I really liked Sven & Rivka. They both deserved to find their happiness after lifetimes of hardship. Finally, the villain gets what he deserves. Always great to see others from the Brotherhood as well. Really enjoyed it! I’ve read this whole series, but this is considered a standalone.

Sven is apart of the Forgotten Brotherhood and is on the hunt for the Angel Rivka. Rivka is on the run trying to prove her innocence and stay alive. Sven has spent six months looking for Rivka only because she been labeled as the Angel who was responsible for compromising the Brotherhood and causing the Drakon to awake. Though it has taken six months he refuses to give up the hunt for his prey. The one whom framed Rivka wants her dead because she is a pawn in the bigger plan that can take down the Brotherhood and Heaven/Hell. Rivka realizes that Sven will be the one person to help her, but her attraction/emotions are losing a battle in the mist of her survival. They will have to join together to fight for Rivka's innocence, the Brotherhood, and protecting Heaven/Hell.

Since I didn't read the previous books this review is based on this particular book. This is an enemies to lovers troupe (emphasis on the lovers) and though circumstances has thrown them in each other path...it seems as destiny will shake their souls... I enjoyed this book and it was steamy, suspenseful, dramatic, with complex situations, HEA and the perfect type of paranormal romance. A great book now I need to read the previous books to catch up.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. This story was great in the beginning and somewhere in the middle it began to drag.

Hunter Avenged
N.J. Walters
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sven has spent six months looking for her. Trying to track down the angel responsible for compromising the Forgotten Brotherhood and waking the drakon. She may be clever and resourceful. But no one and I mean no one ever gets away from Sven. Ever.

When Rivka was an angel all she wanted was the chance to serve on Earth and help humans. But it all went wrong, so horrifyingly wrong, and yet she still doesn't understand how or even why. Now all she does know is that she is on the run-not only from heavens elite guard, but also from the Forgotten Brotherhood, who are demanding answers.

Now that he's found her she's probably going to have to trust this immortal Viking whose icy blue eyes make her feel human in ways she's never felt before. You see there is someone out there who wants Rivka dead and the Brotherhood eliminated. This someone is powerful enough to take on the most dangerous assassins who ever lived. Someone who can unleash the fury of both Heaven and Hell, and Rivka is the key to all of it.

N.J. Walters is absolutely incredible. This book is fabulous. It had me hook line and sinker from the first page. I really get into these Brotherhood books so much that the world drops away when I'm reading. This couple was fantastic. The main characters were meant for each other. They were so many bad things that could have happened, but they worked together and fixed anything that was thrown at them. I truly enjoyed this book and happily give it 5 stars.

Ok, I am ready for the next one! So much action, suspense and love. When Sevn one of the forgotten brotherhood is Denton a mission to find the angel that betrayed them, he gets more then he bargained for. Rivka has been running and hiding so long she knows of other way, but when a handsome Viking walks into her diner, she longs for the chance at love. But with heavens elite angels on her trail, this can never be, or can it?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Sven is one of the members of the Forgotten Brotherhood. He is an immortal Viking who lived for centuries as the assassin of the goddess Freya. His latest task is to track down the angel who seems to have been plotting against the brotherhood.

Rivka is a "defective angel" she has to wear glasses and has always been more focused on the angelic archives than anything else. When she was given the opportunity to run a foundation on earth - instead of manage the archives she took it. What she didn't know was that by doing so she was going to become a pawn in a less than nice angel's plan.

When Sven finally catches up with Rivka their connection is explosive and definitely more than either of them bargained for. Sven is definitely a typical alpha male - but Rivka is a refreshingly strong lead. She has her own amazing gifts and doesn't back down from a challenge. I love her unique combination of empathy and toughness.

Overall - this is a great addition to the series. You can 100% read it as a standalone - but I think reading other books in the series, especially the book that came immediately before this one will help you understand the world and what is going on. That being said - you don't have to!

My only gripe is that the ending did feel a bit anticlimactic.

Overall - a good series and a good read!

I received this via NetGalley as an ARC, but these opinions are all my own.

Rivka, an angel, is on the run from several powerful groups because she has been made into a scapegoat by powerful people, but she's not sure who or why. Sven, immortal viking warrior, is hunting her down on behalf of one of these groups. When he finally catches her, he quickly starts falling for her and switches to helping her try to solve the mystery of what happened.

