This is the best in the series in a while. Though there is always a dramatic Josie rescue. A celebrity therapist is murdered and then the plot thickens with other murders and a back story plot.
Totally enjoyable
Was given a copy by Netgalley. opinions are my own.

Grips you to the last page, this series never disappoints! Complex mystery with red herrings and secrets at every turn. Great investigative mystery with a strong cast of characters that have history, but can be read as stand alone.

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via NetGalley. This is the 16th book in the series. My oh my. I have been reading this series since the beginning but you could read any of the books on their own.

Everyone knows that what you see on TV or on socials is probably fake or exaggerated but we want to believe in the fairytale. We want to believe that the perfect marriage or family exists and therefore we can have it too. It's a very successful business model. The Collins were doing that for a lot of people in Denton but what happens when your perfect marriage starts to fall apart? Lisa did an excellent job of drawing us into this 'perfect' marriage and exposing all its flaws with mystery and intrigue from the off.

I was gripped from the prologue to the very last page. Lisa writes such enthralling books that you just cannot put them down. This one is no exception. With every twist and turn I was more and more absorbed.

Detective Josie Quinn is one of my favourites. She's independent, strong and not afraid to kick some butt if needed. Josie has been through hell and back but her personal life is now in a really good place. I am so glad to see her settled and happy now.

Another fantastic addition to this series. Bring on the next one!

Celebrity marriage guidance couple Beau and Claudia are all set to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. But he arrives late and finds his beloved wife dead....
The Innocent Wife is the 16th detective thriller novel to feature Josie Quinn and her team. There are no spoilers about previous cases whilst their personal lives and relationships have developed over the course of the series.
Beau and Claudia appear to have the perfect life but Josie is convinced that someone isn't happy with them. Could someone's marriage have failed despite their advice? Her theory is challenged when more of their acquaintances are killed and the killer leads Beau and the police in a chilling game.
I enjoyed the dynamics of this book. Josie and Noah are newly married but the marriage advice makes them consider their own relationship. There is a tension as Josie's ex returns and she has mixed emotions about him. But everyone loves his dog!
Most of the book is written in the third person to show the investigation. We do get some unnamed diary entries which show a person in turmoil and this raises questions about their identity and how it relates to the plot. The chapters are quite short and full of action so the plot races along.
The Innocent Wife is a good addition to the series and I love the relationship between Josie and Noah.

Another good Detective Josie Quinn story. I liked the story, the Murders were interesting for the arm chair detective in those of us who love murder mysteries, who did it, and why, of course sometimes the why is a psychopath with no reason whatever, but here, there is obviously a reason, but what is it, and who is responsible? I am a huge fan of this series, I love Josie and her husband Noah, lucky girl is our Josie. Now, here comes my problem with this story, and many books like this, good books all, I am not a feminist, I don't think all men are evil, or mysosiginist pigs, neither does this great author, what I see is a strong woman who doesn't use her gun when she should have, this is the third book in a row from different female authors with the same problem, the woman not taking a shot, allowing someone else to do it for them, although not written like that, it is still the case. I believe in women owning guns, push comes to shove, just like Josie, I am not going to win the physical battle with a man, the equalizer is the weapon, I don't like having to use a weapon, but when it comes down to her life, another person's life, use the weapon. Women need to realize self - defense is justifiable, as I said, I love Josie, I like the women in the other books, but in all three books someone else did the justifiable shooting, in this case Josie's hesitation could have gotten her killed, Luke and his courageous dog. If the story didn't seem so real, I wouldn't be concerned, but the writing is realistic, it reads as though you are watching a screen, or that you are there with her, and want to yell out for her to shoot! Good Read!
I highly recommend it! Thank you #Netgalley #Bookouture

The 16th book in Lisa Regan's Josie Quinn series, this book helped draw me out of my long-standing reading slump.

Relationship gurus Beau and Claudia Collins are touted to be TV's golden couple who have the perfect marriage. And yet, when Claudia is found dead on their wedding anniversary, suspicion quickly falls on Beau. As people close to Beau start to drop dead, Josie and her team quickly deduce that the charming Beau has been lying to them and if they don't find the killer soon, more bodies will roll.

