This story captured me from the beginning!

Helena was engaging right from the start, she was funny, smart, sassy and her devotion to her charges was very relatable.

Adrian took a while to like for me, the other characters and even for himself. Ms. Bradly did a good job in changing this angry, scared and self-loathing rake into someone who was worth of his children and Helena.

This was a well written and entertaining historical romance that gave the reader enough backstory to feel comfortable not having read the previous books but wanting to because the stories are intriguing.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Thank-you to Oliver Heber Books and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a quick and fun romp, which I enjoyed! Unfortunately, the book’s soreness is also its downfall. The romance didn’t quite move from tense to romantic in a believable way, there is little bonding, and it’s so fast-paced that it feels like whiplash at times. But the characters are fun, their banter is enjoyable and the side characters are truly people of their own, even if you see little of them, you believe that they exist in the periphery of the story.

Overall, not bad, so I would recommend if you want something quick, fun and easy. If you want something with more depth, any spicy (there is None) or emotional turmoil (read: angst) you won’t find it in this book.

Helena is the governess of a recluse earl subject to the gossip of the ton who hasn't been home since she started working for him six months ago. After a rather HARROWING first meeting, Adrian isn't very impressed with her. Or the new litter of kittens that are running around his castle. Can Adrian and Helena put their differences aside and focus on the twin boys' education?

I really enjoyed this story. It was short and quick and I loved the tension between the main character. Helena shows courage throughout the whole story and isn't afraid to make her opinions known.

This was close to everything perfect in an history romance. It had the best trope with a rake, his children and their governess There was a good build up to the romantic interest between the main characters. Then there was the sexual tension that is to be expected in a romance but (and herein lies problem) it led to absolutely no where. Something was needed in the heat level in this book to complete the romance. Missing that portion made an overall good story, fall flat.

Very clean story. I like a bit more passion.

The heroine is the hero's governess. He's got twin boys but hasn't been paying attention to his estate after the sad death of his wife. In fact he's been loosing himself in drink in London. He drunkenly takes himself home to find Helena up a tree collecting mistletoe. There were some incongruous things: no racoons in the Uk, didn't think mistletoe was spiky, thought it usually grew on Apple or Hawthorn trees rather than Alder (but grows in Alder trees in California?)
Helena is teaching the boys about animals but what seems strange is that the Earl's estate doesn't have any animals not even horses for carriages? only a feral cat that seems to be producing lots of kittens.
The book is part of a series for 5 sisters but not sure I'd bother with the rest.

Anna Bradley is a new-to-me author. This book has a fairly straightforward premise. Adrian, Earl of Hawke lost his wife, Sofie 2 years ago and has been enmeshed in debauchery since then. He has twin sons, Ryan and Etienne, whom he packed away at his country seat, Hawke's Run. After a huge scandal, he ran away from London to Hawke's Run and promptly came across his children's governess, Helena Templeton, who was collecting mistletoes (of all the things!), and she was stuck on a tree. Helena's family is pretty notorious in London, so she buried herself in the country to escape the notoriety. Some accidents, mishaps, a Christmas ball and a pregnant cat, happened along the way. Whoever said the course to true love is easy?

I liked that Helena isn't enamoured with Adrian from the get-go. She has some preconceived notions about Adrian due to his reputation as a notorious rake. Adrian stayed away from Hawke's Run because of the memories there. This, however, inadvertently affects his relationship with his children.

I think Ms Bradley's writing is charming. She manages to capture feline behaviour perfectly. I have a cat myself, so the cat's antics seemed to be on point. Julie Anne Long is the only author I could think of who has an uncanny understanding of feline behaviour.

The first half is excellent, but unfortunately, the plot in the second half, well, meanders. I struggled to finish the book after the 50% mark. The plot isn't new; a notorious widower rake and the governess trope has been done to death. The first half is filled with a few funny incidents, so it was very engaging. The second half felt flat.

This book is short and a quick read. If you're looking for something sweet and low-angst, this book should be able to satisfy you. I prefer an emotionally demanding book, so this was just an okay read for me.

Steam factor: Nil. Kisses only.

