Joe Goldberg is back and has written a book! Our favorite serial killer and book lover has given up selling books and now has written a novel. Joe has been accepted into a writing residency at Harvard with one of his favorite writers, Glen Shoddy. Glen is your typical pretentious professor who lives for people to notice him and who hides behind a more talented spouse. As a writer myself, I was interested in the writing residency and the people who attended, but mostly wanted to see who Joe would obsess over and stalk. Sure enough,, on the first day of residency he meets Wonder, a woman who works at Dunkin' Donuts and who like Joe doesn't quite fit in. I did enjoy Joe's initial conversations with Glen and the other writers and the name dropping of famous books and authors.
However, being a "Joe" book I was looking for some excitement and the constant writing talk became a little boring. Wonder was a dull character who was 35 but acted like a teenager and seemed way too boring to actually write a great book. The author makes it seem like writers are all kind of crazy and obsessed and they talk about writing 24 hours a day. She also put in some digs about Goodreads and insulted people who take the time to write reviews and I found it kind of off-putting. There are a couple of murders in the book and Joe is his usual obsessed and rambling self, but the majority of the book seemed to be about Joe and Wonder talking about their novels. I actually found myself counting how many pages were left because I was getting tired of reading about their novels which we are readers didn't actually read. The ending made sense to me and as always I am looking forward to where Joe will go with his life but this was not a favorite of mine. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this ARC in exchange for a review.

Joe Goldberg is back in For You and Only You and is taking on the world of higher education at Harvard. He finds himself drawn to Wonder, the other autodidact (I love that this book taught me this word!) in the fellowship of writers. Joe does slip up a few times, misreading situations and I found myself surprised. Usually he is a little more on top of things but these instances gave some extra drama for Joe to deal with.
I enjoyed Joe joining along with other writers in Harvard and really like the "friendship", for lack of a better description, that ended up forging with one of the other fellows in the end.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group- Random House and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I have really enjoyed this series of books! I hope this isn’t the end of them. I would definitely recommend this book!

Oh Joe Goldberg. He’s back and he’s ready to take on the world. Get ready for this rollercoaster that will make you scream as you inch closer to the answers but it will take your breath away as it unravels many more twists and turns along it’s journey,
Reading this book felt like there were a thousand words packed onto a page. The storyintense but such an easy read. When I realized the book was almost finished I was sad. As far as the Joe Goldberg series go I felt the last three books were merely the set up leading to this, the fourth in the series,
This novel has several new characters but it doesn’t take long before many references are made about characters from the previous books, reminding us why we love to hate Joe. He.s a brilliant mastermind but a serial killer too.
I think this was the strongest of the four in the series and I am already excited at the prospect of a fifth. Well written and well played Joe.

Thank you NetGalley, Random House Publishing and Caroline Kepnes for a copy of this ARC. I have to say I was super excited to read this one. I’ve really enjoyed the You series. With that being said, I’d give this book 3.5 stars.
I loved the setting. Joe in Cambridge at Harvard University. It was the perfect setting.
Overall, I enjoyed the storyline and the relationship Joe established with his fellow Shoddies. I thought what happened with S.B. was a little weak and what happened in the Dead Shed could have been held over Joe’s head a little bit more. We’ve all seen how Joe is used to getting what he wants in the past, yet, besides a few small attempts, he didn’t really go after what he needed from the Dead Shed.
It was entertaining to get lost in the nonsense that goes on in Joe’s head, but I found myself having to read some paragraphs a few times because I was confused on the references.
Overall I enjoyed it, but I have to say, I won’t be drinking any kool-aid or Coolattas any time I soon.

This latest book by Caroline Kepnes is book #4 in this series. I have not read the other 3 books before this one and I don’t know if it’s because of that, I just did not “get” this book at all. I tried, I really did and I just got lost with all the characters … etc. This is my first DNF of 2023. Just couldn’t finish it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release. To be published April 2023.

