I love the TV show You and enjoyed the first book in this series but all the other books have just been not up to par and this one was no exception. While I thought the plot sounded interesting and parts of the story were interesting to me, I felt like there was too much fluff or trying to hard to sound cool and interesting with some of Joe's innerthoughts that it was just overkill and made me not enjoy the book. It also made the book way too long and drawn out.

I am a huge fan of Caroline Kepnes and I wish she'd stopped with Joe at #3 and moved on to something else.
She can write with the best of them--she's absolutely amazing.
But with this one, she seemed to be reaching--as if her agent or her editoror somebody was telling her to stick with a proven winner.
Except for Joe, who I feel I know intimately from the previous three books, I didn't care whether any of the other characters lived or died. They were that uninteresting to me. And I wish a lot more of them HAD died, but Joe wasn't up to speed in his usual manner.
I don't know--maybe it was because it was set in the world of the literati: writing, publishing, agents, lit crit, etc. That might be fascinating to some people but I've been fucking with it for 50+ years and I despise it. Maybe it'd be like a lobster fisherman reading a book about lobster fishermen.
Anyway, I love Caroline.
Just didn't love this book. It was good, but not great.

This is the four book in the "You" series and I still love Joe Goldberg. I know I should hate him but I find myself rooting for him every single time. If you are looking for a book that follows the Netflix series, this is not it. This book finds Joe at Harvard after he's invited to join a writing fellowship. There he meets Wonder, his newest obsession.

I’ve loved every single book so far in the you series. This one is a little different and I loved it. I got to know who Joe was. I feel like this series is pretty much the same every book he finds a new girl falls in love the kills everyone he gets his way. I understand that’s kind of his MO but it was nice to kind of get a little bit more of Joe. I will always recommend these books to anyone who asks because I love how they’re written and I love the characters. I just feel like it’s getting kind of predictable.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read an advanced copy of another installment of Joe’s adventures.
I really enjoy Joe’s adventures and perspective and this book follows a similar vein as the others & the Netflix series. While this formula is entertaining and familiar, it’s not quite as thrilling as when I was first introduced to Joe. It is a good read and I will recommend it to some of my friends who like this genre.

This is the fourth title in the "You" series by Caroline Kepnes and I think I have lost myself in Joe's world between the Netflix show and the book series. Needless to say, it has been a little while since Joe Goldberg and I crossed paths. I missed the gap between the end of the Netflix show and the beginning of this book, and I was a little lost. I liked Wonder's name, but not necessarily her character. I feel like the other females in Joe's world have been more memorable. This felt very methodical and while we know Joe to be a creature of habit, I was looking for something a little different in this storyline. To be quite honest, I'm on the "Joe-train" as long as it goes, and while this wasn't my favorite book, I am locked in for any that may follow.

Oh Joe, always in a pickle. I mean honestly it’s still a shock he’s alive at this point and up to his same old shenanigans but I’m always in on these books and of course the tv series!
Thank you #atria and #NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review

I didn’t have high expectations for this book since it is the fourth book in the “You” series since the books got progressively worse. It follows the same equation of writer Joe Goldberg falls for woman and choas ensues. At this point, I feel like that are just writing the books to continue with the Netflix series so they can profit off both simultaneously. Unfortunately, the storylines are all so similar that it takes the element of surprise away as well making the books less interesting overall.

After really enjoying the first books in this series, I wasn’t able to get through this one. The storyline seemed to be all over the place and I had trouble following the plot. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish this one. I am really grateful to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me with the opportunity to read this book.

I hate to say it.... but I think I'm over this series. I feel like we've lost the plot of the original story and I know we evolve and grow and make room for new possibilities but Joe is a serial killer whose story has gone on for way too many books now. I would've been happy at book 2 being the sole sequel to You but by book 3 I just didn't have that same pull to reading the story. I liked how unpredictable Joe was and how we still were getting to know the lengths he'd go to to get to the person he wanted and although he's still unhinged, I don't find that same mystery being fed.
You was one of my all-time favourite books and the fact that I have fallen so out of love with it is disappointing. I feel if you've enjoyed the expansion of the story you'd like this one but I am done.