While the beginning of the story grabbed me, the tension between Rivka and Sven broke too quickly for my taste. I never really got invested in their characters or relationship. It would have been great to see the chase dragged out a little longer. It seems possible that some of that may have happened in previous books, which was another issue for me with this one. I have not read the previous books, and while I agree that this can be read as a standalone, I had the sense that there was a lot of context I was missing that likely would have made the book more enjoyable. I never fully followed why the event Rivka was blamed for was so bad, for example, which made me less invested in the whole external conflict. I did enjoy the ending, and felt that it was a good satisfying HEA for two characters who previously seemed to have no way to be together long term.

Another excellent story to this series! We have met these characters as part of the unfolding story arc. Sven the Viking has been hunting Rivka the Angel since things went south in the previous book. The Brotherhood believes Rivka is responsible for those events.

What Sven is not prepared for is the protective nature he feels for Rivka once he finally catches her. The set upon a world wide quest to discover the truth. Lots of actions avoiding an angel army who wants Rivka punished. Great scenes and characters meet them on their journey.

I loved the stunning conclusion! I loved Rivka's positive outlook despite the circumstances.

Looking forward to reading more Brotherhood books in the future.

I was really excited when I saw this book. Sven has been a mystery and we finally get to see inside his head. He's a great match with Rivka. We get some long-awaited answers on a lot of the over-arcing plot. I liked how it all played out.

Hunter Avenged is a standalone story but I would suggest you read it as a part of the series to understand the world the author has created in her Forgotten Brotherhood series.

This supernatural romance created to characters that accept who they are and what they are to do in the world that N.J. Walters has created. The action is epic as well as the final battle in Hunter Avenged is hands down very well written that reader will feel as if they are fighting side by side with Sven and Rivka. There is romance that balances out the rest of the fighting and action back scenes.

Thank you to netgalley for advance copy of N.J. Walters Hunter Avenged.

Although I have not read all the books in the series, this book can be read very well as a stand alone novel. A love story that begins as hunter and hunted and has to cope with obstacles in the form of angels, among others - and despite everything, a surprising ending. Thumbs up from me.

This is an exciting and action-packed addition to the Forgotten Brotherhood series and follows Rivka, a hunted angel desperate to clear her name, and Sven, the hunter tasked with finding her.

We met Sven in the previous book, as he is the son of the protagonists. I was curious to learn more about him, his new role in the Brotherhood, and his relationship with his parents. He’s a warrior and so fierce, yet he has a tender side too. Rivka is also intriguing. She is an angel and an intellectual – kind of like a librarian angel, which is so cool and unique. Rivka has been wronged on so many levels, yet she never stops fighting to prove her innocence and worth. They are both well-developed, and I enjoyed learning more about this unique world through their eyes.

Rivka and Sven have an instant connection, and their chemistry is great from their first meeting. You wouldn’t expect an angel and a warrior to have much in common. They are so different in their beliefs and personalities, yet they fit together well and defy the odds. They have a fabulous enemies-to-lovers romance – sexy, steamy, and exciting. And the way Sven feels for Rivka is so swoon-worthy. He loves her intellect and courage, as well as her physical strength and fighting skills. He sees her for who she really is, which is so wonderful, especially considering how she’s been treated by others. And the sense of belonging that Rivka gives Sven is wonderful, too, and something he lost a long time ago.

The story has a lot of action and an epic showdown as Rivka and Sven try to evade their foes, find a way to clear Rivka’s name, face the antagonists that have plagued them and many of the characters in the series, and begin to grow feelings for each other. It’s an intense and dangerous ride filled with intrigue, cool magic, amazing battle scenes, a bunch of different supernatural characters, and more.

I also like that a handful of the characters from the previous books are in this book and have roles in what happens to Rivka. However, you don’t have to have read their stories to follow this one. Each book in the series is meant to be a standalone. I’m not sure if this is the conclusion to the series, but it did have a feeling of finality to it, and the ending wrapped up well. I would definitely recommend the book to paranormal romance readers and am thankful to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

This book didn’t really move me. The premise had charm but the insta-love diluted my interest in the story. The main characters were tolerable yet the side characters were totally uninteresting. Neither the protagonists nor villains had much depth to them, and as a result, I wasn’t invested in the story.

This was a fantastic blend of action, intrigue, and romance! These two have so many reasons to be wary of each other, but they have this instant connection that keeps at them. Figuring out the good and the bad isn’t easy when you are always in the grey, but Sven accepts who he is and how he is. Rivka also thinks she knows and accepts who she is, but it is apparent to others she is so much more. Epic fights, teleporting all over the world, off the charts chemistry, these two face so many challenges, and they take them all on to be together <3

I enjoyed it from beginning to end! Fantastic characters, great story line, drama, suspense and steam. I highly recommend not just this book but the whole series, it is thrilling, amazing with suspenseful plot and loads and loads of steam. I just have to find out who is after the Forgotten Brotherhood.