Oh we meet again Joe Goldberg, I’ve miss you so! You is my favorite delicious guilt pleasure series.
Joe Goldberg is back and he’s heading to Harvard with a full ride. He’s written a novel and will be attending the writers workshop in hopes to get his bool published. He’s among Ivy League students, some with published books and all with degrees, except for another classmate who doesn’t fit the mold of Harvard. Immediately Joe is mesmerized and has found his real soul mate. She reads, writes(reviews on goodreads) and too lacks a college degree. Joes turns on the charm to do anything to get close to her.
The book began to pick up for me around halfway into the plot. Though the story had the same elements and lay out of the stories, it’s worth your time.
That’s being said, this is my least favorite of You series.
My critiques are Joe lacks character depth and is plot is relatively the same as the others preview and there are mild changes I felt weren’t natural for Goldberg. Felt off for me. I was expecting more and I know the author can do more and better with the plot. She’s a talented increíble writer.
You will be left with wanting more, and the lack luster ending gives encouragement that there will be another upcoming adventure of Joe Goldberg.
I’m already looking forward for the next read.
I teach elementary age students which is why I can’t recommend this series to students, however I’ve recommended to some moms and they have fallen under Goldberg’s spell. It’s been fun to discuss the series.

Been following the "YOU" series sincethe beginning and LOVE Joe and most of the other characters, along with the storyline! Although VERY different from the Netflix series, comparing the two has been an awesome ride so far and Joe has kept true to himself in both.
The 4th book in this installment had me saddened that this would be the last and final book of the series. I still loved Joe but the lack of character development had me wanting more. It took a few chapters to get back to getting used to the author's writing style, and the constant processing of Joe's rapid fire thoughts, but if you've read the previous three books in the series, that is how the books are all written and goes along with the series theme. However this one took a bit longer to pick up. The love interest in this one was definitely no Beck or Love. Wonder seemed very juvenile for Joe's taste and neither character seemed to flourish throughout the book's entirety. The chemistry was just not there whatsoever. There are a very select few twists where I was unable to put the book down for at least a few pages, but overall the best part was the ending, which leaves opportunity for Joe's story to continue. As much as I wouklld enjoy the story to go on forever, there has to be something huge and major in Joe's life to spike interest again. I'm hoping the next season of the Netflix series can shed some light for the story to go on!

Kepnes knocks it out of the ballpark with her latest Joe Goldberg novel.. As a longtime fan I was thrilled with this installment, and it's wink and a nod to the lifestyle of writers. I have already recommended the book on the literary podcast (That I host), Vox Vomitus.

I have been a big fan of this series and was really excited to read this. This book however, was my least favorite of them all. The story was repetitive and not as thrilling as the previous books in this series. I still think these novels are great and I enjoy seeing what Joe is up to next. Fans of this series will still enjoy this one! I was just left wanting a little more from this one. Thank you for my copy!

Learning about Joe's life as a Harvard writing fellow. Can he stop his old habits or will they get the best of him? Joe tends to do anything in the name of what he calls love. This book kept me guessing will Joe turn over a new leaf or just go back to his old habits. The author really draws you into the life of Joe and makes you think twice about how you can and can't trust. Good read and fast pace, I couldn't stop once I started reading it.

So here's a full blown thoughts about this book. Before and after thoughts.
Before reading thoughts: blurb was what caught my eye and looked instering to read. Maybe a 4 star book. Had me thinking of the show you. Cover unsure about .
After reading thoughts: still like the blurb because it catches my eye. Don't really think the cover fits the book. Kept me pulled into it. Couldn't put it down. Highly recommend this book and already told a few people that they need to read it. 5 star book.

For You and Only You is the 4th novel in the You series and when I got this ARC, I about went through the roof. I love Joe. I loved his character in the first book, just how calculating and one step ahead he seemed to be.
However, for me, I felt that we lost that Joe by the end of the second book and I'm waiting for him to come back.
Don't get me wrong, Joe still pines for a single woman and kills people for her. But this one, similar to You Love Me, felt like it dragged for the first half of the book. The apple of Joe's eye in this book is Wonder Parish, a fellow....fellow? at Harvard where they're enrolled in a writing fellowship course. I liked Wonder a bit more than Mary Kay from the previous book, but she still felt flat to me. I felt that we had a missed opportunity with Joe being in Florida, it was mebtioned briefly here and there, but I would have loved a story of him in Florida up to his usual serial killer shenanigans.
Did I love this novel? No. Will I read the next one and be just as ecstatic to read an ARC in the future? Absolutely.
I want to thank the publishers and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you thank you thank you!