As a die-hard fan of Lisa Regan and Josie Quinn, I must say that the premise of this book was quite interesting albeit predictable. As usual, a lot of Josie's emotions and feelings are thrown in the narrative, and with her ex-fiancee showing up as a consultant on the case, things become awkward too.

The one part that I had an issue with was regarding Brooke's memory. Granted that memory loss and trauma doesn't come with any set guidelines, but it was hard to digest the part where Brooke needed notes to remember to close the door and eat at the dining table but could remember that she had a memory box and kept a diary.

Overall, an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more books in the Josie Quinn series.

I love returning to Denton and following Josie’s adventures. I struggled a bit to get rolling with this one, the mystery did grab me as they usually do with these books. But by the end it was a page turner. Can’t wait to see where Josie’s next adventure takes her..

Beau and Claudia Collins are well-known in Denton as the marriage advice gurus. They’ve got a popular TV show, they run a counseling practice, they’ve written books, and the face they present to the public is that of an adoring couple. Beau arrives home expecting that he and his wife will be celebrating their anniversary for the camera and for their adoring fans. Instead, he finds Claudia dead, the murder scene artfully staged, a puzzle box like the one Beau uses with clients in her hand.

Josie, Noah, and the team have their hands full with this one! The killer always seems to be one jump ahead, anticipating their efforts to trap him (or her?). The body count is rising, and everything they think of to pin down the killer, he easily sidesteps. That contributes significantly to the tension in the story.

Every story gives us a little insight into Josie’s past. In this one, we get to meet Luke, her ex. He and his dog are able to help with the investigation, and even though Josie is a little uncomfortable with it, she knows his skills are needed. I’m interested to find out if we see more of Luke in future books.

As with all of Regan’s books, there are suspects aplenty. Beau and Claudia’s marriage wasn’t as picture-perfect as the image they presented, and Beau wasn’t exactly a faithful husband. (Kind of makes you wonder why he wasn’t the one who ended up dead, with Claudia the prime suspect!) Were the murders motivated by jealousy? Greed? Trying to keep a secret safe? Regan does a fantastic job of keeping the reader guessing and then unraveling the knot she’s created to reveal the killer’s identity and motive.

My one gripe is with the police questioning Beau when he was obviously drunk as Cooter Brown. In a former life, I was a prosecutor. If I’d gone to court with the testimony of a witness who may or may not have had full command of his mental faculties, the defense would have had a field day with it. Josie and Noah are experienced enough that they should know better. So, half a star off for that. Still four and a half, and that rounds up to five!

All in all, The Innocent Wife is another gripping suspense tale from the pen of Lisa Regan, and she remains firmly on my list of must-read authors. Go back to the start of the series and get to know Josie. You’ll be glad you did!

I get so excited when a new Josie Quinn book is released. I know I’m in for a great detective story filled with characters I’ve come to know well. If this is you first Josie Quinn book, the author does a great job making it a standalone. The author also does a great job of explaining “police talk” in a way that helps the reader without drawing out the explanations.

I’m a huge fan of this series so this was an auto read for me. Josie is a strong woman who will do what it takes to solve a crime. The author has a great writing style that will keep you guessing on who the villain is until the end. This book is a must read if you love police procedurals!

Another fantastic addition to the Josie Quinn series! Lisa Regan delivers time and time again! As with all her books, this one was gripping from the start. There are never dull moments in her books. She keeps me guessing and on the edge of my seat, flipping the pages and doing my own detective work along with the Denton PD. Did I mention that this is one of my favorite series?

Josie is called to the scene of a grisly murder. The victim is Claudia Collins, a therapist and television personality. Together with her husband, Beau Collins, she hosts a popular television show which focuses on relationships. Claudia and Beau are a picture-perfect couple who on the surface appear to have the perfect marriage and life. On the night she was found murdered, Claudia and Bea where gong to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. It was meant to be a beautiful and romantic evening which they were sharing with their viewers. Unfortunately, their perfectly orchestrated evening ended in tragedy.

As Josie, Noah and company begin to investigate, a blast from their past is also called in to help. Luke, Josie's former fiancé, and his dog are called in to help. As more people in Bea and Claudia's inner circle begin to go missing, the tension mounts and a search for a killer is underway.

