Thank you to Caroline Kepnes, NetGalley and Atria Books for the chance to read this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I haven't had a chance to read book #3, but I have read the rest. This book was my least favourite so far, it fell very flat for me. I felt that it didn't have enough suspense and a lot of it was easy to guess what would happen next. I didn't find any shock value in it, and I was not too fond of his and Wonder's relationship. I did like certain aspects of the book, but the way Joe's voice comes through the text is still the best thing about these books. The way he continues to get himself into messes. I was just expecting more
His relationship with Love and Beck were way better than this one. This one was so back and forth, back and forth, super toxic and it just didn't make me root for them. I found no joy in their relationship. The whole thing with Sarah Beth was the same thing, it didn't make sense that they kept each others secrets.
I found it hard to get through the last 100 pages and I was very disappointed with the ending.

This was a difficult book to score because I love this series and the compelling narrative style, but this one didn't leave the impact with me the others did. I never once felt connected to Joe's love story with Hope. In the past, I felt like I was given reasons to understand Joe's interest in the girl. This time, I didn't feel like that magic was ever there. I kept asking myself why he was obsessed with her and why he felt like she would be a good match. Something was missing. There was also a lack of WTF moments, which every other entry has had for me. But FYAOY never gave me a single scene that dropped my jaw. The lack of connection to the previous stories also left me feeling cheated; I wanted more of a continuation between books but there's nothing involving the characters still alive after You Love Me. Some light mentions but nothing else. With the way this one ended, I hope we actually get a continuation next time instead of just another new girl set up. Disappointments aside, this is still wonderfully written and engaging. It's always cool getting inside Joe's head, even if sometimes it feels a bit forced.

I felt like this was my least favorite in the series so far, but it’s NOT the writing… it’s just the build up of knowing how amazing JOE IS! I’m wondering the whole time how Kepnes will top her last book in the You series. It’s still a 4.5 star read!!! I’m not going to tell anyone NOT TO READ IT! Let’s face it—- Joe is sexy as hell. We want Joe to step it up and change (please don’t change) because he’s a bad boy but so brilliant!!
Wonder— girl I need you to stop taking care of your dad and put the coffee down! But really!!! I wanted Wonder Woman to give some witty comebacks!!!!
I love how Joe is still better than everyone around him. He’s such an amazing character! How did we get SO LUCKY TO READ THESE CREATIONS?!

Could NOT put this book down! Caroline Kepnes does it again! Joe Goldberg is probably one of the most fascinating characters in modern day literary works. 5 stars for this read and can’t wait to publish a more thorough review on Amazon! Thanks for the ARC!

Joe... it's you, not me! This time around Joe is in Harvard! Hello professor Joe! Well not really... Joe is at Harvard for a writers program. He is starting fresh in a new life and all he wants is to complete this program and become a famous writer. His new life starts off amazing until about the time it takes him to meet her. I won't say who her is but we all know by now how intense Joe is with a female he wants in his life. As for the writing program He is immediately taken under a very famous writer wing. What's that saying though "never meet your idol"... Overall I really enjoyed another adventure from Joe Goldburg. I love that I couldn't predict what he was going to do next. I truly think everyone will really enjoy this book.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early in exchange for my honest review.

It seem like yesterday when I read the first You book, and here we are on the 4th book. And Joe doesn’t disappoint even if he is the bad guy of his story. It’s still hard to not want to like him or root for him to get kinda a happy ending.
I love the throw backs to the OG You book.
Once again thanks for allowing me to read this ARC NetGalley.

For You and Only You is the fourth book in a series. I think it could be read as a standalone but it would be better if you read the other books first to know how truly twisted Joe is! This time Joe is part of a writing fellowship at Harvard - writing books instead of selling them which is his usual job. A lot of the people who are part of this group have already achieved some success as writers and they love to tell people about it. Joe even meets Wonder who shares a lot of his interests and ideas about writing. But when people do anything to hurt Wonder's feelings you know what's going to happen! Joe becomes more and more wicked with every book!

This was a doozy! 4th in a series which has been adapted by Netflix. I have watched all of the seasons of the show but it was my first time reading the novel and it seems there is a gap in characters/story from the tv show, which is understandable.
So, the book starts with Joe joining an Ivy League writing Fellowship and meeting Wonder. First off, I gave a pass on his former interest being named Love (not really a name), but Wonder also?? Yikes.
Anyway, she is your typical hot Bostonian who works at a Dunkin’ Donuts and has an Ivy League writing fellowship, and is surprisingly unambitious... yeah, that’s the character. Like the previous marks of Joe‘s obsession, she is likable and naïve and endearing.
Joe is still… Joe. A Pendantic, cerebral, narcissistic, savior-complex having serial killer who believes he is just helping bad people “get what’s coming to them”. He can magically justify any of his murders. I do not want to spoil the plot & kills, but will say that I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to fans of the show.
I would also recommend that fans of this series and style of writing read “Perfect days” by Raphael Montes.