I love all of Kepnes' previous books and I have liked the Joe Goldberg character and story. This book, however, is so crazy that the stream of consciousness writing style was difficult for me to handle. I found myself putting it down multiple times and it was a chore to read it. For me, it was unlike her previous novels which were entertaining while funny and disturbing. This was just disturbing. And the name choice...Wonder? I wonder what happened in this novel... I will continue to recommend the previous books to friends but I think this one needs to come with a warning label because it's just so hard to read. It felt nonsensical at times.

This book was something else! I love reading about Joe, he's my guilty pleasure. Although a chunk of the beginning was kind of hard to get through, it definitely picked up after a while.
I didn't really find Wonder a very interesting character, although I did respect her position in the book and in Joe's life.
What I loved more than anything was the environment, the locality. The vibes of Massachusetts is really what made this book! I loved reading about

I would follow Joe through every adventure and thought through his life. Once again, readers are taken along as he begins his new fresh start: pursuing his own career as a writer through a new role as a Harvard fellow. Joe is immediately drawn to Wonder, another student with humble beginnings hoping for novel success. The group is led by successful writer, Glenn, who harbors his own secrets. Glenn, along with other group members, find themselves captivated by Joe and the mystery that surrounds him. As has often happened before, he finds himself in love and willing to eliminate any obstacles that stand between him and the life he continually dreams of.

While I did enjoy this book I will say it’s my least favorite of the series. It was just so long, not much happened, and it felt repetitive at times. I’ve really enjoyed this series but I’m not sure I would have finished this book if it was a standalone. Its not as much of a thriller and it kind of just fell flat. Don’t get me wrong, I love Joe and I love this series I just didn’t love this book.

Joe Goldberg is back and this time instead of selling books, he's writing them! In For You and Only You, Joe has been selected to join a writing fellowship at Harvard. He's finished his book and he's ready for money and fame. Naturally, he meets a woman, falls head over heels and becomes frustrated that the world is standing in the way of forever love.
You can see where this is going. For You and You Only is a bit of a slog. I almost gave up in the first 25% because Joe just rambles on... and not in the good way as in past installments. There is also not a lot of plot and you can see where the story is headed a mile away. The story does pick up in the middle but I didn't find the ending particularly interesting.
This wasn't a great addition to the series. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe the "You' books have run their course. The ending leads me to believe that this is not the end for Joe. I just hope future installments are more interesting and take what we think we know about Joe and turn it on its' head.
Overall, if you're a 'You' fan, you should probably read this. However, you will most likely be reading this book so that future installments make sense. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for the ARC!

Caroline Kepnes never disappoints! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. Joe is such a fascinating character and relatable in so many ways. For You and Only You is a perfect follow up to the series.

Joe is back! But not just as Joe Goldberg, now it's Joe Goldberg...a Harvard Man. That's right, move over Elle Woods the hallowed halls of Harvard University is now home to our favorite serial killer.
After spending some time in Florida making RIP Mary-Kay's dream come true, Joe is on the move to New England to take part in a writing fellowship as an author. Joe has been selling books for so long he finally decided to write one.
Now he has a group of fellows, a Nobel prize winning mentor and... YOU. (You of course being one of his fellow fellows...Wonder.) Joe knows he and Wonder have a connection that transcends all of emotions of the past. RIP Candance, Beck, Love, and May Kay.
As the fellowship unfolds, Joe and Wonder identify themselves as the outcasts, but that doesn't stop them from trying to outdo the pretentious competition. However, their mentor seems to have it out for Wonder and Joe will not stand for anything coming in between him and Wonder.
Cue the serial killer protector instincts. (I can't even read these books without Penn Bradley's voice narrating in my head. It's WONDERful.)
Can Joe keep their love together? Can he kill their darlings so their lives and books can have that deeply coveted happily ever after? Oh, YOU. YOU know Joe has your back.
--What I loved:
Joe. Always Joe. His dark narration is what keeps us all in his head and in his world. I am here for it. He could be working as the hoagie maker at a WaWa giving me commentary one the sandwich eaters and I'd be hooked.
--What was eh:
unfortunately, Joe's narration was a double-edged sword this time. I feel like this book was a little too drawn out for me. I got lost in the personal monologues a little and had to make myself focus on what was happening. The ending was also a little wishy washy to me. I was not expecting it from a Joe Goldberg book. I needed a little more.
None of this however will keep me from Carline Kepnes and Joe's story in the future.
For You and Only You is out April 4, 2023. PRE-ORDER
Don't forget to catch Season 4 of You on Netflix in February and March.
My thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