I can never have enough Joe! When I heard there was another book I was very excited. I won't give anything away but you definitely want to read this one!

Every time I finish a book in this series I think to myself “yep, I’m done. Definitely not reading any more.” And yet, here I am. I found this book lacking in the thrill. Joe doesn’t seem to have the same amount of creepy, stalking, killing that he once did. That lack of thrill really ruined it for me. So, here I am telling myself once more, I’m done with this series.
But, a SB spin-off? That I for sure need.

Super disappointed with this one. It had me in the beginning, but I just feel like we've lost the plot, and it feels like we're recycling the story at this point.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
I think I should have liked this more if I had read it under other circumstances, but I admit that I would frankly read any and all books in this series because I overall have enjoyed them.
I just love seeing into the mind of Joe, and I still hope for more books.
I still will definitely add this one to my collection with the rest of the series.

I need another Joe Goldberg book asap I love this series so much as much as I am suppose to hate him I can’t he at all

For You and Only You is the fourth book in Caroline Kepnes's bestselling You series, and it's just as dark, twisted, and addictive as the previous books. In this installment, Joe Goldberg has moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to attend Harvard University. He's now a published author, and he's determined to start a new life.
But of course, Joe can't help himself. He soon becomes obsessed with a new woman, a writer named Marienne Bellamy. Marienne is everything that Joe's previous obsessions weren't: she's intelligent, independent, and self-assured. But she's also damaged, and she has a dark secret of her own.
As Joe gets closer to Marienne, he also finds himself caught up in a dangerous game with a mysterious figure from his past. The stakes are higher than ever, and Joe is forced to confront his own demons once and for all.
Kepnes does a masterful job of exploring the dark side of human nature in For You and Only You. Joe is a complex and fascinating character, and Kepnes does a great job of getting inside his head. The story is also full of twists and turns, and it will keep you guessing until the very end.
If you're a fan of the You series, or if you're just looking for a dark and suspenseful thriller, then I highly recommend For You and Only You. It's one of the best books I've read this year.

I have to be honest Joe has lost a bit of his magic this go around.
He is needy(er) and winy(er)....I think he found the line that I was not sure existed for him and jumped right on over it.
Wonder is probably the worst 'love' interest he has ever had. I only remembered her name because I couldn't stop 'wonder'ing why he was obsessed with her. And this is JOE we are talking about. Of course he is going to be obsessed! But this was odd even for Joe. Maybe because we didn't spend as much time 'getting to know' her as we did some of the other.....victims....er 'love interests'.
The end had a different 'twist' but I kind of expected it and was still disappointed.
There was no cliffhanger on this one. Not really any reason to continue with Joe at all.....
I will definitely keep reading Kepnes but Joe might be done for me.

….dare I say that Joe Goldberg has evolved?? I won’t give anything away but he’s the same yet not. You’ll understand once you read FYAOY. I often found myself laughing out loud, much like I did throughout this series. Not really sure how this moves Joe or his story ahead but I did enjoy it. I think if you’re a fan if the series, you’ll enjoy it too.

I love me some Joe Goldberg! These are a guilty pleasure read, even though they are a bit repetitive and follow his same cycle. This time Joe is an author, and getting a fellowship to Harvard. He meets his new dream girl Wonder! Dunkin Donuts worker and aspiring author, but of course, people keep getting in the way of their new progressing relationship. So Joe takes care of them.
Although I love following Joe around and seeing inside his head, I found this book to be a little lack luster for me. I wasn't as exciting as the first was. Overall a good read, but not my favorite from the series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I love everything about You and the Caroline Kepnes series that has led us to For You and Only You. What a creepy tale about stalkers and voyeurism and murder that has also translated so well to the screen. Well done, Caroline Kepnes!