Joe Goldberg is at it again. This time he is in love with Wonder , a fellow student in his Harvard writing class. As usual, he has people getting in the way of his love . The worst is a writer, who is also a psychopath, that learns all of Joe's dark secrets. Lots of writers words, nice shout out to GoodReads. I think in this book, Joe has mellowed a bit of gas he.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

I can't believe there's a fourth book in this series, but I have to admit I enjoyed it! Even though I know Joe is a bad guy/murderer and we're not really supposed to root for him, this one made me really want him to finally find someone to be with and change his ways. Besides the first book, this one might be my favorite out of all of the books.

Caroline Kepnes has done it again with this 4th book in the “you” series. I absolutely loved this book. She is one of my all time favorite authors. This book was just amazing. Joe was extremely creepy at times and how he gets so obsessive with the women he dates is alarming but that makes the series so great and very interesting!! Best book and best series I have ever read. This one is easily 5/5 stars for me.

Not my favorite YOU novel. I was bored the first 20% of the book. I had to take breaks in reading, so I wouldn't DNF the book. It started picking up once Joe got murder on his mind and started killing. Joe's rambling goes on forever. I think the book would've been better if the author cut back from pages of rambling. Overall, an ok read. I don't think I would read it again.

Sharp and witty. Caroline Kepnes’ Joe entertains once again. In this fourth installment of the “You” series, Joe meets Wonder during his first class as a member of a writing fellowship at Harvard. He despises his other peers, but of course he immediately connects with Wonder.
The snark is reminiscent of the first “You” book, so if you liked that one, I have a feeling you’ll like this one. So, pull on your sweater vest and dig out your old ball cap and hit the streets of Cambridge with Joe.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read and review For You and Only You. Joe is a very entertaining antihero and I thoroughly enjoyed his commentary about his writer peers. It gets 4/5 from me.

Joe is a character I have loved but I think at this point I’m finished with him. There isn’t much left for him to say or do at this point and his repeated obsessions and patterns have lost their initial shock and awe. I didn’t find any of the other characters in the book exciting or even interesting. I loved the first and second book, but not as much the last two. Others may still find him intriguing so I’d encourage fans to read this current installment.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I think it’s time to hang Joe up!
With this being the fourth installment, they continue to get repetitive and boring.
I love Joe and I loved You, Hidden Bodies has always been my least favorite but I do think it’s time to let Joe go. This book had so much potential and then it just fell off.
But I will never not love Joe and will continue to read whatever wicked ride he takes us on.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback. I was excited to read this book since I am a huge You fan. This book I found to be slower than the other ones. I usually listen to them on audiobook, while I read this one as an ebook which may be a difference. However, it was an overall good story of Joe and all he gets himself into.

I am never disappointed with each book in this series. Joe is always perfectly creepy. Always immaculately written. Cannot wait for more! Many thanks to NetGalley for the arc!

Thank you to the publisher for this copy, all opinions are my own. For me this was a let down. I’ve read Caroline’s previous books in this series and was immediately hooked. I couldn’t get enough, but For you and only you left me tired of Joe. While nothing regarding Joe changed I wonder if to much of a good thing. I was bored and really couldn’t get into this book as I did on her previous one. Am I over Joe? I’m not sure, but this certainly wasn’t the story for me.

This is my lest favorite book in the series. I loved the first two and the last two were just ok. Overall I will continue reading the series and find out what Joe is getting into next.

Star Explanation: I give books a 3 when it was just all right and I wouldn't necessary tell all of my friends about it
First off I have to say I am relatively sure I'm completely over Joe Goldberg.. I was one of those people that was like "why am I strangely attracted to Joe" (yes I'm aware that means I need LOTS of therapy). Now I'm 100% on team Kill Joe Off. I'm aware that without Joe there is no story, so um....maybe it's time for him to bite the dust or get caught.
In terms of the writing I wasn't invested in the plot of this book at all. None of the characters were in the least bit likeable. Although I believe that is the whole point, you're not supposed to like anyone, but I needed someone to root for. I rooted for Beck, I rooted for Love before her true personality was revealed, I rooted for Joe (believe it or not) with his son. I admit I skipped You Love Me because I was already getting tired of the antics. But I thought, let me apply for an ARC and hopefully I'll be brought back into it.
The answer was no. Literally nothing happens in it. At least in the other ones there was a lot of action between Joe and his victims. In this one, it just felt stagnant. Joe's narcissism is almost too much for me to handle. I also didn't appreciate how Wonder was always being put down because she's a Goodreads reviewer. There is also constant talk about certain writing like thrillers or smutty romance not being "real writing". Or that those that write contemporary literature are somehow better than those who don't. If you've been on the book community side of TikTok you will absolutely understand why I didn't like this. Romance counts just as much as the classics.
While I wasn't a fan of the story overall, I can absolutely recognize that the prose is absolutely beautiful. If you are into books that you need to think deeply about everything that is written, you will love this one. I believe that might be why I didn't like it as much as her other novels. Her other novels were more suspenseful and the psychology of the characters was explored much more. This one leans way more philosophical and I just didn't jive with it.