Woohoo! This was a twist and secret filled book which did not disappoint! Lisa kept me guessing the entire way. The killer was playing a game and toying with Beau, but why? Plus, there are diary entries, which had me captivated and scratching my head. With all of Regan's books, the tension mounts and Josie (mainly) and Noah get into some scary situations and must catch a killer before someone else dies!

Gripping, tense and action packed. This is my go-to series, and I loved every single page! Can this be read as a stand-alone? Yes, Lisa Regan always gives enough information on characters that new readers will not feel left out. Having said that, this is such an engaging and riveting series, do yourself a favor and begin at book #1.

I can’t believe this is book sixteen. Every time Josie and the team come back in a new novel, it’s like catching up with old friends. And I love that at the very beginning of this book where the team works to solve multiple murders, there is a moment with Josie and Harris where he thinks that bacon shaped band aids are the perfect Christmas gift. A moment of innocence before all the ugly in the world.

While I am not sure I am ready to forgive Luke, I am a sucker for a search and rescue dog. They only play a small part in the book, but I like the full circle his and Josie’s story have taken.

But what I like most about the book is it is a lot about solving the crimes, but it is also about how the cases and the process affect Josie and how strong she is to work through everything to do what needs to be done. There were a couple of twists that I saw coming and a few I did not. I am not usually upset at seeing a twist before it happens as long as I can enjoy the story and that was the case here.

As with all the books in the series, this one can be read as a stand alone, but you won’t appreciate how Josie’s past plays into the story.

Thank You NetGalley for an ARC of Lisa Regan’s book The innocent Wife. And thank you Bookouture for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy. Thank you Lisa Regan for writing this amazing book.

I have been waiting for what seems like forever to read The Innocent Wife. I just finished and now I’m mad at myself. I tried so hard to go slower because I never want Lisa Regan’s books to end. Lisa is the kind of author who pulls you right in from the first sentence. I mean, I already know when her next 5 books come out that I will be reading them. I don’t even need to read the synopsis to know that it will be a 5 star read. If I was asked who my favorite character was in any book it wouldn’t be Pooh (Winnie) who is my all time favorite character ever. It would 100% be JOSIE QUINN. She is my bff in my head. I feel like I’ve known her forever and I want to invite her out to dinner. If you haven’t already read a Lisa Regan book. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GOOOOOOO RIGHT NOW! I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa a few months ago and I was so Star Struck and excited. She is the best. So sweet and friendly. The only thing negative I can say about this book: Beau is a creep. And Lisa does an amazing job of making him that way.

I love this series. When I started this book I was sure how I'd feel about Luke reappearing in a recurring role now I'm not as opposed to it as I may have been.

Noah and Josie and the team in Denton, OH are quite the investigative team and I enjoy reading every one of these novels. I look forward to the next.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wowzers! What did I just read?! This book was unreal! The story was just mental and I wasn’t expecting THAT!! Book Contender for 2022…HELL YEAH!

I love this series but this one will stick in my mind for a while. One lie, one mistake, causes utter destruction and I had no idea how it all linked together. When it happened, I still had questions, I had a loose end, and then it was tied up…… Jaw dropped… What a clanger! I was twisted up in knots with this book. It was very cleverly done. I am in awe. I just simply loved this book!

I don’t want to talk about the story because I don’t want to give anything away but the story of Claudia and Beau is a story that just keeps on giving. So many secrets were uncovered throughout the book making you question how well you know your closest person. The couple is famous, on TV, writes books and so much more, so this case is already high profile. And with Josie on the case you know she will solve it, and bringing back a character from a previous book was an interesting plot twist. Despite bringing them back, I didn’t see them enough but it is going to be a great dynamic for the team. Looking forward to seeing how it works in the future.

I have to applaud the author because she shows these characters as humanly as she possibly can and I appreciate the fact that Josie is still dealing with the loss of someone close to her. I respect the realistic portrayal of grief, it’s tough, hard and heartbreaking, but as much as I hate seeing Josie go through, it was real and raw. It gives the characters all depth.

Just everything worked for me and it was just brilliant.

Roll on to the next one!!!

There is also some heartstring tugging along the way. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I cannot wait for the next one.

