vibrant social media influencer accustomed to the glitz and glamour of the online world, where every moment is a photo opportunity, and follower count is the currency. Enter Zaiah, a character living a life far removed from the cacophony of social media.

The way the author paints the initial encounters between these polar opposites is both charming and relatable, setting a dance of attraction in motion. The dialogues are witty and sharp, revealing the characters’ depths layer by layer, allowing readers to experience their growth and transformation. Cat learns a lot about herself and what social media can really be like.

A sweet romcom that is sure to delight!

This was a great book, by Melissa Fergusson. I enjoyed this advacned copy from Netgalley. The cover is cute, and love that Cat had to reconnect with her Uncle and escape to Montana.

Thanks to NetGalley for the complimentary ebook to read and review.

This was a fun rom com that had aspects of a Hallmark movie. It was a fairly quick read that I mostly enjoyed. I felt it had fluff that wasn’t necessary and could have been left out. Overall it was an ok read not one that will stick with me.

Another fun story from Melissa Ferguson! Loved the idea of a social media star getting stuck in Montana! And the romance was just swoony (per the norm for a Ferguson book!)

Thank you Libro.fm and Thomas Nelson for the gifted book! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Cat Cranwell's life is picture perfect. She's Insta-famous and on the cusp of launching a new business venture that will open even more doors for her. Until her business partner is accused of serious financial crimes, bringing her down with him. To get out from under the microscope of the public's attention, Cat accepts her uncle's offer to work with him in Kannery National Park, Montana.

Now Cat is off grid, almost literally. And she is having to learn to live in the moment instead of staging each moment. Along the way she makes new friends, discovers new parts of herself, and begins falling for the old school park ranger with the handsome face. Will she fall in love with a life and a man opposite of all she has been working for?
-----

This cover and release date are deceiving. This book is set during the winter, not summer. And that's not the only thing deceiving about it. This was marketed as a rom com but it is a women's fiction book with a romance side story.

Those two failings aside, I think if you go into this book with the correct expectations it has an interesting premise and fun characters that make it an enjoyable read. I really appreciated how the topic of social media addiction was handled and how it wasn't a black and white issue because it's not in real life either. The side characters in this one make the book for me. They are quirky and charming and oh so endearing. I wouldn't mind a spin off for a few of them. All in all a good read.

"Famous for a Living" by Melissa Ferguson is an incredibly charming and heartwarming romantic comedy that is sure to leave you with a smile on your face. With an engaging plot, relatable characters, and a healthy dose of humor, this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a feel-good read.

The story follows Cat Cranwell, an Insta-famous influencer who falls from grace when her business partner is accused of serious financial crimes. Desperate to escape the scrutiny of the online world, Cat accepts an offer to work in Kannery National Park, Montana, where she meets Zaiah, a ruggedly handsome park ranger who hates anything remotely connected to social media.

As Cat adjusts to her new life in the wilderness, she begins to discover the most honest parts of herself and starts to ask the hard questions about what truly matters in life. Along the way, she also finds herself falling for Zaiah, despite their vastly different lifestyles and opinions.

Ferguson's writing style is engaging and witty, making the book a quick and enjoyable read. The characters are well-developed and easy to relate to, especially Cat, who is both flawed and endearing. The romance between Cat and Zaiah is sweet and heartwarming, and the tension between their differing lifestyles adds an extra layer of depth to the story.

Overall, "Famous for a Living" is a delightful read that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies or is looking for an uplifting story about the power of love and self-discovery.

Was unable to read this title because of the horrible page setting and layout and sent multiple emails and notifications to NetGalley but nothing came of it.

Sure its'a great read but I would not know sadly - my review copy did not work.

This was a light-hearted romcom full of likeable characters. The plot reminded me of a Hallmark movie!

This was a fun read! I do wish the cover was more geared towards winter/snow, as this was the premise of the book. But I also understand the book was released in Spring, which wouldn't be conducive for a wintry cover. Fun and sweet book. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review it!

This was a nice feel good story! It was a quick read for me. I liked the take on the influencer lifestyle and how easy it is to become addicted to social media. The Montana setting was the perfect touch. It was a slow burn, but had great depth.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC
