An action-packed ending…

Nothing like angels and ancient Vikings reborn to catch my attention! Rivka was such a unique character. An angel, a librarian, someone who always stood on the side of right. She owned up to her mistakes and did right by them, even now when it may cost her everything. Including her life. Sven didn’t know her, he just knew she had threatened the Brotherhood and his job was to find her. No matter how long it took. Or how he felt about it…

Betrayal. Such a deep, painful part of Sven’s past and rooted in Rivka’s life right now. Trust between them should have been hard won but instead they both felt the connection between them that transcended their situation. Even though that situation meant they would/should and mustn’t be together. Flaunting the rules for the sake of truth, their struggles were heated and thrilling with the emotional punches neverending… Paranormal, magic and love made for an explosive combination and a heartfelt ending. If that ending warbled a little quickly for me it didn’t take away from the reading goodness that led to it…

I have read this author for years yet somehow came late to the party in this series. I can’t wait to start at the beginning so I can find out all I missed and get to spend more time with Sven and Rivka – this just wasn’t enough...

Even as a 6th book in the series, Hunter Avenged is a total standalone book. I’m new to reading paranormal romances so I still try to find the logic. Regardless this was entertaining and adventurous to read! There are some characters that make an appearance and I take it they are from the past books. Sven and Rivka are amazing together.

Sven, a Viking from the Forgotten Brotherhood, and Rivka, a librarian who happens to be also an angel. This couple is so different and refreshing, I really loved the character development and the world-building. The storyline was good, it had suspense that kept me reading at a good pace. I truly enjoyed this story and will be checking the rest of the books.

Rivka has been hiding her true self while hunting for proof that she has been framed.
Sven has been hunting the angel who tried to destroy the Forgotten Brotherhood for months and has at last caught up to her.
Things are not quite as they seem.
This is an action packed paranormal romance with great characters. Our heroine is a lot more courageous than even she knows. Our hunter has always been an assassin but will find a huge protective streak. Lots of exciting fight scenes and some hot sex.
This book is part of a series but you can read it on its own.
I loved it.

I once said–and truly believed–I was not a big paranormal/paranormal romance fan except for the Twilight series. My book collection would determine that is a lie. What I am, when it comes to paranormal romance, is very picky. But I’m working on expanding my book palate, so at the recommendation of a trusted book world friend, I decided to give Burning Ash (book 3 in this author’s Forgotten Brotherhood series) a try, and it hooked me. I’m now working on reading the previous books in the series. If you didn’t read between the lines there, I highly recommend the entire thing. Hunter Avenged is the 6th book, and I’m assuming it’s the last one, as it seemed to wrap everything up nicely. It picks up after the (mostly) resolved conflict in the previous story, but there’s still something foul afoot regarding the threat to the Forgotten Brotherhood.

Rivka and Sven’s story is the ultimate opposites attract. She tackles life bravely with a heart of gold and is willing to sacrifice everything, up to and including herself, for justice to prevail, even if she’s stubborn in the process. While equally stubborn, Sven doesn’t shy away from her even when he believes there’s no hope for a future for them. Their chemistry is so intense, he’ll take a short time with her over forever with someone––or no one––else.

The suspense kept me turning the pages, and it’s a bit steamy without being over the top. You will love this book and series if you like paranormal romances with tortured heroes, badass heroines, fast-paced action, and well-written suspense. NJ Walters has cemented herself on my list of favorite authors to read, and as far as paranormal suspense goes, that’s quite a feat!

I have been waiting for Sven's book since Bjorn's book and was not disappointed. Sven has been tracking the fallen angel Rivka for months and finally has caught up to her. All Rivka is trying to do is prove her innocence. What Rivka doesn't know is Sven has become obsessed with her, but not truly understand why just yet. They take you on an adventure looking for an artifact to prove Rivka innocent and to not only protect her but the brotherhood. They were made for each other. Got to love Sven and his big axe! The story was full of action, passion, and chemistry. We get to see some of our favorite characters from the previous books. I hope this series never expires, N.J. has created a wonderful world for us to enjoy. As always I support the authors I read, so this is one click buy for me!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was steamy, fun, fast-paced and held my interest. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

This book is sensational! Part of the Forgotten Brotherhood series, there is enough details given that this book can be read as a standalone, but for fullest enjoyment, I recommend reading the other books in this series. I adored Sven and his grumpy self. Tall and broody, he is everything needed in a hero.

Rivka is an angel on the run. She had been set up, but doesn't know who did it. She is trying to uncover the truth before she is found.

Sven is a hunter on Rivka's trail. After tracking her for 6 months, he finds her working in a bar. She is not what he expected, too innocent to be guilty of the deeds described. He brings her to the Brotherhood for questioning.

Sven believes her story and is willing to fight on her behalf, since she is reluctant to take on the angels after her. Let the hunt begin!

Sven is after an angel who did something a fellow Forgotten Brotherhood member and his mate. Bad move on the part of this angel, you don't mess with the Forgotten Brotherhood. But dealing with heaven and hell makes things harder when you can't always trust the parties involved. And the angel in question, Rivka is not the menace to society that Sven has come to believe she is.

Rivka just wants to live long enough to find out who set her up and why. But to do that she'll have to trust the Forgotten Brotherhood and hope they believe her because some of the other angels want her dead, she just has to find out why and stop them.

Once Sven finds her, she's nothing like what he thought she would be like. Plus he feels a pull towards her and she feels the same pull towards him but they fight it for a long time even though Sven isn't going to let anyone hurt her in the mean time, not even his own boss.

Rivka needs to find a book that will help her with a spell that will make the angel who's after her tell the truth about what is really going on. Once she convinces The Forgotten brotherhood that she isn't the villain they think she is and wants to get to the truth, they decide to help her and Sven goes with her to search for the book she needs.

The fight scenes, action, danger and blooming romance between these two kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I love when a book can keep me reading because I'm so invested in the story and the characters and the twists just keep coming. This story and this series is just so good, I cannot recommend it enough.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was surprised and happy to see this series had another book coming. This book featured Sven, Bjorn's son from the fourth book in the series. This a standalone but I would recommend reading the series in order as the stories are connected.
I loved that Rivka was not intimidated by Sven. Or any of the men from the Brotherhood that she met. Sven and Rivka teleport to various places as they search for a book that might hold to key to finding out who set this all in motion.

Sven how been searching the globe to track down the angel who compromised the Forgotten Brotherhood and had a hand in waking the drakon.

Rivka had always wanted to serve on Earth and help humans. But something went wrong and she realized that she'd been a pawn in someone else game. She's on the run from not only the brotherhood but also an elite group of angels.

When they finally cross paths, Rivka makes the choice to trust the immortal Viking man. Because the person who wants Rivka dead and the Brotherhood gone is powerful. Someone willing to upset the balance that's been in place.

Thanks so much to the author and Entangled Publishing for this ARC to review.

Non-stop action and suspense with a twist that should not be possible

Sven has been tasked with capturing Rivka and returning her to the brotherhood for questioning. For the first time in centuries, he finds himself enjoying the hunt. Rivka has proven to be quick-witted, intelligent, and kind. All things that have Sven questioning her guilt.

Rivka has been running from - well everyone - After being set up for a crime she did not commit she has been flashing from location to location in the hopes of finding an old spell book that will allow her to prove her innocence before she becomes just a splatter in some dingy alley

When Rivka and Sven collide fate takes over
Now they will fight side by side to prove Rivka's innocence

These two were explosive - quite literally - from the moment they bumped elbows to the HEA. A believable slow build steamy as hades romance. Non-stop action and adventure from the first page to the last.
If you are a fan of paranormal/fantasy this series is a must

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for granting me a copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

The book had lots and lots of action, but also a clear amount of romance.

I have not read any previous books in this series so was hesitant to dive in, but it was good as a stand alone novel. I will, however be backtracking to read the previous books in the series.

The book had just the right amount of everything. For myself more romance would be a plus, but nothing was overkill.

I liked all the characters and felt I was able to get to know them all, the setting was perfect and the plot flowed seamlessly.

I would recommend.

What I liked about Rivka was her optimism. She knew she was in trouble and had no doubt that she could clear her name. She is smart and courageous, but naive in ways that make some of her actions seem childlike. Sven's task is to bring her to justice. The knowledge and power he possesses makes for a dynamic charge when he realizes that there is more to the story.

This is a great read. Rivka is such a contradiction. Filled with such power yet on the run. Ancient yet still innocent. She is on a quest while also being on the run. This story is a page turner and one in a series of great reads featuring the Forgotten Brotherhood.

I just love this series! The men are alpha and possessive and the women girl bosses! Rivka (love that name) and Sven are no different. She’s an Angel on the run and he’s a member of the Brotherhood, charged with brining her in for questioning. Their game of cat at mouse is fun but being caught might be even more exciting. Sparks fly (sometimes literally) and the name of the game becomes survival. For Rivka, it’s not innocent until proven guilty, it’s survival until she can prove she’s innocent.
I started this series with the previous book and was able to just jump right in. I got to know some of the players which does help, the more you’ve read. But these books are so good, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and read them all. I’m so excited for more!!

I haven't read this series, but felt this worked okay as a standalone.

I liked the mix of romance and action/adventure in this one. Sven and Rivka seems like opposites - but you know they say, opposites attract!

Angel Rivka wanted to help humans but thinks took a turn and went wrong. She is resourceful and smart. Sven has been hunting for her for six frustrating months since she compromised the Forgotten Brotherhood. Despite knowing she needs to avoid him, she's taken in by his icy blue eyes and sparks fly!

Teleporting adventures, fighting, and the chemistry in the romance drew me in. Also I love some morally grey characters so this fit the bill!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an ARC copy!

This is the latest in the wonderful Forgotten Brotherhood series and features Sven who was seen in the last book.
Sven has been searching for six months to find Rivka as the Brotherhood want to question her about her role in waking the Drakon but they’re not the only ones as she is being hunted by powerful others who want to harm her.
Rivka is a defective Angel who previously lived quietly as the Librarian but has been unwittingly drawn into the compromising position the Brotherhood found themselves in after Lucius the sleeping Drakon was woken by his previously unknown mate.
When Sven manages to find Rivka he soon realises there is more to her than originally thought and that she may be a victim of compromise too but who is behind all of this?
Rivka & Sven have to work together to investigate what is happening and who is targeting Rivka. She is being hunted even while she is with Sven putting them both in danger.
I loved it!

I really enjoyed this story and it was a fabulous addition to the series. Sven was introduced and brought into the brotherhood circle a couple books ago and his hunt for Rivka was initiated due to the last book's events -- but don't worry if you haven't read those stories as this one stands well on it's own. Sven is sexy and while he's more an actions first he's well aware that using one's brain is important for success and survival in "occupation"/world. While Rivka has mainly "book smarts" that she's gained over her long angelic life and prefers conflict avoidance, she's very smart and has good instincts to boot. She's being hunted by many and has found herself on her own in world she knows little (outside of books) about, but she continues to maintain her appreciation for finding joy in the life/world around her and her gentle caring nature all while managing to hide & outsmart the dangers hunting her. It's that combination of smarts and sweet that appeals to Sven while his protective streak and gentleness draws Rivka to him. Together they make a great team with plenty of wit, heat, humor and breaking down of long held emotional armor. their search for the truth and who is after Rivka (and the brotherhood) and why is interesting and helps keep things moving and providing action/adventure in the story. in all the plot & pacing of the story quickly drew me in and kept me reading to find the final resolution and for the Sven & Rivka's HEA.

Will they find the right answer in time …

What a hell of a story!
How to not love Rivka, she is empathy personified, a true Angel, compassionate, kind and caring.
But what of Sven, a warrior, hunter and protector, all this in one hell of a yummy package.

I love how the brotherhood members are all so different, and how fitting are the women who make them take the plunge.
For Rivka and Sven, it is more than lust at first sight, the pull they feel is beyond simple attraction and more than mere chemistry. Plus Rivka being who she is, seeks to understand why she is drawn to him when for millennia she never felt an once of what he has awaken in her.
Sven, too while he denies it at first, is entranced by her, the chase has bewitched him as he loves nothing more than the hunt, but with Rivka, he sees beyond what the angelic world has been blind to see. A talented acknowledged being with a sweet side, a true Angel.

Ryvka is trying to right a wrong done in her name but difficult to investigate when everyone non human wants a piece of her if no more. Sven has been tasked to find her, and now he is no more a goddess minion, he enjoys his freedom to do as he likes.
This is a rollercoaster kind of story that make you cling to the building, between fights, investigation, steamy moments, Sven and Ryvka’s time is running out and with it the possibility of something more than being the hunter and his prey.

Having not read any of the previous Forgotten Brotherhood titles before starting Hunter Avenged, I honestly didn't know what to expect. Sven and Rivka's story might be a standalone, but I assumed I would be at least a little lost without reading any of the other five books in this series. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get into the story, even when characters who were obviously from previous books made appearances.

But Sven and the Forgotten Brotherhood were easy to pick up and follow along with. I loved how these immortal tough guys were juxtaposed against Rivka - who was literally an angel.

Thanks to their paranormal abilities, Rivka and Sven's story spanned the globe in search of the book that could save Rivka and prove her innocence in the whole drakon debacle. With some not-so-angelic angels on their trail, Sven and Rivka find themselves getting closer than they ever expected.

Overall, the story and writing style were super easy to pick up and get lost in. I devoured this one over two reading sessions - mostly because I needed to know what would happen between Rivka and Sven while they were trying to evade the angelic powers that be. I enjoyed watching their powers come alive on the page, especially as Rivka and Sven teamed up and used their abilities together, rather than just to survive and fight another day.

Having not read the previous books, I now really want to go back and read the first five stories to get the complete Forgotten Brotherhood backstory. But not having those backstories did not impede my ability to follow along and enjoy Sven and Rivka's story.