Ahhh Lisa Regan, you're back to your best!
I have loved some of the Josie Quinn books, but I have yet to read the entire series. This one is up there with my favourites.
You are thrown into the drama- it always follows Josie, doesn't it?! This has a plot that really intrigued me and I looked forward to reading it when I had to put it down. It has a huge 'did she or didn't she' question throughout that just fascinated me and kept me reading.
Those characters? Well, Josie Quinn doesn't need much introduction but it's safe to say that she is a fabulous character to base a story around! After 16 books, the readers know her pretty well, and I'm sure they love her as much as I do!
Fantastic.

4 ½* rounded up to a 5

This is another great addition to Lisa’s Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn’s series. This is #16 and I certainly applaud Ms. Regan for keeping this series exciting, fresh and with a great mystery or two to uncover.

The blurb is very extensive for this book but here’s a brief description of the plot:

Beau and Claudia Collins are a high profile celebrity couple who have a show on healing relationships, keeping romance in your marriage, etc They of course appear to be the perfect, beautiful couple with the most wonderful marriage imaginable.

They became widely followed after adding a podcast and writing a book that did very well.

Detective Quinn gets a call to the celebrity’s home in the early evening. Beau has returned home to celebrate their 15 th wedding anniversary. The dinner was also set to be filmed with film crews to arrive etc.

Beau however found his wife dead, slumped over and posed on a dining room chair. A puzzle box was left in her hand. Beau has used these boxes on his show, so what is that connection?

Josie and her husband Noah, take on this mystery which will prove to be cleverly plotted with multiple suspects and of course, LOTS OF HIDDEN LIES AND EVEN LIVES!!

Luke, a character from a previous book, returns now with a highly trained rescue dog named Blue. An interesting addition to the cast.

Diary entries are scattered throughout the book, but who are they from and what is their connection to this murder?

There is a lot to untangle in this book which ends in a great twist which was unexpected and expertly done.

I LOVE A WOW ENDING!! I think this is another solid winner for Ms. Regan

I received a ARC of this novel from the publisher through Edelweiss. It was my pleasure to read and review this title.

Book #16 in the Josie Quinn Series.

This series just gets better and better! Lisa Regan consistently delivers! This novel was immediately engrossing, as are all of her others. Her books never have a dull moment. She keeps me turning the pages and conducting my own investigation with the Denton PD while keeping me on the edge of my seat.

In this one, Josie is summoned to a gruesome murder scene. Claudia Collins, a therapist and television celebrity is the victim. She co-hosts a well-liked television program about relationships with her husband, Beau Collins. Beau and Claudia seem to have the ideal marriage and life; they are the picture of perfection. Claudia and Beau were set to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary on the night she was found. They intended to share the celebration with their viewers. Unfortunately, their carefully planned evening became tragic…

A blast from their past is also brought in to assist as Josie, Noah, and the others start their investigation. The assistance of Luke, Josie's ex-fiancé, and his dog is requested. Tension grows as more members of Bea and Claudia's close circle start to vanish, and a killer is being sought.

This novel was full of surprises and twists, and it did not disappoint! Lisa never let me stop wondering. Beau was being played with by the murderer as part of a game, but why? There are also diary entries, which intrigued and perplexed me at the same time. With each of Regan's books, the suspense grows, Josie (and mostly) and Noah are thrust into terrifying situations, and they have to find the perpetrator before another person perishes!

Action-packed, tense, and gripping. I adore every page in this series, which is one of my favorites! Can this be read independently? Yes, Lisa Regan always provides sufficient background on her characters so that new readers won't feel lost. Given that this is such an engrossing and compelling series, start with Vanishing Girl (Book #1) if you can.

The Innocent Wife (Detective Josie Quinn Book 16)
by Lisa Regan
Pub Date: 12 Dec 2022

This is my very first Detective Josie Quinn Book and I'm totally hooked!

"The Innocent Wife" is a gripping crime thriller that had me from page one until the final page not knowing who the murderer was. I could not put the book down. There are a lot of twists, turns, secrets and tension between the pages which made it all the more exciting!

Detective Josie Quinn is called to a crime scene of a local TV Star. After questioning everyone in her inner circle she feels someone is lying. Then another member of the inner circle is murdered. Detective Josie Quinn must find the killer before there is a 3rd victim!

This is the first book I've read in the Detective Josie Quinn Book series, I'm very excited to read all of the other books after reading this one.

A digital ARC of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Bookouture. The opinions are my own and freely given.