This is the third book in the Games Earls Play series. Helena is a governess who is smart, stubborn and caring. She takes care of twin boys whose father was away. The father was trying to forget his dead wife but nothing worked...

I have always loved Anna Bradley. This book is a great example of wonderful plotting and characterization. The story flows smoothly and doesn't drag. The characters are terrific together and develops nicely. Love their chemistry.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I thought the book was good, i loved the cover an that’s what made me go an apply for the book.
So this woman Helena gets a position with twin boys in this lonely castle deep in the Oxford shire countryside and this place like the guy that owns it they had some things to say about him how he’s quiet and different. I loved the chemistry between her and the rakish earl of Hawke when he returns home unexpectedly and she meets him while he’s half dressed.

He also has his dead wife in his head her memory and this remind me a lot of enemies to lovers since he thought she was annoying at first the governess that gets the job. Had a lot of slow burn it was a really good story.

I got this arc for free for review 100% opinion is my own.

Anna Bradley is a automatic request from me. This book was more midrange for me.
Adrian is returning home after a scandel, having been away from his home and sons for months. He has been playing the rake since his wife's death.
Thr first meeting between Helena, the boys governess, and the earl was not ideal for Helena.
I liked Adrian, he was sweet and definitely not the rake during the story. Helena was interesting, the boys were appropriately used which usually doesn't happen in books about governesses.
The only complaint I have and what makes this 3.5 stars is I don't feel Adrian and Helena spent enough time together. They need way more scenes together. I feel they fell more in love with the idea or each other which made it feel more like instalove.

If you are looking for a Regency novella with great banter, a dash of angst, and a sweet slow burn, look no further than Anna Bradley's Fell in Love with an Earl!

The third installment in her Games Earls Play series, this book tackles the classic governess-lord pairing as the emotionally scarred Adrian returns to his home to find his rambunctious boys tamed by the clever and beautiful Helena. While I definitely prefer my historicals to be a little bit spicier, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Adrian and Helena stumbling into love with the help of several wily kittens, a meddling sister, and Christmas spirit. I'm excited to continue this series as we still have two more sisters to match up!

This is the third in a fun series of novellas about a quintet of scandal ridden sisters. This is a standalone, but the reader's enjoyment and understanding will be enhanced by having read the earlier entries in the series. Here the FMC, Helena, has taken a role of governess to unruly twin boys whose father has been absent for many months, apparently drinking and sexing away his grief over his late wife's death. Adrian, the dad, returns home to outrun scandal. He is not the most ideal hero at the start but children, cats, and Helena bring out qualities he thought long gone. Helena is dryly funny and Adrian does not quite know what to do with her or his feelings for her. I liked them together, they work well. It is a little insta-love but I think most novellas are. The boys and Helena's sister add an additional touch of levity. Quick but fun, a great vacation or rainy weekend read. I look forward to the remaining two sisters' stories. A solid 4 stars.

I really like the Games Earls Play series by Anna Bradley, so I've been really excited to read Fell in Love with an Earl. In the previous book, we got to meet this book's heroine, Helena, and the scenes at Hawkes Run made me excited for this book.
I loved this book's heroine, Helena! She knew herself, had a backbone, and had the perfect amount of stubbornness without being annoyingly obstinate. Her counterpart, Adrian was grumpy but still seemed charming, which I think is hard to pull off but Anna Bradley was able to. If I had one complaint about this book, it would be that I wanted more scenes of Adrian and Helena together. I feel like there should have been more, especially because in most of the scenes together they was more strife, and not enough of them falling in love. There was a lot of observing or yearning in private without them being in together, not enough even just conversations getting to know each other. This book seems relatively short and I felt like it could have a couple more chapters with them together more. This HR fan wanted a little more romance!
I do love the sensitivity of Adrian, as well as his sweet sons, Ryan and Etienne! I love how the boys loved Helena. Their dearness and their enthusiasm was so sweet! It was fun to see Juliet and Miles from book number 2, and Juliet determined to keep matchmaking!
All in all, I really enjoyed Fell in Love with an Earl. The dialogue was entertaining, all the characters I really enjoyed. I love Anna Bradley books, and I was really excited to receive this ARC from Netgalley to review. This is a really good addition to the series, and if you like HRs readers will enjoy this one.
